Falconets Sarrive Home Safely
Nigeria football federation has promised to pay the u-20 women’s team, the falconets their outstanding match bonuses as the team finally arrived home after a long travelling hours.
NFF general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi and representative of the minister of sports, Toyin Ibitoye made the promise when they received the team at the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport abuja Wednesday Night.
The Falconets had an unpleasant travelling experience on their way back from the FIFA u-20 world cup in Costa Rica,and overstayed by 24 hours at the Instabul airport in Turkey where they slept on benches and on the floor after they missed a connecting flight to abuja.
The team was eliminated in the quarter finals of the women’s u-20 world cup following a two nil defeat to the Netherlands.
They were bound to leave the host nation enroute Bogota, Colombia to Panama and then turkey where they connected Abuja,A 3 hour delay in their flight from Bogota to panama and another one hour delay at the Panama airport caused the team to miss their flight to Nigeria from Instabul.
