Million Of Naira were lost on Wednesday Afternoon as Several wooden shanties along Tejuosho Canal comprising shops and residences were gutted by fire .
Lagos state Emergency Management Agency ( LASEMA) in a statement issued by its permanent secretary,Femi Oke – Osanyitolu said investigation revealed that the fire started from one of the rooms where a member of the community who was cooking left the meal unattended to on the fire.
No casualty was recorded neither did anyone sustain injuries as the emergency responders stopped the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings like the Nigerian Television Authority , Oba Tejuosho house and other residential estates nearby.
Dampening down operations is still ongoing by officials from the Lagos state fire service to ensure that the fire does not reignite after the exercise.
