GOSPEL CORNER: WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN GOD SHOWS UP LATE AND YOUR BROTHER LAZARUS DIES? YOU PRAYED, YOU BELIEVED, BUT THE PROBLEM DIDN’T TURN AROUND, THE BUSINESS DIDN’T MAKE IT ?

Today’s Scripture
When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
John 11:32, NIV

TODAY’S WORD

When God Is Late
What do you do when God shows up late and your brother Lazarus dies? You prayed, you believed, but the problem didn’t turn around, the business didn’t make it, the relationship ended. Mary couldn’t believe that Jesus had not come in time and took it that He didn’t care, but Jesus had something better in mind than a healing. He was bringing a resurrection. *Sometimes the reason God delays is because He’s going to do something better than what you think, something bigger, more rewarding.*

You have to trust God when you don’t see anything happening. You have to believe when heaven is silent. He’s working behind the scenes. If you will be patient, every blessing that has your name on it will find you, and it’s going to be much better than you think.

The delay is a sign that God is up to something big. He’s about to show out in your life. At the time He has planned, in your due season, you’re going to see breakthroughs, healing, freedom, abundance, and more than you’ve imagined.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that no matter what challenges and setbacks I face, You have the final word over all things. Thank You that any apparent delay in Your response is a sign of something big that’s coming. I believe that You are working behind the scenes and bringing resurrections. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

The Bible tells us that the heart is where the issues of life spring forth. What we allow to enter our hearts will affect our thoughts, actions, and even our bodies. In other words, the condition of one’s heart determines the course of one’s life!

That is why Jesus, who bequeathed to us His peace, tells us, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). So if we want to walk in His peace and rest, we need to guard our hearts and not let them spiral into negative thoughts, worry, and fear. The Book of Wisdom also tells us that a peaceful and cheerful heart promotes health (Prov. 17:22 NIV).

Beloved, there may be many things in our lives that we want to “guard,” such as our health or careers, but God wants us to guard our hearts above all else, and He will guard the rest!

This is coming few Hours after the Lagos Assembly called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to direct release of funds for his overseas treatment

The Lawmakers have called for immediate arrest of Doctor who performed surgery

The Lagos State House of Assembly had on Tuesday called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to direct the Ministry of Health to release funds for the overseas treatment of Adebola Akin-Bright, whose intestines got missing in the process of surgery.

The House also commisserated with the family, friends and fans of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad, a young Nigerian Aftobeat musician, whose mysterious death has caused reactions across Nigeria and other countries.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, while presiding over the day’s plenary, moved that Master Akin-Bright needed the urgent treatment abroad.

Dr. Obasa and the House also called for the immediate arrest of the doctor of the private hospital, Obitoks Medical Centre in the Alimosho area of the state, who performed the initial surgery that led to the missing small intestine while investigations continue.

The Speaker’s position followed a preliminary report by the Majority Leader, Hon. Noheem Adams, who briefed the House on the findings of a five-man ad-hoc committee created to investigate the circumstances that led to the disappearance of the boy’s intestine.

Giving the preliminary report, Hon. Adams said members of the ad-hoc committee visited the boy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on Tuesday.

Adams, who chairs the committee, said that the full report would soon be presented, adding that some shocking discoveries were made in the course of its investigations.

“We made some shocking discoveries in the course of our investigation. The incident is very unusual, but we want the boy to survive and we know Mr. Speaker is very interested in his survival too.

“We went to LASUTH on the directives of the Speaker, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa, to find out the health status of Adebola Akin-Bright.

“The hospital told us that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had taken care of the bill for his treatment at LASUTH.

Adams, however, said they were told by the hospital that Akin-Bright needed to be transferred urgently to either the United States of America or United Kingdom for an intestine transplant and that communications were ongoing with hospitals in the two countries.

In his contribution, Hon. Temitope Adewale, another member of the committee, said the patient’s health was deteriorating and that urgent steps needed to be taken.

“He is now given GMO nutrient and there is the urgent need to take him abroad.

“Mr. Speaker, you have given this boy the opportunity to survive by setting up the committee,” he said.

Meanwhile, the House has thrown its weight behind the investigation by the police into Mohbad’s death.

The Speaker, while commending the Governor for also inviting the Department of State Services (DSS) into the issue, directed the Clerk of the House, Barrister Olalekan Onafeko, to write the Lagos Police Command and the DSS intimating them that the House supports the investigation and expect justice for the bereaved family.

Obasa also urged fans of Mohbad to be patient and continue to act with decorum while the investigation continues.

GOSPEL CORNER : TODAY’S SCRIPTURE AFTER THIS, JOB LIVED A HUNDRED AND FORTY YEARS; HE SAW HIS CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN TO THE fourth GENERATION.Job 42:16, NIV

JOEL OSTEEN MINISTRIES
Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.
Job 42:16, NIV

After This
There are forty-two chapters in the book of Job, and all forty-two focus on the difficulties he went through—the loss of his business, his children, his health, and the accusations of his friends. It seems like this struggle was his whole life, but “after this” Job lived over a hundred and forty good years and experienced great joy with his children and grandchildren. God is showing us that the trouble is temporary, that it’s not going to last forever. You may be in a difficult time, but that’s not how your story ends. That loss is not going to define you. That sickness is not going to ruin the rest of your life. That person who walked away, that bad break, or the unfair situation is not going to stop your purpose. God has an “after this” for you. After the trouble, there’s going to be great joy in your life. After the loss, after the sickness, after the legal battle, you’re going to see new friendships, new opportunities, new growth. Your story ends in victory.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that nothing and no one can upset Your plans for my life. Thank You that You have an ‘after this’ for difficult seasons and my story doesn’t end there. Help me to declare that You live and are on the throne in the tough times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

SECTION TWO

I really want you to reign in all areas of life by receiving a robust revelation of your righteousness in Christ. You grow in this revelation the more you hear about what Jesus has accomplished for you at the cross.

The Bible tells us that blessings crown the head of the righteous (Prov. 10:6). So the larger the revelation of your righteousness in Christ and the more you are established in it, the more you will see God’s blessings manifest in your life.

Let me put it another way: See the robe of righteousness that God has already clothed you with having pockets labeled “favor,” “healing,” “deliverance,” “provision,” “wisdom,” “family blessings,” and so on. The more conscious you are of this robe on you, the more you will experience the good gifts that come with it and live a purposeful and fulfilling life—a life where you have more than enough to bless others as well!

GOSPEL CORNER: WALK WITH THE WISE AND BECOME WISE; ASSOCIATE WITH FOOLS AND GET IN TROUBLE.Proverbs 13:20, NLT

19/03/23

JOEL OSTEEN MINISTRIES
Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.
Proverbs 13:20, NLT

ENERGY SUCKERS
When you’re around certain people, they drain all your energy. They’re always having a problem, telling you what’s wrong, how bad life is. They’re energy suckers. When you leave, you feel as though you just ran a marathon. You can’t take that on a regular basis and reach your potential. Yes, it’s fine to help them, to encourage them, but if you’re doing all the giving and never receiving, that’s out of balance. You need someone who encourages you, someone who speaks life into you.

You have greatness in you. God has called you to leave your mark, to take your family to a new level. Don’t waste your valuable time on dream stealers who tell you all the reasons why you can’t accomplish your goal.

Don’t sit passively around people you know are limiting you, not bringing the best out of you, not moving you forward. Yes, you may be lonely for a season, but God will bring you new friends, better friends, friends who push you up and don’t tear you down.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You for the friends in my life who inspire me, challenge me, and make me better. Help me to be wise about whom I spend my time with and to know the friendships I need to distance myself from and the friendships I need to develop. I want to walk with the right people. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

You are destined to reign in life! You are called by the Lord to be a success, to enjoy provision, to enjoy health, and to enjoy a life of victory. I want you to know that it is not the Lord’s desire that you live a life of defeat, poverty, and failure. He has called you to be the head and not the tail.

What this means is that if you are a businessman, God wants you to have a thriving business. If you are a homemaker, you are anointed to bring up wonderful children in the Lord. If you are a student, God wants you to excel in your studies and examinations. And if you are trusting the Lord for a new career, He doesn’t just want you to have a job, He wants you to have a position of influence, so you can be a blessing and an asset to your organization!

My friend, when you reign in life, you reign over sin, you reign over the powers of darkness, and you reign over depression, over perpetual lack, over every curse, and over every sickness and disease. You reign over the devil and all his devices!

So how do we reign in life? The power to reign does not depend on your family background, your educational qualifications, how you look, or how much savings you have in your bank account.

Look at today’s Scripture again. The power to reign is based entirely on Jesus and on Him alone: “much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”

My friend, if you are living a life of defeat—if you are defeated by sin, by constant guilt and condemnation, by sicknesses, by anxiety attacks, by financial lack, and by broken relationships—you are not living the life that God intended for you.

Based on the authority of God’s Word, you are destined to reign in life, to have dominion over all your challenges and circumstances! You are called to be above them all and not be trampled by them.

The time has come for you to lay hold of your right to reign over every area of defeat in your life. And through Christ Jesus, through the abundance of His grace and the gift of righteousness, you can.

Believe today that God is for you and wants you to experience breakthroughs and divine success. Your days of defeat are coming to an end. Days of joy, peace, and victory are headed your way!
