The Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has called on residents in the State to remain calm and not take any action that will undermine security and lead to the destruction of properties.
This is communicated in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare in Benin City where he saluted people for their conduct during the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Nehikhare noted that the result of the election is unacceptable to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the party will duly seek redress through legal means as outlined in the Nigerian constitution to ensure that wrongs perpetuated in the electoral process are righted.
He called on residents to go about their daily activities and shun any acts of violence.
