From Monday March 23rd 2020,All public and private schools operating in Lagos state are to stop operation.
The directive according to Lagos state Government is part of the state Government’s preventive measures against the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the state which has recorded seven confirmed cases of the Virus.
Commissioner for Education Adefisayo Folashade who gave the directive said the move become necessary to prevent children and their teachers from getting more vulnerable to the pandemic.
She noted that the closure was not intended to create panic but to arrest the spread of the disease,
She also assured that the state’s Incident Command Centre, headed by the Governor, will continue to trace all contacts of the identified cases.
She encourage anyone who has information about suspected cases to report to the nearest hospital or call the emergency telephone numbers
