NASARAWA STATE COUNCIL OF NMA BEGINS 5-DAY WARNING STRIKE

The Nasarawa State Chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has started a Five Day warning strike following the expiration of the three weeks ultimatum issued to the state Government.

This was disclosed by Dr. Peter Attah, the NMA Chairman in the state during a briefing with Journalists in Lafia.

The association had on June 13th issued a three weeks Ultimatum over welfare issues concerning their members.

According to The NMA chairman , The meetings with the state Government had no serious commitment so the congress agreed that members withdraw their services in all the state Government-owned facilities for 5 days.

According to Him,19 General Hospitals in the State have only 33 Doctors which is grossly inadequate by any standard.

Among The Doctors demands are Non-implementation of promotions for Doctors and annual salary increment for over Nine years, non-implementation of N30,000 minimum wage and poor working condition
