Christian Social Movement of Nigeria and National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF), invites every Christian to listen and hear the CRY OF THE MARTYRS. In the flurry of outcry against insecurity and bad governance in the country, we are beginning to lose sight of the humanitarian crisis that has engulfed the Christian community and its responsibility as Christians to resolve.

*WHY EVERY CHRISTIAN SHOULD SUPPORT PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS*

▪God commands it.
– “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction …” James 1: 27

– “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” Heb. 13: 3

– “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.” 1 Cor. 12: 26

▪When the Lord shall return, He shall separate the nations as sheep and goats. The yardstick to judge them shall be how they treated His people in affliction.

“… Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matt. 25: 31 – 46
It is wise to support persecuted Christians.

▪Our collective security depends on the survival of Christians in Nigeria, particularly in the North and Middle Belt. Christians nationwide must reinforce the Middle Belt so that it does not collapse under the assault of the Islamists. The Christians in the North must be supported, protected, and encouraged to be pro-active in a non-violent way.
For years, the Islamists used the Middle Belt to leverage their hold on power. Now, they want to possess the entire Zone. Christians must take a look at the map of Nigeria and see the wide expanse Islamists will control if they should succeed.
No non-Islamist would be safe, including moderate Muslims.
It is in our interest to support the persecuted Nigerians, especially Christians.

▪“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13: 35
The love of Christ constrains us to respond to the suffering of fellow Christians.

▪“And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.” Luke 6: 31
We invite you to imagine if you were the person whose loved ones were killed and you have been driven out of your home with nothing left on you. How you would like people to respond to your needs, please respond likewise to this call.

We may also wish to consider, “how much is the suffering of Christ worth to us, individually?”

Some Angry Youths who identified themselves as Ex-Millitant are not pleased with the federal government for failure to integrate them in Amnesty programme after laying down their arms.

The aggrieved Youths protested from Ilaje/Ese Odo Local Government areas of ondo state to the Governor’s office with placards bearing different inscription

The ex-agitators accused government of insensitivity to their plights by failing to facilitate the amnesty programme after being captured under the 2017 Amnesty programme. #

Tony Iwelu Chief Security Officer to the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi is dead.

According to a press statement issued by the director press and public relations of the ministry Eric Ojiekwe, Iwelu died of electrocution in an Hotel bath Room in Kaduna where they logged after an official assignment on Monday, 17th of February twenty twenty.

Until his death, Iwelu was in charge of all issues concerning the Minister’s security.

Many have continued to extol him,and the professionalism he brought to bear in the discharge of his duties that sustained him for over two decades .

Late Iwelu is from Delta State,and has been described by many a vibrant, honest, kindhearted, loyal and easygoing young man .

He is survived by a Wife and Three Children

The newly sworn in Governor of Bayelsa State Douye Diri has called for a senergy between the legislature, Executives and the Judiciary to promote Unity, Peace And progress in Bayelsa state.

Duoye was speaking during a visit by members of the State’s house of Assembly to government house Yenagoa in Monday to congratulate him on his inauguration and promise of support.

Monday was the first day of work for the new Governor after his inauguration on the Fourteenth of February as the fifth executive governor of Bayelsa state.

He used the opportunity to appeal for a speed up in the passage of the state’s 2020 budget.

THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH, SENATOR OLORUNNIMBA MAMORA AND THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE WEST AFRICAN HEALTH ORGANIZATION PROFESSOR STANLEY OKOLO HAVE DISCLOSED PLANS BY ECOWAS MINISTERS OF HEALTH TO PREVENT AND MANAGE ANY POSSIBLE OUTBREAK OF COVID -19 IN THE REGION.

THEY MADE THIS KNOWN AT A PRESS BRIEFING WITH NEWSMEN IN ABUJA ON MONDAY WHICH WAS A FALL OUT OF THE BAMAKO MEETING IN MALI.

THE BAMAKO MEETING BECAME NECESSARY GIVEN THE URGENCY TO MAP OUT STRATEGIES TO PROTECT THE REGIONS’ POPULATION AGAINST THE VIRAL INFECTIOUS DISEASE.

AT THE MEETING THEY RESOLVED TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL GUIDANCE AND TOOLS FOR MEMBER STATES AS WELL AS STEP UP PROACTIVE MEASURES TO PREVENT THE VIRUS AT VARIOUS POINTS OF ENTRY.

ONE OF THE CRITICAL STEPS IN PREPAREDNESS AS IDENTIFIED BY THIS D.G OF WAHO PROFESSOR OKOLO DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY DETECTION AND MONITORING WAS TO INCREASE DIAGNOSTIC CAPACITY, AND THIS HE NOTED HAS IMPROVED IN AFRICA.

THE MINISTERS WHO EXPRESSED GRATITUDE TO THE PRESIDENT OF MALI IBRAHIM BOUBACAR KEITA AND PEOPLE OF MALI FOR THE WARM RECEPTION DURING THE MEETING,SAID THAT MEMBER STATES WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH RELEVANT AUTHORITIES AND CHINESE GOVERNMENT TO MONITOR AND ASSESS THE HEALTH SITUATION OF ECOWAS CITIZENS RESIDENT IN CHINA.

THEY ALSO COMMENDED THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT’S EFFORTS IN MANAGING THE EPIDEMIC.

A GHASTLY ROAD CRASH INVOLVING HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS HAS OCCURED IN KUTIGI TOWN IN LAVUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF NIGER STATE .

THE ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED AT ABOUT 9PM ON MONDAY ACCORDING TO EYE WITNESES INVOLVED OVER TWO HUNDRED PEOPLE AND WAS SUSPECTED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY BRAKE FAILURE OF ONE OF THE TRAILERS.

ACCORDING TO SOME EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT,THE TRAILERS WERE SAID TO BE COMING FROM OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS WHILE THE SECOND VEHICLE WAS HEADING TO MOKWA FROM BIDA.

Zambia, Ghana, Burundi And The Democratic Republic Of Congo have licensed Ervebo,an EBOLA Vaccine produced by Merck’s for use.

The Vaccine pre-qualified by the World Health Organization according to a press release is expected in additional Countries in the coming weeks.

By this latest development, the manufacturer is to distribute the Vaccine enmass to African Countries at risk of the disease outbreak

The Vaccine according to experts has shown to be safe and protective against the Zaire Strain of Ebola Virus.

The Vaccine is said to consist of a vesicular stomatitis Virus which is an animal virus that causes flu like illness in humans.

THE GOVERNMENT OF LAGOS STATE HAS COMMENCED THE ENFORCEMENT OF ITS LAW TO REGULATE BORE HOLES DRILLING IN THE STATE.

BY THIS LAW THOSE WHO WANT TO DRILL BOREHOLE WILL NEED TO OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE STATE’S WATER REGULATORY COMMISSION WHILE THE BOREHOLE DRILLING COMPANY WILL REQUIRE A PERMIT.

COMMISSIONER FOR ENVIRONMENT AND WATER RESOURCES TUNJI BELLO WHO MADE THIS ANNOUNCEMENT SAID THE NEW REGULATIONS BECAME NECCESSARY TO CHECK INDISCRIMINATE WATER ABSTRACTION THROUGH BOREHOLES IN THE STATE THAT COULD LEAD TO OUTBREAK OF DISEASE OR EXTINCTION OF UNDERGROUND WATER BODIES
