Oregun Senior High School, Lagos witnessed a significant milestone today Thursday 30th May,2024 with the inauguration of its Road Safety Club in the school premises.
The Road Safety Club which was the offspring of Daystar Unit 60 , Lagos was inaugurated in order to promote safe road practices among students and raise awareness about responsible behaviour as pedestrians, cyclists, and passengers.

Special Marshal Adeola Peters, Unit Coordinator of Unit 60 Daystar, delivered the welcome address, stressing the importance of road safety education, especially for young people. Peters highlighted the club’s role in achieving this goal and encouraged students to take an active part in promoting road safety.
The Guest of Honour, CRC Jimoh, Head of Operations at Ojota Command and SDER in charge of Special Marshals, SRC Toyin Fagbamiye inaugurated the club. In his speech, Jimoh emphasized the need for a safety culture and encouraged students to become advocates for the Federal Road Safety Corps. He shared insights from his experience and urged students to always prioritize safety on the roads.
The ceremony also featured the commissioning of a zebra crossing, a visible reminder of the importance of road safety.

The Road Safety Club aims to create a safety-conscious generation, and this initiative is a significant step towards achieving that goal. Congratulations to Oregun Senior High School and the Road Safety Club!
