More Fact have emerged about the circumstances surrounding the death of founder of Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju Lagos Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.

Odukoya, according to the church, died in the United States of America (USA) on Monday at the age of 67.

Though the church didn’t disclose how he died, it was gathered that the respected preacher had health issues mainly triggered by personal tragedies.

Pastor Taiwo,lost his First Wife, Bimbo, in a Sosoliso plane crash in 2005 at the age of 45.

Pastor was more devastated by what people said after Pastor Bimbo died than what actually happened. Many people said nasty things that saddened his heart.

According to a close Source, he had no choice and decided to move on despite the heart break. It took a lot of talking for him to decide to remarry.

On November 9, 2021 death came knocking on his door again. This time, it took his second wife, Pastor Nomthi, a South African, away.

Nomthi, who died of cancer, was 47 and had two children for the preacher.

“If Pastor Bimbo’s death was shattering, Pastor Nomthi’s demise was a technical knock-out. It knocked Pastor down and out. He was inconsolable. He was very bothered about what people would say.

“It left him totally lifeless. There was nothing we could tell him. It took something deep out of him and some of us became afraid for him.”

When he lost his twin sister few weeks after his Wife’s death, sources said it was more or less the last straw.

For someone who has lost two important women in his life, it was tough to take the death of someone with whom he shared his womb and childhood.

“It was a personal, humbling tragedy. He would just gaze and seemed to become completely disinterested in things around him. It was unusual to become totally lost in conversations and issues.

“I believe something died in him at that point. He tried to put up a strong face for the church but he was human. He was died within and it was only a matter of time. That he lived for almost two years after showed the strength of his character.,” The family source explained.

The health challenges, it was learnt, started showing up, knocking him off and necessitating overseas medical trips from which he never recovered.

Trust His Plan
The Scripture says that God’s ways are not our ways. We think that it’s just the good breaks, the promotions, and the great relationships that serve God’s plan, but it’s also the disappointments, the closed doors, and the people who do us wrong. Without that happening, we couldn’t reach our destiny. You have to trust God’s process. We see the negative things as hindrances, but it is all necessary to become who we are created to be. We all go through things that don’t make sense, but God wouldn’t have allowed it if it wasn’t going to serve His plan. This is when you have to dig down deep and wait upon Him in faith. Just keep moving forward, doing the right thing, being faithful, serving others. God is not going to waste anything you go through. What was meant for your harm, He will turn to your advantage. You’re about to come out to new levels. You’re going to go places that you’ve never gone and see favor that you’ve never seen. God is doing a new thing.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are able to make all things serve me for my good, even the negative things that stress me out and seem to be holding me back. Thank You that I can stay in peace and trust the process. I believe that You are working out Your plan for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

I want to share with you a beautiful truth from the story of Gideon in Judges 6. Even after Gideon had God’s promise to “go in this might of yours” and save Israel, he was still fearful and unconvinced. He then asked for a sign to confirm that he was indeed speaking to the Lord. Gideon then presented an offering to the Lord, and fire rose out of the rock to consume the offering. Then our Lord Jesus disappeared. Only at that moment did Gideon’s lightning-fast mind perceive that he had indeed been speaking with the Lord Himself. He gasped, “Alas, O Lord God! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face” (Judg. 6:22).

Gideon began to panic, because in those days, they believed that if they saw God face to face, they would die. But before Gideon could frighten himself any further, the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.” (Judg. 6:23, boldface mine). So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it “The-Lord-Is-Peace” (Judg. 6:24), or in Hebrew, Jehovah Shalom. This is the first time the name Jehovah Shalom appears in the Bible, and the word that goes with this name is “you shall not die.”

According to the Strong’s Concordance, the word shalom refers to completeness, safety, soundness, welfare, health, and supply. It also refers to peace, quiet, tranquility, and contentment, as well as friendship in human relationships and with God in a covenant relationship. So if you think that Jehovah Shalom just gives you peace of mind, you are wrong. When you receive the Lord as Jehovah Shalom in your life, you are receiving so much more!

My dear friends, I believe with all my heart that the Lord wants to speak to you today about the world we live in. Like Gideon, we may be surrounded by bad news, like news of diseases such as Ebola and Zika, of bomb attacks, of random shootings, of hijackings, of missile strikes, and of fatal accidents. But God has already foreseen the problems that we will face in this day and age, and His protection and covering over us is all-encompassing!

Following initial findings by a panel set up by the Lagos State Government to investigate the Crashed Elevator at the General Hospital Odan which led to the death of Doctor Diaso Wvaere, the State Government has
sacked and blacklisted the Facility Managers, and asked
The GM of Lagos State Infrastructure and Asset Management Agency to immediately proceed on suspension .

6th August 2023,the operations and line of reporting of the facility managers have been restructured to involve the hospital management
While the installation and maintenance contractors have been Handed over to the Police for further investigation and likely prosecution if they are found culpable.

The police will also investigate anyone else that might have been found to be negligent

The Engineers are said to be working to unravel why all the safety devices of the elevator failed at the same time.

Information provided by the Press Statement also indicate that The Lagos Safety Commission has been directed to immediately carry out an audit of all Elevators in public offices ,besides the usual safety arrangements that have always existed.

The Government commiserates with her family and her Colleagues and pray for the repose of her soul as well as the fortitude to bear the
irreparable loss .

Following the incident, the Government immediately set up a panel to look into its likely causes, identify persons who might be culpable, and suggest ways of preventing any future occurrence.

For transparency, the membership of the panel included representatives of the Medical Guild and six representatives of House Officers.

The panel has now concluded its deliberations and submitted its report.

According to information provided by the press Statement, the Elevator that crashed was installed brand new in 2021.

Aide to Senator Representing Ogun West Solomon Olamilekan
Adeniyi Sanni Senior has been shot dead in Lagos state

Media adviser to senator Solomon Olamilekan, Kayode Odunaro, confirmed that Sanni was killed on Saturday.

Odunaro confirmed that the deceased was stopped at a checkpoint in Lagos and was questioned about his vehicle’s Papers.

He added that Sanni reached out to his wife to send the documents through Whatsapp, after which he suddenly went incommunicado.

The deceased did not specify who stopped him to ask for his car documents

He stated that Sanni’s wife was later called by Passersby through the “next of kin” Phone Number available on her Husband’s Driver’s license and was told that Sanni’s body had been found with a Gunshot wound around the Toyota bus stop in Oshodi.

Senator Adeola Solomon is The current chairman senate committee on Appropriation and has worked with Sanni Adeniyi for over a decade

BREASTFEEDING, ANTIDOTE TO MALNUTRITION IN CHILDREN – LAJIDE


The Permanent Secretary of the newly created Lagos State Health District II (superintending over primary health facilities in Shomolu,  Kosofe and Ikorodu LGAs), Dr. Dayo Lajide has said that proper and exclusive breastfeeding practice especially during the first six months of a baby’s life can help prevent malnutrition in children.
Speaking at the Flag-Off ceremonies of Y2023 World Breastfeeding Week commemoration championed by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, at the Ogudu Primary Healthcare Centre in Kosofe LGA and Ita-Elewa PHC in Ikorodu LGA, Lajide noted that the fight against malnutrition in children can only be won through the collective efforts of citizens by ensuring that all children are exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life, followed by adequate complementary feeding with continued Breast feeding for up to two years of age.
She disclosed that about 60 percent of under-five mortalities are largely due to malnutrition, caused by poor breastfeeding practices and inadequate complementary feeding. 
While noting that breastfeeding still remains the most cost-effective strategy to address malnutrition and improve child health indices, Lajide averred that Breastfeeding prevents hunger and malnutrition in all its forms and ensures food security for babies. 
“Breast milk is readily available, pure, safe, and in the right mixture and adequate for babies. Breast milk adds no economic burden on households income because it is freely given by nature. It is important to reiterate that breastfeeding is the key to sustainable development goals”, She added. 
Addressing the theme of Y2023 WBW commemoration, which is “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents”, the Permanent Secretary explained that theme explores the importance of the need protect, promote and provide support for breastfeeding friendlyenvironment for all especially working parents.
Lajide who recounted her Breastfeeding  experience as a working parent, urged employers of labour and employees to create and sustain breastfeeding-friendly environment for working mothers adding that the benefits and importance of proper and exclusive breastfeeding cannot be overemphasized.
“Breastfeeding is the right of every baby, and an enabling environment remains the exclusive right of both the mother and the child”, She said.
Lajide stated that the Lagos State Government approved six months maternity leave for mothers, and two weeks paternity leave for the first two pregnancies for fathers as part of efforts to support properand exclusive breastfeeding practice. She noted that the initiative has contributed tremendously to the exclusive Breastfeeding data.
The Permanent Secretary encouraged women of child-bearing age, especially pregnant women and nursing mothers to subscribe to proper breastfeeding practice.
“The survival of our children is our collective responsibility, and so this is a clarion call to action. All hands must be on deck to ensure our nursing mothers are supported to give the meal nature has provided to our children”, Lajide said.
She seizes the opportunity of the breastfeeding week flag-off at Ogudu and Ita-Elewa PHCs to tour the facilities of the health centres, noting and proferring on the spot solutions to challenges. She  also engaged management and staff of the health facilities, intimating them of the Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Lagos Government Free Health directive for PHCs to offer free ante-natal services and delivery as part of the Lagos State Government palliative roll out to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.
Lajide also paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Ikorodu LGA, extending hands of partnership and collaboration between the Local Government and the newly established Health District II.

Be Faithful
Elisha had left his family business to travel and serve the Prophet Elijah. Year after year, he’d been faithful doing what could have been seen as insignificant, as less than what he was capable of doing. He kept being his best, serving with excellence in the background of Elijah’s ministry. On the day when Elijah was taken to heaven in a whirlwind, Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit, and God gave it to him. Elisha had twice the anointing and did twice as many miracles as Elijah.

Wherever God has you, be your best. Don’t slack off because it’s not where you want to be and it’s less than what’s in you. Keep being faithful and your time is coming. God wants you to shine. He is going to take you from the background to the foreground. It’s going to happen suddenly. There’s about to be an ease on your life, good breaks chasing you down, strength that you’ve never had. As with Elisha, you’re going to see favor, increase, and opportunity that you’ve never seen.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the double portion that You have for those who are faithful when it would be easy to walk away. Thank You for where I am today and for the increase that You will bring in the future. I believe that even greater favor is coming. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

When I share—even from the Bible—the gift of righteousness we have through Christ, someone will inevitably ask, “But, Pastor Prince, if you preach that one is forever righteous before the Lord apart from his works and law keeping, won’t people go out and live a licentious life? Won’t it give people a license to sin?”

In addressing this question that today’s Scripture deals with superbly, allow me to make this explicitly clear in black and white, so there is no doubt in anyone’s mind: I, Joseph Prince, am vehemently, completely, aggressively, and irrevocably against sin! Sin is evil. I do not condone sin. A lifestyle of sin leads only to defeat and destruction. My goal is for people to live a life of victory over sin, but I do not believe a Victorious life comes by preaching the law. I am convicted that it happens by preaching the grace of God.

When you visit our church, you won’t find a congregation that, having received the good news of the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, wants to run off and start living in sin. In fact, some of the top business people, management executives, entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants, and consultants in my country attend our church, and you will find a congregation that is deeply in love with the person of Jesus. You will hear wonderful and amazing testimonies of how marriages have been restored, how terminal diseases have been miraculously healed, how long-term addictions and bondages have been supernaturally overcome, and other awesome testimonies that the good news of Jesus brings.

What you will see in our congregation is that sin loses its appeal when you encounter the person of grace, Jesus Christ, and realize all that He has done for you on the cross and blessed you with. You will begin to realize that you have been given this great gift of righteousness and that you did nothing to deserve it. You did nothing to earn it and you did nothing to merit it.

Now, will such an encounter with Jesus cause you to want to go out and sin? Of course not! On the contrary, it will cause you to fall in love with Jesus all over again. It will make you a better husband, a better father, a better housewife, a better student. It will make you someone who desires with all your heart to guard the glory of our Lord Jesus by living a life that is victorious over sin, by His grace and strength. The preoccupation with Christ instead of self will cause you to start reigning in life through the one, Jesus Christ. That is what we call the Grace Revolution!

The Word of God says, “Awake to righteousness, and sin not…” (1 Cor. 15:34, KJV). The more you realize that you are righteous, the more you will experience victory over sin! So wake up every morning and give thanks that you are the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ!
