MASS BURIAL OF ENDSARS VICTIMS (MISCHIEF MAKERS AT WORK)

24/07/23

DANIELS G.O

  PRESS STATEMENT

The attention of the Lagos State Government has been drawn to some social media Publications about a purported Mass Burial plan for Casualties of the 2020 #EndSARS incident.

Peddlers of the news are deliberately misinterpreting and sensationalizing a letter from the Lagos State Government Public Procurement Agency titled: Letter of No Objection – Mass Burial for the 103, the Year 2020 ENDSARS victims
to misinform the Public, stir Public sentiment and cause public disaffection against the Lagos State Government.

It is Public knowledge that the year 2020 #EndSARS crisis that snowballed into violence in many parts of Lagos recorded casualties in different areas of the State and NOT from the Lekki Toll Gate as being inferred in the mischievous Publications.

For the records, the Lagos State Environmental Health Unit (SEHMU) picked up bodies in the aftermath of #EndSARS violence and Community clashes at Fagba, Ketu, Ikorodu, Orile, Ajegunle, Abule-Egba, Ikeja, Ojota, Ekoro, Ogba, Isolo and Ajah areas of Lagos State.

There was also a jailbreak at Ikoyi Prison and The 103 Casualties mentioned in the document were from these incidents and NOT from Lekki Toll-gate as being alleged.

For the avoidance of doubt, no body was retrieved from the Lekki Toll Gate incident. Contrary to disingenuous narrative weaved around the recently approved mass burial , the #EndSARs Panel subpoenaed the Lagos State chief Pathologist to produce full records of unclaimed bodies of dead deposited with state central Morgue during the days immediately preceding and following the event at Lekki tollgate on 20/10/20 . The list with their autopsies of provable cause and circumstances of death were duly submitted and testified to before the panel .

This subpoena was at the request of lawyers who represented #EndSARS Protesters and the Chief Pathologist complied .

There was not a single finding in the report or ensuing white paper attributing the death of any named citizen listed in the Autopsy to the Lekki incident.

In the aftermath of the #EndSARS violence, the office of the Chief Coroner invited members of the public through public adverts and announcement (November 18,2020, Punch and November 19,2020 THISDAY) who had lost loved ones or whose relatives had been declared missing between 19th and 27th October 2020 from various clashes as mentioned above, to contact the department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) to help with identification of these casualties deposited in State-owned morgues. Relatives were to undergo DNA tests for identification purposes. It is important to state categorically that nobody responded to claim any of the bodies.  However, after almost three years, the bodies remain unclaimed, adding to the congestion of the morgues. This spurred the need to decongest the morgues – a procedure that follows very careful medical and legal guidelines in the event that a relative may still turn up to claim a lost relative years after the incident. The Government, therefore, appeals to social media rumour mongers to please allow the hapless families of the unclaimed loved ones a deserved closure.

Dr Olusegun Ogboye Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health July 23, 2023.

GOSPEL CORNER:I KNOW JUST HOW CRAZY AND BUSY OUR DAYS CAN GET. BUT WHEN THE DAY IS OVER AND WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING ABOUT JESUS, WE FEEL EMPTY, STRESSED OUT, WORRIED, FEARFUL, AND DEPRESSED

23/07/23

I want to encourage you to make listening to the good news of Jesus a daily priority. Listen, I know just how crazy and busy our days can get. But when the day is over and we have heard nothing about Jesus, we feel empty, stressed out, worried, fearful, and depressed.

My friend, Jesus is the bread of life and the living water. No matter how busy we get, it is prudent not to neglect feeding on His person. I know that in the natural, this can sound simplistic. You may be asking yourself, “How can simply listening about Jesus change things in my life and circumstances?” The truth is, the things of God are really not complicated. Just think about the woman who suffered from hemorrhaging for twelve years. Simply hearing about Jesus and His grace infused her with so much hope, so much faith, and so much courage that she was able to receive the healing she had started to believe for. Don’t underestimate the power of hearing about Jesus just because it sounds simple.

There is a beautiful verse in the psalms that says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Ps. 90:12). Do you want to know the secret of numbering your days and not allowing a single day of your life to be put to waste? The key is found in verse 14, where it says, “Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy.” The word “mercy” here is the Hebrew word hesed, which means God’s grace. God is telling us to be satisfied every day with His grace.

I suggest that before you do anything—read the papers, check your emails, or make that important phone call—start the day with Jesus and be satisfied with His grace. You can read a devotional about God’s grace, feed on the Father’s love, meditate on His grace, listen to a message that is all about Jesus, and open up His love letter—His Word—to you.

But Pastor Prince, my mornings are crazy! How long do I spend doing this? How much must I read, listen, or pray?

Beloved, the key is not to be legalistic about it. If morning doesn’t work for you, then find a time that best suits your schedule. It could be during your lunch break or just before you go to bed. The key principle here is to be satisfied daily with His grace. Feed on Him until your heart is full and satisfied with His grace. It’s really not about the duration or how much, but your level of satisfaction.

Enjoy God’s presence daily. He loves having a relationship with you and wants to fill your heart with His grace, peace, wisdom, and joy.

YOU CAN’T SOAR WITH THE EAGLES IF YOU’RE HANGING AROUND CHICKENS, PEOPLE WHO HAVE THEIR HEAD DOWN, FOCUSED ON WHAT THEY CAN’T DO

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
Psalm 1:1, NLT

Chickens, Turkeys, and Crows
The only thing that’s holding some people back is who they’re spending time with. You can’t be passive when it comes to people polluting your life and poisoning your atmosphere. Life is too short for you to spend with negative, can’t-do-it, jealous, critical, small-minded people who are not moving forward. You’re an eagle, and you need some eagles in your life. You need some people who soar, people who are doing great things, people who have a great attitude. But here’s the key: You can’t soar with the eagles if you’re hanging around chickens—people who have their head down, focused on what they can’t do. You can’t reach new levels hanging out with turkeys—people who compromise, take the easy way out, and are mediocre. You won’t see your greatness hanging around crows—people who complain, find fault, see the worst.

The less time you spend with some people the better off you’re going to be. You need to associate with other eagles, with people who inspire you to rise higher, not with people who drag you down.

*** A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the joy that always follows when I separate myself from anything that interferes with my relationship to You. Show me if there is anything that is holding me back. I look forward to the people You will bring into my life to inspire me to be my best. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

PART TWO

I have been accused of being one of those health and wealth “prosperity gospel” preachers. Actually, there is no such thing as a “prosperity gospel.” There is only one gospel and that is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus’ finished work on the cross, you can depend on Him for His resurrection life to pulsate and flow in your physical body from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. Sicknesses and diseases are not from God. On the cross, Jesus bore not just our sins, but also our sicknesses, diseases and infirmities, and “by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5)!

That’s not all, my friend. On the cross, Jesus bore the curse of poverty! This is what the Word of God declares: “For you know the grace [unmerited favor] of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). Read 2 Corinthians 8 for yourself. The entire chapter is about money and being a blessing financially to those who are in need. So don’t let anyone tell you that the verse is referring to “spiritual” riches. Let me tell you this: It is the devil who wants you sick and poor, but the God I know has paid a heavy price to redeem you from the curse of sickness and poverty!

Let’s understand how God deals with us from the point of relationship. As parents, we always seek the best things for our children. How much more would our Father in heaven want the best things for us, His precious children? In the same way that you want your children to be healthy, God wants you to enjoy His divine health. And in the same way that you want your children to always have more than enough, God wants you to enjoy His supernatural provision. When He provides, get ready for a net-breaking, boat-sinking load (Luke 5:6–7). Get ready for 12 baskets full of leftovers (John 6:13)! The Bible puts things in perspective most clearly in Matthew 7:11—If you then, as imperfect parents, “know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him”!

21/07/23

Press Release

The Oyo State Government on Thursday said it was working towards stopping movement of cattle within the State, in its effort to bring an end to recurring cases of cattle-rustling and farmers’ clashes.

A statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Rotimi Babalola said the Oyo State Government assured cattle breeders and dealers in the state of adequate security in curbing incessant cattle rustling in the state.

The statement added that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Christianah Abioye gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the Association of Cattle Breeders and Dealers, Oyo State Chapter in Ibadan.

Mrs. Abioye stated that the present administration in the state under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde placed premium on security of lives and properties, adding that the government would not condone any ugly act of miscreants in the state.

According to her, the Oyo State Government would provide adequate security in markets and improve ranching system to enhance sanity in the cattle rearing business.

GOSPEL CORNER: DON’T BE INTIMIDATED BY HOW BIG THE OPPOSITION IS, BY HOW BAD THE MEDICAL REPORT LOOKS, BY THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST YOU.

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.
2 Corinthians 4:8, NLT

Buried

Think about a tiny seed that you plant in the ground. The dirt that’s on top of it is thousands of times heavier, more powerful. The little seed could think, “I was doing fine, then someone buried me.” But what that seed doesn’t know is God already took into account that it would be buried, overwhelmed, surrounded by pressure and forces that are much greater. So God designed into that seed a supernatural life, supernatural strength, supernatural ability. After it’s buried, that seed will germinate and have the strength to push the opposing dirt out of the way, strength to move something many times stronger.

God is showing us that it’s not the size of what you’re up against. What matters is what the Creator put in you. Don’t be intimidated by how big the opposition is, by how bad the medical report looks, by the power of the people who are against you. Like that seed, you have the life of Almighty God. You have the favor of God. You have can-do power. You are stronger than you think.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that no matter what pressures and troubles I face, I can stay in peace knowing that Your life in me is greater than any force that comes against me. I believe and declare that I am stronger than I think, and I will push through and overcome. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

PART TWO:

When the unmerited favor of God is upon you wherever you are, like it was upon Joseph, (1) you cannot help but find favor, (2) everything that you do cannot help but prosper, and (3) you cannot help but experience increase and promotion beyond your wildest imagination!

Can you see that this was the consistent pattern in Joseph’s life? It didn’t matter if he was a slave or prisoner. The same applies to you. When the unmerited favor of God is upon you, you are like a rubber ball in a pool of water. Natural circumstances can try to push you down and keep you suppressed under water, but the unmerited favor of God will always cause you to POP right up to the top!

Don’t be discouraged by your current circumstances. I know things may sometimes appear bleak, dismal and perhaps even devastating, but it ain’t over, my friend. I wrote this book to tell you that it ain’t over! I don’t believe for one moment that among the millions of books in publication right now, you are holding this particular one by chance or coincidence. This is a divine appointment and I believe that God is saying this to you: “Don’t give up. It ain’t over!”

There are many times where the lowest points in your life are actually launching pads to God’s greatest promotion in your life. It was so for Joseph! Let’s rewind the tape and observe the fingerprints of the Lord through the ups and downs of Joseph’s life. If Joseph had not been betrayed by his brothers, he would not have been sold as a slave. If he had not been sold as a slave, he would not have been in Potiphar’s house. If he was not in Potiphar’s house, he would not have been thrown into an Egyptian prison meant specifically for the king’s prisoners. If he was not in that specific prison, he would not have interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh’s officers. If he had not interpreted their dreams, he would not have been summoned to interpret Pharaoh’s dream two years later. If he had not interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, Pharaoh would not have promoted Joseph to become his prime minister over the entire Egyptian empire!

This is what Pharaoh said to Joseph: “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you…. See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:39–41). When we look back, it is clear that the Lord had turned Joseph’s darkest hour into his finest hour!

God’s presence with Joseph and His unmerited favor caused Joseph to be promoted from the pit to the palace, from the dunghill to Capitol Hill, from the outhouse to the White House. Stop looking at your circumstances and stop allowing them to discourage you. The same Lord who was with Joseph is with you right now. You cannot fail! You can expect to see success beyond your present circumstances!

TINUBU APPROVES ESTABLISHMENT OF INFASTRUCURE SUPPORT FUND FOR STATES

FAAC shares N907 billion from N1.9trillion June revenue

SHINA JO

PRESS RELEASE

President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of Infrastructure Support Fund (ISF) for the 36 States of the Federation as part of Measures to cushion the effects of the Petrol Subsidy removal on Nigerians.

According to a statement issued by the special adviser to the president on special duties, communications and startegy Dele Alake, the approval was disclosed at the monthly meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), on Thursday July 20, 2023, in Abuja.

The new Infrastructure Fund will enable the States to intervene and invest in the critical areas of Transportation, including Farm to Market road improvements; Agriculture, encompassing livestock and ranching solutions; Health, with a focus on basic healthcare,Education, especially basic education; Power and Water Resources, that will improve economic competitiveness, create jobs and deliver economic prosperity for Nigerians.

It added that the Committee also resolved to save a portion of the monthly distributable proceeds to minimize the impact of the increased revenues-occasioned by the subsidy removal and exchange rate unification-on money supply, as well as inflation and the exchange rate.

The statement noted that out of the June 2023 distributable revenue of 1.9 trillion Naira, only N907 billion will be distributed among the three tiers of government, while N790 billion will be saved, and the rest will be used for statutory deductions.

These savings he says will complement the efforts of the Infrastructure Support Fund (ISF) and other existing and planned fiscal measures, all aimed at ensuring that the subsidy removal translates into tangible improvements in the lives and living standards of Nigerians.

The Committee commends President Tinubu for the bold decision to remove the Petrol subsidy, and even more importantly, for providing necessary support to the States to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal on Nigerians.

GOSPEL CORNER : “I WILL ARISE AND GO TO MY FATHER, AND WILL SAY TO HIM, ‘FATHER, I HAVE SINNED AGAINST HEAVEN AND BEFORE YOU.’”LUKE 15:18, NKJV

20/07/23

JOEL OSTEEN MINISTRIES
Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.’”
Luke 15:18, NKJV

Dare to Arise
The prodigal son had taken his father’s inheritance and wasted it all on wild living. When he was finally destitute, feeding hogs, he made a decision that changed the course of his life. He was saying, “Yes, I brought this trouble on myself, but I’m not going to sit around condemned. I’m going to arise and go to my father’s house.”

You may have made poor choices. Perhaps you’re not where you thought you would be in life. The accusing voices are telling you, “You’ve blown it too badly. You’ll never reach your dreams.” No, you are one decision away from seeing God show out in your life. The plan He has for you was not cancelled because you took a detour through the hog pen. Those decisions didn’t disqualify you from His favor. All you have to do is arise, shake off the guilt, and go back to your Father. Start making decisions that honor God. Break away from things that are causing you to compromise. God has amazing things in your future if you dare to arise.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that Your mercy is bigger than my mistakes. Thank You that You are not holding my past against me. Thank You that I am forgiven. Thank You that I’m redeemed because of what Jesus did on the cross. I’m coming boldly to Your house right now. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

PART TWO:

Today I want to show you the difference between a blessed man and a cursed man. The Bible is amazingly clear on how you can be a cursed man and what a cursed life looks like. God’s Word also shows you a picture of a blessed man and how you can be that man.

Let’s start with how one can be a cursed man. Jeremiah 17:5 tells us that when a man “trusts in man” and not in the Lord, he becomes a cursed man.

A man who “makes flesh his strength” is also cursed. In this context, “flesh” can be paraphrased as “self-effort.” In other words, we can read verse five as “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes self-effort his strength.”

My friend, there are essentially two ways to live this life. The first is for us to depend and trust entirely in the Lord’s unmerited favor, while the other is to depend on our efforts, and strive and struggle for success. We can never bring about good success that comes from God by depending on our self-efforts. No matter how we strive and struggle, we cannot work for our own righteousness or attain our own forgiveness. Any success that we may achieve is only partial success.

On the other hand, God’s kind of success is complete, whole, and permeates into every facet of our lives—spirit, soul and body. God’s Word says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22). God never gives us success at the expense of our marriage, families, or health. Like I always say to the business people in my church, don’t use all your health to chase after wealth, only to spend all your wealth later to get your health back!

Health and wholeness in your physical body are part of God’s blessings. If you are constantly under tremendous stress and have regular panic attacks because of the nature of your work, then I would encourage you to take a step back and seek the Lord’s counsel. Stress robs you of health, whereas good success from the Lord causes your youth to be renewed.

When you depend on your efforts, you can struggle for many years and get only a certain measure of success. But when you depend on God’s unmerited favor, you can experience accelerated blessings and promotion that years of striving and struggling can never achieve.

Look at the story of Joseph from Genesis 39. He was nothing but a lowly prisoner. Yet, within an hour of meeting Pharaoh, he was promoted to the highest office in the entire Egyptian empire. Beloved, even if you are down and out (like Joseph was) at this point in your life, the Lord can promote you supernaturally in an instant when you choose to put your eyes on Him!
