Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.
Psalm 40:2–3, NLT

Solid Ground
A difficult, dark time in your life doesn’t have to keep you from your destiny. You may be in the pit as David said he had been, but you need to get ready, because you’re coming out. That depression is not the end, the sickness is not the end, and the addiction is not the final chapter. The person who walked out on you is not the end. If they left you, you didn’t need them. If they walked out, they were not a part of your destiny. God has somebody better. He wants to put a new song in your heart.

Don’t get comfortable in the pit. Don’t let self-pity and discouragement steal your passion. You have to get your fire back. Every blessing that God promised you He still has every intention of bringing to pass. People can’t stop it, bad breaks can’t stop it, and mistakes you’ve made don’t have to stop it. Dreams coming to pass are in your future, with increase, abundance, promotion, health, and restoration. That’s what’s up in front of you. Solid ground is how your story ends.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that the pits I find myself in are only temporary stops along the way to my final destination. Thank You that I can sing a new song of praise because You lift me out of whatever holds me back. I believe that You’ll get me to where I’m supposed to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

Do you believe that our God is a BIG God of abundance and inexhaustible supply? He is the Possessor of heaven and earth. He is not El Cheapo. He is El Shaddai—the Almighty, all-sufficient and all-nourishing one!8

And in Christ, the abundance of God’s wisdom, favor, ability, strength, and creativity that you need for a successful family, career, and ministry, are yours to experience and enjoy.

I want to challenge you to break out of a mentality of lack by choosing to fix your eyes on an abundant God, who has put His unlimited resources at your disposal because you are His beloved child.

What is your lack today? Do you need a job? Do you need more time? Or do you just feel overwhelmed by the demands of family and work? Instead of seeing the lack, start seeing a BIG God providing for you out of His abundance, a job you’ll love, wisdom to manage your time and shalom-peace at work and at home.
