COVID-19 VACCINES SAFETY CONCERNS AND NAFDAC’S SUBMISSION
The Director General National Agency For Foods and,Drugs Administration and control Prof Mojisola Adeyeye has advised Nigerians to beware of some fake covid-19 VACCINES in circulation in Nigeria.
Professor Adeyeye at a briefing with News Men in Lagos said there were reports of fake vaccines in circulation which could cause covid-19 symptoms and other deadly diseases.
She warned that organizations and individuals should not place order yet pending their approval.
She hinted that between the end of January to February 2021, the vaccine if approved, may be available in the Country.
About the preservation and concerns of temperature ,She said The Pfizer vaccine are produced with the cold chain factor which if maintained, keeps them in perfect condition
Adeyeye said covid-19 vaccines are new ,and therefore Adverse effect must be well monitored.
She said the agency is working with the federal ministry of Health, NCDC,the National primary health care development agency UNICEF AND WHO for an holistic approach and effective immunization or delivery of the vaccines and proper monitoring of any side effect in due time
