*HYDROLOGICAL ANALYSIS FOR ISHERI NORTH G.R.A FALOMO-IKOYI & MAJIDUN-IKORODU FLOOD MONITORING SYSTEM.

*WATER LEVEL FOR FALOMO:*
Current water level at Falomo is 0.860m, an increase of 0.105m over 24 hours
*Majidun, Ikorodu*
Current water level at Majidun is 0.985m an increase of 0.140m over 24 hours.
*Isheri-North G.R.A*
Gauge at Isheri-North G.R.A River Gauge Station is 19.797m. Implying stage is close to the Flood stage for river Ogun, with reference point for flood to occur at 20m.
*ANALYSIS*
Elevated readings was observed across board. River gauge and Lagoon level are way above threshold. Both with a lower draining potential compared to yesterday’s. Elevated readings are still expected in the coming days.
*Please Note: October so far has the highest daily Water (Volume) spilled from the Ogun-Osun River Dam*
The gauge height at Isheri-North G.R.A is very close to the Flood Stage.
There would be consistent high water level, with a range of 0.75 – 1.00m (Falomo & Ikorodu) over the coming days. With the steady flow rate meaning such water will majorly fluctuate between 0.75 – 1.00m levels or sometimes above, depending on the precipitation (duration and intensity) and volume of water spilled.
The ITD Location – *8.0* specifying Moisture from the ocean for the southern part of Nigeria, currently indicates – Intermittent Rainfall for Lagosπ§π§π§π§
*FORECAST:*
The surrounding wetlands and low lying communities might have difficulties discharging storm water into these open sources.
Hence, High Flood risk ππππ¦π¦π¦level for Communities along the Ogun river and Lagos Lagoon.
*ALERT:*
With the elevated average water spilled π¦π¦π¦π¦ for October and precipitation π§οΈπ§οΈπ§οΈπ§οΈπ§οΈ still expected in major parts of the State, the populace along Kara, Isheri-North G.R.A, Agiliti, Majidun, Ajegunle, Itowolo, Ibeshe, Baiyeku, and the Lekki-Ajah axis are seriously advised to move to higher grounds during this period.
