President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Joe Ajaero has sent a message to the Bola Tinubu’s government not to follow the path of the Buhari administration by quickly implementing the No work no pay policy against workers on strike over unfulfilled agreements.
The NLC President Ajaero gave the warning while urging the Joint Health Sector Unions JOHESU not to be deterred by threat from government to replicate witheld salaries of Academic staff union of universities, ASUU on any union which attempt strike.
He however told the deputy President of the Medical and Health Workers Union, Ado Minjibir, who is an official of JOHESU to be encourage his members to be more tactical in pushing for their Consolidated Health salary structure, CONHESS Adjustment
JOHESU went on with its threat and called for an indefinite strike on Friday May 26, after a fifteen day ultimatum due to Government’s failure to adjust the Consolidated salary structure CONHESS for The Health Workers
The agreement was reached since 2014.
