Lafenwa Market in Ogun State has gone up in Flames following a Petrol tanker that overturned in the area and spilled it content on road
The loaded tanker with Premium Motor Spirit popularly known as petrol had early this morning overturned and had started spilling its contents on the road.
The incident according to the information released by the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, occurred around 4.45am at Oju Irin, Lafenwa in bound Rounder in Abeokuta.
He said trans-loading of the remaining content had commenced.
Akinbiyi had appealed to the general public, particularly the motoring public, domiciled or moving around the axis to remain calm and avoid scooping fuel to avert a fire outbreak.
He advised the motoring public going inward Rounder axis from Lafenwa, to make use f Olomore and Oke-Ata axis respectively as alternative routes, since traffic has been diverted towards that axis presently.
After Everyone had relaxed that the situation was under control, the Fire started that has burnt some people to Death
