The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS is appealing to various tertiary institutions and privately-owned schools who have increased school fees, to retract their steps until the education funding programmes of the incoming administration is unveiled.
NANS vice president incharge of National affairs at a briefing in Abuja, says already in the last couple of months, hundreds of tertiary institutions students have withdrawn, over failure to pay new and high school fees.
While seeking the present administration’s intervention, NANS says school fees have been increased by 300, 500 and even 1000 percentages.
On the proposed 800 million dollars palliative grant from the world bank, NANS says it is an insult to the Nigerian state and condemns the move
NANS also called for am end to fuel scarcity.
