Officials at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN say they have cleared the runway that was temporarily shut down on Sunday for flight operations after removing the faulty Max Air Plane from the runway.
The blockage of the runway at the Nnamdi Azekiwe International Airport on Sunday left Several Passengers heading to the airport and others departing from abuja to various parts of the country stranded.
The runway was closed temporarily as a result of the Max Air flight which crash landed at 2:50pm on Sunday.
Most Passengers who were affected had their Flights rebooked by the airline within Twenty Four hours, while some opted for routes to reach their destinations
The Max Airlines Tyre carrying 144 passengers and 6 crew bursted after landing on the abuja airport runway .
No lost of lives or injuries were recommended as Passengers on board disembarked safely.
The airport officials were on ground to handle the situation which could have been a National tragedy with former President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA)Mike Ogirima on board.
