Caritas Foundation Nigeria has launched a platform to bring Religious Leaders together on breaking the Chain of COVID-19 Virus transmission across Nigeria.

The event tagged “COVID-19 Messages of Hope intervention.”was flagged off by the US Consul General to Nigeria ,Claire Pierangelo .

The initiative which kicked off with a Two Day workshop on 3rd March 2021 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos Provided an Opportunity for the CEO Caritas Foundation Reverend Father Uchechukwu Obodoechina , Joseph Daramola General Secretary Of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Ustaz Abubakar Sadeeq,A representative Of Nigerian Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs, Acting Country Director US Center for Disease Control Doctor Bolu Omotayo, Representatives From the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control and several others to deliberate on how to achieve equitable distribution of the ASTRA ZENECA COVID-19 VACCINES that Arrived Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on March 2nd 2021.

They Cautioned Against Politicization of the VACCINES Distribution, And called for inter religious collaboration as well as Continuous adherence to the non- Pharmaceutical Guild lines to avert further Spread of the virus.

With a population of two hundred million, the stakeholders noted that the 3.92 first batch of the ASTRA ZENECA COVID-19 VACCINE was like a drop in the ocean,and that it will take a about two years for The Country to achieve a head count of the vaccination.

As part of measures to ensure compliance of covid-19 Protocol in the mosque, it was disclosed by the Islamic representative Ustaz Sadeeq that worshippers who do not take covid -19 vaccines will not be allowed to perform Haji in Saudi Arabia
