Ogunmoyin in her opening remarks encouraged the students to be attentive to the gender and sexual based violence teachings. She stressed that being enlightened was a sure way to keep themselves safe from all forms of abuse.
The first facilitator at the workshop, Miss. Zainab Alaka a safeguarding and Child Protection Officer with the DSVA, helped the students to understand who a child is, the responsibilities of a child, and the rights of a child which she said included: the right to a peaceful home, the right to have a name, right to private and family life amongst others.
She further enlightened the children on child abuse, and its forms and also explained to the students the required relationship to be maintained with the opposite sex.
Lastly, Miss. Alaka ended her session by urging the students to report to the DSVA toll-free line; 08000333333 or any trusted adult if anyone touches them on any of their private parts.

He went further to tell the students that when they say ‘No’, they should say it authoritatively.

After the teachings, two representatives from each school were chosen for the recitation of the Pants rules and the winners were awarded gifts.
