TODAY’S WORD
Today’s Scripture
But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.
Romans 5:20, NKJV
ABOUNDING GRACE
You haven’t superseded your allotment of grace. You haven’t made a mistake so big that God ran out of mercy. Instead of living condemned, why don’t you go boldly to the throne of God and receive that grace and forgiveness. God is waiting to gladly welcome you. But here’s the key: He won’t force you to come. In Luke 15, the compassionate father didn’t make the prodigal son return home. It was the young man’s choice after allowing sin to abound in his life. When he took steps to return to his father, his father came running with grace and mercy that was much more abounding.
When we feel the guilt and condemnation, we have to know that grace abounds much more. God sees our failures already covered by Jesus’ blood. Now we have to receive the forgiveness and see ourselves without fault. When you became a child of the Most High God, He made you worthy. You are the righteousness of God. It’s not your righteousness; it’s His righteousness. Lift your head and see yourself as God sees you.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I have been freely justified by Jesus’ redemption and that Your grace is abounding in me. Thank You that the power of Your grace rules over where sin has abounded in my life. I believe that Your grace has no limits. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
When the Lord blesses you, He blesses you beyond what you expect. In the healing of the man with leprosy, Jesus reached out and touched the man, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately, the man was healed.
My friend, did you notice that Jesus touched the man first before He healed him? I love these little gestures of Jesus!
That simple touch restored a sense of humanity and dignity to the man who had not been touched for a long time. Because of his unclean and physically repulsive condition, no one wanted to be close to him, much less touch him.
Jesus knew that the man needed more than just physical healing, so He gave above and beyond what the man had hoped for. Beloved, that’s the love and over-supplying grace of your Savior!
What is your lack today? Know beyond any doubt that Jesus’ provision will exceed all your expectations!
