NIGERIA GETS TEST KITS FOR COVID-19 WORTH SEVERAL MILLIONS OF NAIRA FROM JACK MA

The Nigerian Government on Wednesday received some test kits and protective gears donated to Africa by Chinese business tycoon, Jack Ma.

The items include 100,000 masks, 20,000 test kits, PPEs, among others arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Wednesday morning.

Jack Ma a Chinese billionaire had earlier announced the donation of 1.1 million testing kits and six million masks to fight covid-19 Africa.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Abdulaziz Abdullahi, who received them at the airport, the 20,000 test kits will be distributed to the five laboratories in the country.

This no doubt will contribute a great deal to help improve on testing for the disease

With effect from Thursday 26th March 2020,All Markets And Stalls in Lagos state are to suspend Business.

The Order was given by Governor Babajide during a live Broadcast on Tuesday in move to curtail the spread of the covid-19 in the state .

The Governor advised Residents to adhere to basic hygiene rules as well as the social distancing strategy.

The Chief of Staff to Nigeria President Abba KYARI has been confirmed positive to COVID-19.

He was tested for the virus when he began to exhibit some symptoms of COVID-19 and he tested positive.

ABBA KYARI has just returned from Germany a place where COVID-19 is endemic.

Ten Nigerian Senators And Fifteen Members of the House of Representatives have been reported to covid-19 .

Also there is a report coming from the Senate about the death of Rose Oko.

Senator Rose Oko was reported dead on Monday night at her Abuja residence after returning from a medical trip from the U. K

Born on the 27 September 1956, Senator Rose Okoji Oko is a Nigerian politician and senator representing Northern Cross River In the National Assembly.

She was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Cross River State and represented the People of Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency in Nigeria’s 7th class of the National Assembly.

She has been a a member of the national Assembly since June 2011
and sat as Deputy Chairman House Committee on Education.

Reports are however not clear for now if she died of COVID-19

The Nigeria Centre for disease control confirms four more cases of covid-19.

Three cases in Lagos and one in the federal capital.

Two of these cases are returning travellers

This brings the total of course firmed cases to 40.

There are reports that about thirty five senators who just returned from a conference in the U.K may have been affected

The said Senators after a return trip from the U.K where they attended the petroleum industry workshop in London,a place where the covid-19 outbreak is endemic.

The Senators at risk here are members of the Senate committee on Upstream Downstream and gas.

Two Female Senators are among among, and since their return on March 14,they have been resuming at the Chambers to Participate in Legislative activities, an action that poses a great Danger to other Members of the upper Chamber.

A Sixty seven year old man has denied of covid-19 in Nigeria, making the first death recorded since the spread of the virus to Nigeria

The victim who died at the Gwagwalada hospital in the early hours of Monday morning .He was a retiree of the Nigeria national petroleum corporation,and returned from the U.K about Ten days ago, he was on self isolation before he developed complications from the virus and later died.

The deceased man was reported to have been on treatment for other ailment before he tested positive to covid-19.
