The Lagos Gov.Babajide Sanwoolu has announced a fifty percent discount charge on all high capacity buses under the state control from August 2.
The move is part of efforts to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on Lagos Residents
Sanwoolu who stated this during a briefing Journalists on Monday at the end of state security council meeting in his office in Alausa said the state Government has also secured the understanding of Private Commercial Bus Operators to reduce their fare by 25 percent.
Governor Sanwo-Olu added that Food Packs would also be made available to vulnerable citizens in the state, noting that his administration and various security commands in the State are working round the clock to confront the recent upsurge in criminal activities.
Reacting to the increasing rate of crime in the state, Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa said concerted efforts have been put in place to control the situation that has led to the arrest of more than two hundred and sixty crime Suspects arrested lately.
Owohunwa stated that the command has raided some black spots in the state and recovered arms and illicit Drugs.
