Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Anchor University, a faith-based university in Ayobo, Lagos, owned by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Professor Johnson Fatokun has been kidnapped.

The deputy vice chancellor was reported to have left Lagos on Sunday, january 17, 2021, to drop off his two children who were schooling in the north.

According to Reports ,Professor Fatokun’s vehicle was waylaid by gunmen in police uniform in Nasarawa en route to the airport to return for Lagos.

The professor was said to have dropped his son at the Deeper Life High School in the morning and his daughter, later the same day at the University of Jos in Plateau State.

The professor was returning from Jos to Keffi in Nasarawa State, late in the evening when he was encountered by gunmen on the road and the driver had maneuvered his way and sped through them, when the gunmen started chasing the vehicle and shooting.

It was gathered also that there was another set of kidnappers right in front of them, who succeeded in stopping the vehicle, after beating up the driver, who managed to escape.

It was further gathered that the kidnappers have been speaking with some leaders of the victim’s church in Nasarawa state.

Fatokun is a professor of Computational Mathematics and Numerical Analysis and was the pioneer deputy vice-chancellor of Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, before joining Anchor University in 2017
