A gas station is currently on fire in baruwa area of lagos.
The explosion according to reports occurred around 6.00am on Thursday Morning.
Some LASEMA officials, Lagos fire service and other emergency responders are currently on ground battling to put out the fire.
So far five buildings have been razed and some fatalities have been recorded
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s Executive Director, Olufemi Oke Osanyitolu confirmed the incident adding that the agency has activated its emergency response plan.
Further investigation at the scene revealed that the a gas station belonging to Best Roof Cooking Gas exploded by burning buildings around. The cause of the explosion could not be ascertained at the moment.
Unfortunately, Four mortalities were recorded and several others injured. A combined effort of the Agency’s Tiger team, Dolphin team, LRU Fire, LASG Fire Service, NPF, NUPENG, and LNSC are on ground to curtail the spread of the fire to other buildings. Dampening down ongoing.
This incident come barely a few hours after the case explosion around iju area of Lagos calls for questions as to why Gas And Petrol Stations should be cited in residential Area.
