Fr Nwebe Joy’s Blatant Attacks on Evang Ebuka Obi: The Pull-Him-Down Syndrome

In life (both present and historical), we often hear, see or read about the curious concept of sibling rivalry, brother killing brother, prophet killing prophet, on and on and on. These are dated concepts stemming from jealousy, envy and all other forms of destructive competition. The Biblical story of Joseph the Dreamer and his siblings is an instructive case study. We have read the bestseller by Jeffery Archer titled Kane and Abel. The theme also extends to the Judas syndrome, but how does one explain a persistent, vicious, and misleading attacks against a personality you have never met nor directly related to? Any genuine man of God will not descend from his exalted office of preaching the gospel, spreading love, hope and charity to be criticizing and condemning his fellow labourer in the vineyard of God just as Fr Nwebe Joy is doing to Evangelist Ebuka Obi.
For proper context, Fr Nwebe Joy, is a clergyman ordained some ten years ago, whose congregation scattered immediately thereafter.
Among the grouses and contentions of Fr Nwebe against the Evangelist is that Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s virgin purity posturing has harvested most traditional Igbo Catholics into the Zion Movement fold. He also Faults the open raw deliverance practice of the Evangelist, which he claims strips the candidates of dignity. This fault-finding goes against the Biblical statement that Christ prevailed over demons and made open show of them in triumph! Evangelist Ebuka Obi operates by inspiration and his method certainly propagates the deliverance gospel better than the secret method! This barrage of pontification is coming from a man well known for his philandering antecedents (for those who know) In plain words, Fr Nwebe is rumoured to be enjoying the joys of the opposite gender in a manner specifically against the chastity vows of the office of a priest.
In an apparent attempt to discourage some believers in the diaspora (whom Fr Nwebe must have perceived to be key financial members) he claims the Evangelist is using the virtues of the Americans! How ridiculous can a supposed Man of God get to be? In another episode, Fr Nwebe claimed he visited a member of Ebuka Obi’s Zion ministry and discovered SHE was not wearing a BRA! How come? Meanwhile he stayed with her for the night! What’s going on?
In one video available in the public domain Fr Nwebe, in an attempt to debunk the chastity tenets of the Evangelist, issued a curse by pulling his footwear to connect to the bare soil, a practice which I found disturbing as an exclusive practice of traditionalist and highly unbecoming of a genuine man of God.
Close watchers are finding it difficult to comprehend why Evangelist Ebuka has not taken a drastic action against the antagonism of Fr Nwebe by prosecuting him for a clear case of cyber-bullying and blackmail or report him to the parent Catholic authorities at the Vatican. Is Fr Nwebe now a full-time blogger or an influencer paid to mudsling his colleague? Is there a puppet master behind this whole charade? Only time will tell!
One thing is clear – Fr Nwebe is gravitating to the status of Prophet Killer just as the brothers of Joseph in the Bible case study, who out of envy declared: here comes the dreamer; Let us kill him now, and see what becomes of his lofty dreams! Shall he also rule over us, his elder brothers?
Let me, on this note, implore the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria and all the Generals in the body of Christ to caution Fr Nwebe Joy against his pull-him-down practices. His actions are disgraceful, ignoble and undoubtedly highlights of envy, jealousy and resentment. Such attacks are detrimental to the image of the church and its missions. A kingdom divided against itself, will not stand the test of time. Shalom!

The Coming One
It’s significant that right after the writer of Hebrews talked about having patient endurance when it comes to the promises of God, he refers to God as the Coming One. This is saying that while you’re waiting, while thoughts of doubt are trying to talk you out of it, you need to have this image of God as the Coming One. He is not the delayed one, not the forgot-about-you one, not the you-don’t-deserve-it one, not the it’s-too-late one. Have a new perspective. The God we serve is coming with healing, coming with favor, coming with salvation for your children, coming with that dream He put in your heart, coming with freedom for your loved one, coming with abundance for your family. Thoughts will tell you, “It’s never going to happen.” No, the Coming One is already on the way with whatever you need. When you know this, it’s easy to wait with expectancy. It’s easy to believe when you don’t see a sign. You know God as not just your Savior, not just as your Creator, but you know Him as the Coming One.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your unlimited favor and supply of everything I need in this life. Thank You for Your strength in difficult times and the expectancy that at any moment You can turn things around. Whether You do it gradually or suddenly, I will rest in You. I declare You are the Coming One. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Is it practical to be occupied with Jesus? Does it help you? Does it put food on the table? Does it prosper your finances? Does it make your physical body healthy?
Let’s take a look at what it did for Mary. You can find the story of Mary and her sister, Martha, in Luke 10:38–42.
Mary was seated at Jesus’ feet when the Lord came to visit them. Martha, the elder sister, was busy working in the kitchen, ensuring that there was enough food and drink for their guest.
Who was Martha busy serving? Jesus. And while Martha was frantically running in and out of the kitchen, Mary was sitting at Jesus’ feet, beholding His beauty, beholding His glory, and hanging on to every word that proceeded from His lips.
While Mary was resting and drawing living water from Jesus, Martha was restless, frantic, and stressed from serving Jesus. One sister was focused on serving, while the other was focused on receiving.
Look what happened after a while. Martha’s stress from serving finally led to this outburst of frustration: “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me” (Luke 10:40). In one moment of anger, she blamed two persons: The Lord Jesus as well as her sister Mary.
Now, listen closely to Jesus’ response, and you may just find yourself in the Lord’s description of Martha: “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
What is the “one thing” that is needful? Is it to busy yourself in serving the Lord? Is it to be troubled about many things? No, the one thing that is needful is for you to sit at Jesus’ feet, and keep your eyes, ears, and heart on Him.
One sister saw Jesus in the natural, needing her ministry. The other sister saw Him as God veiled in flesh with a fullness to draw upon. Which sister do you suppose complimented Jesus and made Him feel like the God that He is?
Mary.
Martha obviously forgot that this God-Man multiplied loaves and fishes to feed a multitude. He has not come to be fed but to feed!
Now, is it practical to just be occupied with Jesus? Absolutely. We find that later, in the Gospel of John, Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair to prepare Him for His burial (John 12:3–8).
On resurrection morning, some women came with ointment to anoint Jesus’ body, but it was too late then. They were doing the right thing, but at the wrong time. The Lord had already risen. But Mary did the right thing at the right time.
This shows us that when you do the one thing that is needful, you will end up doing the right thing at the right time, and God will cause all that you touch to be amazingly blessed!
When we trust in our Father’s love for us, we will have the power to say no to temptations. easy to say no to sin.

It is the Father’s love for you that gives you the power to overcome every mistake, failure, and sin in your life. The Bible puts it this way: “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace” (Rom. 6:14 NLT).
Isn’t that beautiful? Today you are living under the freedom of God’s amazing grace—His unmerited, undeserved, and unearned favor in your life. Grace gives you freedom. Freedom from lack, from fear, from addictions, from the torment of guilt, and from every curse and every sin! The more you experience the love and grace of your heavenly Father, the more you fall in love with Him and out of love with sin.
Did you know that the enemy has no hold over people who know their Father loves them? If Adam and Eve had believed in God’s love for them, the devil would not have been successful in tempting them. Unfortunately, they chose to believe the lie that the serpent had planted by portraying God as stingy and selfish, as if He was withholding something good from them.
That’s why I want you to be anchored in the Father’s love. You will be unshakable. You will have no desire to touch certain things, go to certain places, or be associated with certain people. You will keep away from negative influences because you trust your Father’s heart for you and believe that He only wants what’s best for you. You rest, knowing that He is watching out for you to protect you and insulate you from harm.
I’ve seen that children who are secure in their father’s love are able to say no to all kinds of temptations. This is because that vacuum in their lives is already filled. They don’t have to do things to win the approval of their friends when they can find absolute security, identity, and approval in their parents’ love for them and, most of all, in their heavenly Father’s love for them.
In the same way, when we trust in our Father’s love for us, we will have the power to say no to temptations. When you have an abiding revelation of just how valuable, precious, and righteous you are in Christ, it becomes increasingly easy to say no to sin.
The more righteousness-conscious you are and the more conscious of how valuable and precious you are in Christ, the more you will know that your righteous identity in Christ and sin don’t go together—and the more you will experience the power to say no to temptation.
WAEC REFUTES SPREAD ING RUMOURS OF RESULTS CANCELLATION

The West African Examinations council (WAEC) has asked people to disregard ongoing rumours spreading about examination cancellation.
In a statement signed by the Acting head public affairs WAEC, Moyosore Adesina said the statement being circulated did not emanate from the council stating that the examination has not been cancelled noting that the source of that information can not be ascertained,the council noted that the false claim is being peddled by mischief makers.
WAEC said that the making of scripts has just been concluded and results will be released on or before the 4th August 2025.
The council said it’s attention has been drawn to a press statement alleging the cancellation of all papers written in the just concluded wassce for school candidates 2025.
The dated July 19th 2025 circulated on social media platforms that the federal ministry of education in collaboration with WAEC had cancelled the said examination due to examination malpractice, unauthorized digital dissemination of exam materials.

John 4 tells the story of a shunned Samaritan woman who encountered Jesus when she came to draw water at a well. When she asked Jesus why He (a Jew) would ask her (a despised Samaritan) for a drink of water, this was His amazing response: that she would ask Him for living water, the only thing that would satisfy her from within and slake her deep thirst for acceptance and love forever.
What an amazing Savior! Although this woman had a past of looking for love in all the wrong places that imprisoned her in shame and self-loathing, Jesus met her at her point of greatest need with the offer of Himself, the living water. He knew all that she had ever done and yet offered her the true intimacy that fully satisfies every aching need. He invited her to discover, taste, and experience His perfect and unconditional love.
Jesus is saying the same thing to you today: If you only knew who it is who comes to you in your darkest and weakest moments. If you only knew this gift of God who will never leave you nor forsake you, who has gone before you and who comes to you in the midst of your storms. If you only knew the One who reaches out to you even when you have failed and who doesn’t hold your past mistakes or present failures against you.
Beloved, if you only knew this gift of God who offers the living water of His unconditional, endless love to you and you drink of that love, you will never thirst again. You won’t need to look for love or acceptance in all the wrong places, have your heart broken and fearful about the future, and have your life derailed. You can wake up with a fresh expectation of good every day.
Jesus was essentially inviting the woman to ask Him for the living water of His love. Will you do that today? Your life will never be the same again when you personally experience His love!
Stay committed and loyal when your relationships are troubled. Keep doing the right thing when it’s difficult. Keep being your best when it’s not fair. It may not be easy, but you have what it takes. God is in control.

Love and Loyalty
Most people say that at some point in their life, it’s hard to stay committed to their marriage, to their dream, to their job, to a friend. It’s been said that halfway through on the road to your destiny, you’ll feel like giving up. Some people give in and go back when it’s no longer exciting, growing, and going their way. The other people stay committed and keep moving forward no matter how they’re feeling.
The dreams God has put in your heart, the promises you’re standing on, may be taking longer than you thought. You don’t see any sign of it happening. That’s a test. Are you going to get discouraged and give up on what you’re believing for? Stay committed and loyal when your relationships are troubled. Keep doing the right thing when it’s difficult. Keep being your best when it’s not fair. It may not be easy, but you have what it takes. God is in control. Dig your heels in and say, “I’m in it for the long haul.” Be committed to love and loyalty and never giving up.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You have never been wishy-washy in Your commitment to love me at all times. Thank You that I have the can-do power to be steadfast when it’s hard. Help me to stay committed in all my relationships and in my work, to be someone others can always count on. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
SECTION TWO
There was a time under the law in the Old Testament where God would be with you only when you were in complete obedience. But when you failed, He would leave you.
Today, however, you and I are under a completely different covenant and God will never leave us. Why? Because of what Jesus did on the cross.
At the cross, He became our burnt offering. He bore our sins and carried our punishment. God’s judgment against our sins fell upon Jesus, who was forsaken at the cross by His Father so that today, we can have God’s constant, unceasing presence in our lives.
Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” so that you and I will know exactly what happened on the cross (Matt. 27:46). That is where the divine exchange took place. At the cross, Jesus took our sins and gave up the presence of God, while we took Jesus’ righteousness and received the presence of God that Jesus had. God’s presence is now ours for eternity. What a divine exchange!
Take a look with me at what the Bible says about our inheritance in Christ: “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'” (Heb. 13:5–6). What confidence we can have today!
Do you know what “never” here means? It means that when you are up, He is with you. When you are down, He is with you. When you are glad, He is with you. When you are sad, He is with you. When you are doing right, He is with you. Even when you have failed, He is still with you! That is what it means when Jesus said that He would never leave you nor forsake you!
Because Jesus, your prosperity, peace, provision, and wisdom, is always with you, you cannot help but prosper!

DG NAPTIP CAUTIONS PARENTS AGAINST LEAVING THEIR CHILDREN IN THE CARE OF UNTRUSTED NEIGHBOURS AND CASUAL FRIENDS TO AVOID CHILD TRAFFICKING AND STEALING
……..AS THE AGENCY REUNITES THE STOLEN CHILD WITH PARENTS IN YOBE STATE
Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, OON, has cautioned parents across the Country against leaving their children in the care of casual friends, untrusted neighbours, and one–off service providers, saying that such a situation makes children vulnerable to trafficking and theft.
She stated this during the reunification of a five-year-old victim, Rahama Ibrahim, with her parents in Damaturu, Yobe State.
The Director General was represented by Mr. Saleh Zakar, the Commander, Yobe State Command.
Rahama was abducted in Damaturu a few months ago by a driver suspected of being involved in criminal activity of child theft. She was subsequently intercepted and apprehended in Abuja by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). The suspect and her accomplice have been charged to Court in Abuja.
The event took place at the Government House in Damaturu, in the presence of His Excellency, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, with the active involvement of operatives of the DSS, Yobe Command.
Speaking after receiving the child, the father, Mallam Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the Director General of NAPTIP, Binta Adamu Bello, OON, for her effort in ensuring adequate care for the child.
“I want to thank the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Director General of NAPTIP, for assisting my family in taking very good care of my daughter, who was stolen from us. When I came here now and see my daughter, she is very neat and well taken care of. I thank the DG and all other Officers of NAPTIP. This Agency is doing a great work, and I thank them very much”, the visibly happy father of Rahama said.
In his remarks, the Yobe State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, commended NAPTIP under the watch of the Director General, Binta Adamu Bello, for its proactive counter trafficking activities and successful reintegration of the Child. He assured the Agency of the support of the Yobe State Government.
In her speech, the Director General, who thanked the Department of State Service (DSS) for its sustained support and collaboration with the Agency, which culminated in the arrest of the suspect in Abuja, called on parents to ensure adequate care and protection for their children.
“I want to appeal to parents across the Country to be vigilant and keep an eye on their children. It is very dangerous to keep your children in the care of strangers who come your way casually. Parent should also desist from sending their children on errands unaccompanied or a lonely road in the odd hours.
“On our part, we shall continue to ensure the protection of Nigerian children, and we thank all our partners who have continued to support our work”, Binta Adamu Bello said.
Once you involve the Lord and put Him into your bitter waters, He will turn the bitterness into sweetness.

A Trouble Tree . We all have to deal with stress and pressure, but you need to create a joyful atmosphere in your home. Don’t bring in negativity from the outside. Don’t bring in pressures from work or stress from school or the offense from what somebody said. Your home needs to be a retreat from all the negative things you have to deal with during the day. There is a man who has a tree in a pot next to his back door. He was walking in with a friend, and he stopped and touched the tree. His friend asked him what he was doing. He said, “That’s my trouble tree. I leave all my troubles on this plant. I don’t take any worry inside. I leave the problems, the stress, the disappointments, the offenses at the door.”
Are you living stressed out, somber, uptight, on edge? If you bring in worry and stress and strife, that’s going to weigh you and your family down. Get a trouble tree and make the change today. Leave the negative outside. Make sure your home is a joyful place.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that no matter what my circumstances are that I don’t have to live stressed and frustrated and bring it home to my loved ones. Thank You that You are a very present help in trouble and that I can leave it with You. I will choose joy because You are my refuge and strength. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
SECTION TWO
Jesus makes everything beautiful in your life. I want to encourage you to see Him in the midst of everything that you do and learn to bring Him into the picture.
When you look at your past, the scars of yesterday may still be throbbing in your memories. Perhaps you were emotionally hurt by someone you trusted. Perhaps you grew up in a dysfunctional family.
As you look back now, you may still feel angry, frustrated, and disappointed all at the same time, and the hurt still pierces your heart. But in the midst of your pain, start involving Jesus.
See the Lord holding you, gently healing your wounds. Jesus is right there restoring you, putting courage into your heart and taking away all the sense of shame and guilt.
Beloved, He wants you to know that your past will not determine the future that He has for you. Once you involve the Lord and put Him into your bitter waters, He will turn the bitterness into sweetness.
That is what the Lord did for the children of Israel. When they came to a place called Marah, they could not drink its waters because they were bitter. Moses cried out to the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree, which Moses cast into the waters. When he did that, the Bible says that “the waters were made sweet.”
Why did the foul-tasting, undrinkable waters become refreshing and sweet? The answer lies in the tree that was cast in. The tree is a picture of the cross on which our Lord Jesus hung, bearing every broken heart and every sting of betrayal.
When you bring Jesus into your situation, He can cause every bitter experience to become sweet! Talk to Him and allow His presence to restore you to wholeness today!

Dealing with Anxiety
David was the warrior king who defeated Goliath and led the Israelites into great victories. But in today’s Scripture, David was so overwhelmed with serious anxiety that he was shaking. Dealing with anxiety doesn’t mean that you’re weak, that you don’t have enough faith, or that you must have done something wrong. The enemy attacks you with anxiety because he knows there’s greatness in you, that you’re on the verge of seeing a new level. He’ll try to make you feel overwhelmed, fearful about the future, thinking it’s not going to work out. As with David, thoughts will tell you, “This anxiety is never going to change. You’ll always have to deal with this feeling that something is wrong.”
Don’t believe those lies. The anxiety shall pass. Sometimes God will bring you out quickly. Other times He’ll take you little by little. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see anything changing. God is working. Every day you need to declare, “I’m getting better. My mind is at peace. My heart is at rest. I am free from this anxiety.”
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that Your strength in difficult times is the source of my security. I refuse to be overwhelmed by problems because You will bring me through to victory. I declare that I am resting in the Almighty God who is greater than anything I face. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
SECTION TWO
When we read about the story of Daniel found in Daniel 6, we see that Daniel made a habit of praying three times a day. Now, depending on how established you are in God’s grace, you can interpret that as a religious routine, or you can see his dedicated prayer time as an outward expression of his intimate relationship with the Lord.
Please be clear about this. I am not saying that if we want to be protected like Daniel, we have to pray three times a day. What I am saying is that protection is a result of closeness and intimacy with the Lord.
There are no formulas, steps, or shortcuts to walking in divine protection. Simply walk close with the Lord and you will unconsciously be under the shadow of His wings.
Don’t just pursue the protection, seek the Protector! You can recite Psalm 91 fifty times a day, but if you have no relationship with Jesus, there will be no results.
The prayer of protection is not transactional; it is relational.
You’ve missed the point if you have to ask how many times a day you should pray. That is equivalent to asking your spouse, “How many times a day must I kiss you?” I wouldn’t want my wife, Wendy, to ask me that!
Relationships are birthed from the heart. They are not governed by formulas, rules, or algorithms. You kiss your spouse because of love. It is not an obligation; it is a privilege and pleasure.
In the same way, don’t mechanize your relationship with God. Every day, you can choose whether or not to meditate on His love for you. Daniel chose to do it three times a day. We can learn from that without turning it into a dry formula.
What Daniel had was an intimate relationship with the Lord. I pray that you will have this too. The Bible tells us that in his daily prayers, Daniel was always giving thanks to God.
It is so good to live with thanksgiving in your heart toward the Lord. Each and every day, there are so many things that our Lord protects us from that we are not even aware of.
Give thanks to Him for His love for you. Praise Him and set your mind daily toward Him. Be so conscious of how close you are to Him and how utterly loved you are—and enjoy the protection that comes from being found in the shadow of His wings!
