THE LAGOS STATE COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH PROFESSOR AKIN ABAYOMI HAS APPEALED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO OBSERVE ALL PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES,ESPECIALLY THE SOCIAL DISTANCE PRINCIPLE TO STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 IN NIGERIA,AND BE ABLE TO CUT DOWN ON THE THIRTY NINE THOUSAND PROJECTED CASES TO THIRTEEN THOUSAND IN LAGOS

THE COMMISSIONER WHO WAS SPEAKING DURING AN UPDATE ABOUT THE PATIENTS ON BOARD A MARINE VESSEL WHO TESTED POSITIVE TO THE VIRUS AND HOW THEY ARE BEING MANAGED SAID THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT THE VIRUS IS BEGINNING TO SPREAD AT A COMMUNITY LEVEL GIVEN A CASE OF ABOUT TWO PEOPLE WHO CAN NOT REALLY TELL HOW THEY GOT INFECTED WITH THE VIRUS

THE COMMISSIONER WHO ALSO REINTERPRETED THAT SOME PATIENTS ARE ABOUT TO BE DISCHARGED SINCE THEY HAVE COMPLETED THEIR TREATMENT AND CONFIRMED OK.
HE ALSO NOTED THAT THE STATE IS WORKING TO HANDLE THE INFLUX OF NIGERIANS ABROAD WHO ARE NOW COMING INTO THE COUNTRY THROUGH THE LAND BOARDERS SINCE THE CLOSURE OF THE AIRPORT.

THE COMMISSIONER HAS ADVISED PEOPLE NOT GO TO ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE FACILITITY WERE RAPID TEST FOR COVID-19 ARE BEING DONE TO AVOID COMPLICATING ISSUES.

LAGOS STATE CURRENTLY HAS 44 CONFIRMED NUMBER OF COVID -19 CASES IN ADDITION TO THE SEVEN PATIENTS THE CAME WITH THE MARINE VESSEL OUT OF WHICH HAVE BEEN TWO HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED,AND ONE DEAD
