FOREMOST HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST AND PRESIDENT OF WOMEN ARISE DR JOE OKEI- ODUMAKIN AND OTHER NOTABLE ACTIVISTS ACROSS LAGOS STATE ARE CALLING FOR UNITY AGAINST TERRORISM AND INDISCRIMINATE KILLINGS ,KIDNAPPING AND OTHER VICES THAT THREATENING THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS.

THE EXPERTS MADE THIS CALL DURING AND AN EVENT TO COMMEMORATE THE 14 TH REMEMBRANCE OF LATE DR BEKO RANSOME KUTI IN LAGOS.

THE ACTIVISTS WHO NOTED THAT NIGERIA WAS IN DIRE NEED OF MEN AND WOMEN WHO CAN STAND UP IN DEFENSE OF THE MASSES,SAID THE DEATH OF BEKO HAS LEFT A WIDE GAP WITHIN THE THE CIVIL SOCIETY CIRCLE IN NIGERIA.

THEY URGED ALL TO CONTINUE TO RESIST UNJUST POLICIES AND DEMAND THAT DEMOCRACY, RULE OF LAW AND GOOD GOVERNANCE PREVAIL IN NIGERIA AT ALL TIMES.

DR BEKO WAS A DEFENDER OF THE OPPRESSED WHO FOUGHT NUMEROUS BATTLES AGAINST IRRESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP THAT MADE HIM A WORTHY AMBASSADOR OF FREEDOM.

BEKO PASSED AWAY ON THE 10TH OF FEBRUARY 2006
