The Anti graft Agency the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is stopping at nothing to nip in the bud the abuse of the “Naira”.

Hence the EFCC has lodged a three count charge against Lagos resident internet personality and socialite Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as ‘Cubana Chief Priest’ for allegedly spraying and tampering with the Naira notes at a social gathering held in February at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

His action is said to have violated the Central Bank Act(CBN) 2007.

Cubana Chief Priest is expected to appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court Lagos on Wednesday April 17th 2024.

The antigraft agency’s prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo(SAN) alongside seven other representatives who filed the charge on April 4th implicated the socialite Cubana Chief Priest to have tampered with N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria during multiple social events.

The first count alleged that on February 13th 2024 the socialite tampered with N500 notes at the said gathering for two hours; the second count cited a similar incident in Lagos in the year 2020 while the third count referred to another scenario in January 2024 also in Lagos.

The legal action is coming following the recent trial and sentencing of Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.
