NIGERIA GOVERNMENT THROUGH THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION NNPC HAS LAID THE FOUNDATION OF A 200 BED CAPACITY INFECTIOUS AND DISEASE CONTROL HOSPITAL IN KAITA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF KATSINA STATE.

ACCORDING TO THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION AND CHAIRMAN PRESIDENTIAL TASKFORCE ON COVID-19 BOSS MUSTAPHA, WHEN THE HOSPITAL IS COMPLETED,IT IS TO ALSO SERVE THE POST COVID-19 DISEASES AND NEIGHBOURING STATES IN THE NORTHWEST REGION.

THE GROUND BREAKING FOUNDATION LAYING CEREMONY FOR THE 200 BED CAPACITY INFECTIOUS AND EMERGENCY DISEASE CONTROL HOSPITAL WAS DONE IN THE PRESENCE OF SOME LOCALS FROM AROUND KAITA, THE HOST COMMUNITY.

SPEAKING AT THE EVENT, THE GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR OF NNPC, MELE KYARI SAID THE HOSPITAL IN KATSINA IS ONE AMONG THE 12 PROJECTS ACROSS THE 6 GEOPOLITICAL ZONES IN THE COUNTRY TO CONTRIBUTE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 AND OTHER RELATED DISEASES.

DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF KATSINA STATE MANNIR YAKUBU SAID, THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HOSPITAL WILL COMPLEMENT THE EFFORTS OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT IN PROVIDING QUALITY HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE, PRAYING THAT THE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETED ON SCHEDULE WITHIN 18 MONTHS.

UPDATE : ANOTHER 42 COVID-19 PATIENTS DISCHARGED IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Government on Saturday discharged 42 patients from various Isolation centres in the state having recovered fully and tested negative twice consecutively for COVID-19.

According to Governor Sanwo-Olu in a Statement,

“42 fully recovered COVID-19 Lagos patients; 11 females and 31 males have been discharged from our Isolation facilities today (Saturday June 6th, 2020) to reunite with the society.”

The patients; 20 from Gbagada, 11 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) and 11 from Lekki Isolation Centres were discharged today after testing negative to COVID-19.

This brings to 994, the number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos.”
