The Lagos state Waterways Authority has recovered the body of a yet to be identified female Passenger on board a boat named T- Ben which capsized in Lagos late Wednesday.
The spokesperson for the Lagos state Waterways Authority, Wuraola Alake in a statement explained that the boat driver collided with a submerged shoreline concrete at a construction site around the power line corridor at the Lekki – Ikoyi link Bridge.
Wuraola Alake who confirmed the recovery of the body of a female adult earlier declared missing says fifteen others were rescued by emergency responders who rushed to the scene of the incident.
Search and rescue operations she explained is still ongoing.
The boat was said to have departed Addax jetty,heading to Ibeshe in Ikorodu, before the incident took place which threw the passengers into the Lagoon.
