Information just reaching us now says five news cases of covid- 19 have been recorded in Nigeria, bringing total cases to Eight so far.
Four out of the additional cases are recorded in Lagos state, while one is from Ekiti State
The Situation was Confirmed by the Minister of Health Osagie Ehanire on Wednesday at a press briefing in Abuja,and the Lagos state commissioner for health.
The affected persons are said to have had a travel history to the U.S And the United Kingdom.
Two out of the five new cases are said to be Nigerians ,a mother and a baby of six weeks old,while one is an American who came in through the Nigeria Benin land Border.
While the mother and child are now at the Yaba Hospital for treatment,the process of Admission is said to be under way for the American.
The Commissioner has however urged people not to panic, but to be sober and adhere strictly to any instruction given by Government and health officials.
Meanwhile contact tracing has started for the new cases, while some activities by the ministry of health have been cancelled for public interest.
The Index Case is still on admission while family members of the third case have been quarantined
