Psalm 103 is one of my favorite psalms of David, a beautiful psalm that describes who and what God really is—a gracious and merciful Savior. Believing right begins with what you believe about God and must be based on the solid foundation of God’s Word.
To know the truth about who and what God is, we can’t go by feelings, circumstances, human conjectures, or what we may have heard someone say about God. We have to go to the source!
If you heard a rumor that someone you knew was saying horrible and negative things about you, don’t believe it immediately. Go to the source first. Ask this person if this is what he or she really said or if this is what he or she really meant.
Many people allow precious friendships and relationships to become fractured because they believe the rumors. They become bitter, angry, and disappointed without ever verifying with the person if he or she had actually said those nasty things.
In the same way, in the world we live in, there are all kinds of wrong beliefs perpetuated about God: “God is angry at you.” “He is disappointed with you.” “God is allowing all these negative things to happen to you because He’s punishing you for your past sins.”
Please do NOT believe all this baseless gossip about God! Such impressions of God have damaged many people’s relationshi³pps with Him, and they live with a distorted perspective of who God really is.
Instead of receiving His love, grace, and forgiveness, they become afraid, distant, and fearful of Him. Instead of allowing Jesus to come into their situations, they live their lives running away, avoiding, and hiding from Him.
Come on, let’s honor God and go to the source. Look again at what the Bible says about Him in today’s Scripture reading: He is “slow to anger, and abounding in mercy . . . as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
This is our God! This is why you can always run to Him and believe that you can freely receive His help!
Today’s Scripture To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1, AMPC
New Seasons It’s important that we hold on to our dreams, that we keep standing in faith, but we also have to realize that God is in control of the seasons of our life. Sometimes you’ve been enjoying a fall harvest season, reaping some fruit for being faithful, enjoying the warmth of some relationships, prospering in your work. But then the season changes, and you come into winter. What was working so well stops. A relationship cools. You feel stuck in your job. If you’re stubborn, you try to force things back into the way it used to be, which only leads to frustration. Be open to what God is doing. Some of the things we’re worried about, losing sleep over, and trying to make work out are simply the hand of God changing the season. We don’t realize He is moving people out, making us uncomfortable, and pushing us into our purpose. He’s saying, “You had a good season, you enjoyed it, but to see the new things I have in store, that season is finished. Trust me with your new season.”
A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You that You change the times and seasons of my life, and You know what is best for me. Thank You that You’re always working behind the scenes on my behalf. Help me to stay open to what You’re doing and not be stuck in the past season. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Our Lord Jesus came to reveal the name “Father.” Father speaks of family and of closeness and intimacy.
You can know God as Elyon, the Most High. As El Shaddai, God Almighty. As Yehovah, the Lord, the covenant-keeping God. As Elohim, mighty Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Every name is so significant as each one reveals a wonderful aspect of our God. But when you know God as Father, all His virtues, attributes, and power work for you to set you on high and deliver you.
Our Lord Jesus prayed, “Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are” (John 17:11).
The Greek word for “keep” here is the word tereo, which means to attend to carefully, to take care of, to guard, to watch, and to preserve. What is the name through which you will be kept guarded and protected? FATHER.
Beloved, I want you to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have a heavenly Father who loves you, who gave up His all for you, and who is vigilantly watching over you!
He is your Father. Your Daddy. Your Abba.
That is the name by which He wants you to call Him. When my son, Justin, has a nightmare, he doesn’t call out, “Pastor Prince!” He just cries out, “Abba!” and I am there, ready to take on any monsters hiding under his bed.
In the same way, you can have complete assurance that when you call upon your Father, He will answer you. You can have full confidence in your Father’s protection and deliverance for you and your family, not because of your love for Him, but because of His love for you.
Today’s Scripture The angel of the LORD appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the LORD is with you!…Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!” Judges 6:12, 14, NLT
How You See Yourself. God called Gideon a mighty hero while he was hiding in a winepress, afraid, intimidated by the Midianite army. God called him to be a deliverer, a history maker, when he saw himself as limited, inferior, at a disadvantage, unable to do it. Gideon started making excuses. His weak, defeated mentality almost kept him from his destiny. After some more encouragement, he finally made this switch and saw himself as powerful.
The question is, how do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as strong, confident, and favored, or as Gideon saw himself? Are you seeing everything else as powerful, but not yourself? One touch of God’s favor can turn around whatever you’re facing. You’re looking at how big your problem is. You need to start looking at how big your God is. He says He’s with you, and He has made you a mighty hero. When thoughts come telling you that you’re weak, not enough, at a disadvantage, just say, “You have the wrong person. I know who I am. I’m a child of the Most High God, and that makes me very powerful.”
A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You for the strength that rises within me whenever I remember how big You are and what You have done in my life. Thank You for the times You have delivered my mind from the clutter of fears and doubts. I believe that You are making me into a mighty hero. In Jesus’ Name,
SECTION TWO
It is interesting to listen to how some Christians talk. You may hear them talking about what the devil did to them, how they got really mad at the devil, and how they spent a whole night rebuking the devil.
Such Christians may also go around town telling people what the devil has been telling them, but you don’t really hear them talking about what the Lord has been telling them. Guess what? They are tuned in to the wrong frequency!
Instead of magnifying Jesus and His presence and being conscious of Him, they are magnifying the devil and being more devil-conscious than Jesus-conscious. It’s really sad! They are always talking about warfare and the devil.
Do you know that the best warfare to engage in is to magnify the Lord Jesus in your life? The Bible declares, “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered.” Amen!
Recently, I had a conversation with a medical doctor about spiritual warfare. She said to me, “When there is a condition in your body, you must know what the correct medical name for it is so that you can pray against it accurately.” Then, she told me somewhat smugly, “As someone who’s been in the army, you should know this: the most important military strategy is to know your enemy.”
I smiled at her and said, “Actually, I believe that the most important military strategy is not to know your enemy, but to know your commander in chief and his directives for you.”
My friend, do you know your commander in chief, Jesus Christ? Do you know with full assurance that His presence and unmerited favor are with you? Start practicing the presence of Jesus in your life today, and see what a difference He will bring to your situation!
Today’s Scripture By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me. Psalm 41:11, ESV
Take Time Every Day Today, look back over your life at all those places where God has done unusual, uncommon things that showed He delights in you. Don’t take them for granted. They are a big deal. God gave you breath to breathe for today. He woke you up this morning. He’s the One who sustains you. He protects you from things you know nothing about. You’re still standing inspite of the disappointment, the loss. You’re still healthy, still blessed. If it had not been for the goodness of God, where would you be?You may have been under attack in your health, but the enemy couldn’t finish you off. You may be up against some big obstacles, but God is saying, “Am I not the God who parted the Red Sea? Am I not the God who closed the mouths of lions? Am I not the God who has brought you this far, who has protected you, promoted you, favored you, and made ways where you didn’t see a way?” Take time every day to thank God for what He’s done.
A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You for the history I have with You and for every time You have not allowed the enemy to triumph over me. Thank You for all the times when You’ve shown me that You have me in the palms of Your hands. By this I know that I will triumph today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
SECTION TWO
Actively fill yourself up with the promises of God’s protection. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of Christ (Rom. 10:17 NASB).
What are you hearing today? The word of the world? The word of Wall Street? Or the word of Christ?
I want to encourage you today to build a shield of faith around your family. Listen, believe, speak. Would you say it with me? Listen, believe, speak. Listen to Christ-centered messages, believe the Word of God, and speak out loud the promises you want to see in your life.
I believe that the Lord wants to seal this truth in your life today. Say this out loud with me right now:
Lord Jesus, You are our family’s refuge, our fortress, our God—in You we trust. We don’t trust in our own wisdom, our own limited intelligence, and our own abilities. We trust in You. We trust in Your grace and Your love for us. We trust You to keep us in Your divine health and strength all the days of our lives. We trust You to keep us from terror, from fear, from dangers, from disease, and from accidents. In You we trust. Amen.
Today’s Scripture I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. Romans 16:17, NIV
Sowers of Discord Be careful of people who try to stir you up. It should be a red flag when someone comes and starts pointing out everything that’s wrong. You have to consider the source. They are constant alarmists, always blowing things out of proportion, knocking your boss, telling you what’s wrong with your spouse, pointing out problems in your church. Don’t take that bait. They’re sowing discord. They’re trying to poison your spirit. Most of the time, they don’t even know all the facts. The Scripture tells us to be peacemakers, not troublemakers. That’s someone who wants you to get bent out of shape, and then they’re quick to give you advice about it. They always have the answers.
If you keep listening to them, you’re going to live wrought up, stressed out, on edge. If you dwell on what they’re saying, thinking of all the negatives, you’ll end up sour, frustrated, and angry. Do yourself a favor. Tune them out. Quit letting them control you. “What if they get upset?” They’re already upset. Let them be upset by themselves.
A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You for such a clear word of warning to be careful about the people I allow to influence me. Help me to honestly evaluate my relationships and make changes where there’s discord. I will not allow them to control me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Be encouraged to know that you don’t have to be afraid of the battles in your mind. Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
Based on God’s Word, right believing is the key that unlocks the treasures of God in your life, giving you access to the fullness of His love, grace, favor, blessings, and forgiveness.
Jesus has already paid the price on Calvary’s hill. The hindrance then between you and your victory is your wrong beliefs. The battle has to do with your beliefs.
The enemy knows that if he can control your thought life, he can manipulate your emotions and feelings. For instance, if he can make you entertain thoughts of guilt, failure, and defeat, you will begin to feel lousy about yourself, physically weak, and even depressed.
Our emotions are flags that indicate to us what our thoughts are. Thank God for emotions. They tell us if something is terribly wrong with our thoughts.
Many of us are not cognizant when our thinking slides down a slippery slope to fear, doubt, pessimism, and anxiety. However, God has designed us in such a way that we can quickly recognize our thinking through our emotions.
Try this: whenever you begin to sense negative emotions, such as fear, worry, guilt, and anger, stop and ask yourself, “What am I thinking?”
Your emotions follow quickly at the heels of your thoughts. If your thoughts are negative, you will naturally produce negative emotions. Conversely, if your thoughts are positive in Christ, you will produce positive emotions.
That is why there is a battle for your mind. The devil wants to keep your thoughts negative so that he can keep you defeated. He is a master of mind games, and he doesn’t play fair. When he first tempted Adam and Eve in the garden, he made them doubt God’s motives by insinuating that God was deliberately withholding something good from them, when in reality God was protecting them.
The devil’s strategy hasn’t changed—he is still using fears, lies, accusations, guilt, and condemnation to ensnare believers today and to make them doubt God’s perfect love, forgiveness, and superabounding grace.
My friend, are there areas you are fearful and anxious about today? Realize that those fears and anxieties indicate the presence of wrong beliefs in your life that God wants you to be freed from.
Replace those wrong beliefs with right beliefs based on God’s Word, and you will eradicate those fears and anxieties. Through the power of right believing, you will win the battle for your mind.
Today’s Scripture For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. James 1:3, NLT
Develop Your Character. Too often we put conditions on God and on our prayers. “God, I’ll be happy if my boss moves to the backside of Mars. When you get him out of my life, I’ll have a good attitude.” Have you ever thought that God is using that person to grow you up, to develop your character, to teach you to love those who are not so lovable? Instead of saying, “God, get me out of this situation,” I’m asking you to pray, “God, come into this situation. Help me to have a good attitude. Help me to do the right thing when the wrong thing is happening.” It’s very powerful when you can say, “God, if this person or situation never changes, thank You that You’ve given me the strength to overcome, the power to be happy in the midst of difficulties. I’m not going to let this person, this sickness, or this injustice to take my joy.” Now you’re growing and coming up higher. Sometimes God is waiting for you to pass the test, in then He’s going to bring you out.
A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You that You are worthy of my unconditional trust. There are things in my life that I don’t understand, situations I want to see changed, people who I’d like to get away from, but even if they never happen, I’m still going to trust You. I gladly leave these matters in Your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
It is wonderful to know that God does not measure and judge you based on your performance today. Instead, He looks at Jesus, and as Jesus is, that is how He sees you. His Word declares that “love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
As new covenant believers, we do not have to fear the day of judgment simply because all our sins have been completely judged at the cross, and as Jesus is, so are we! Notice that it does not say that “as Jesus was on earth, so are we in this world.” That would have been amazing enough because during Jesus’ ministry on earth, healing, blessings, and abundance followed Him everywhere He went.
Yet, that is not what the Word says. What it says is, “as Jesus is” (notice the use of the present tense). In other words, as He is right now, so are we in this world.
What a powerful revelation! Just consider where Jesus is today. The Bible tells us:
He [God] raised Him [Jesus] from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.—Ephesians 1:20–23
Jesus is seated at the Father’s right hand today, in a position of power and authority. If I were you, I would take some time to meditate on this passage because the Bible tells us that as Jesus is, so are we right now, in this world.
Meditate on how as Jesus is “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named,” so are we! See it in God’s Word for yourself. See yourself as Jesus is, far above every principality and power, far above every disease and physical condition, far above every kind of fear, depression, and addiction, and begin to reign over every negative situation in your life today!
One of the reasons we can rejoice in the knowledge that Jesus has borne the punishment that was due us: forgiveness and healing go hand in hand.
The Bible says that He who never broke a single law of God “was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (Isa. 53:5). Do you see how healing and the price for our forgiveness are so closely intertwined in God’s Word?
Many today are struggling to heal themselves from their sicknesses, diseases, mental dysfunctions, and addictions. I want to announce to you today that our part is to receive forgiveness from Jesus and to believe that we are forgiven every single day. The more forgiveness-conscious we are, the more easily we will experience healing and liberty from every bodily ailment, mental oppression, and destructive habit.
One of my favorite psalms goes like this: “Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases” (Ps. 103:1–3).
Now which comes first? The consciousness that all your sins are forgiven precedes the healing of all your diseases!
And the operative word here is all. Some of us are comfortable with receiving partial forgiveness in certain areas of our lives. But we refuse to allow Jesus’ forgiveness to touch some dark areas—areas that we can’t let go of and that we can’t forgive ourselves for. Whatever those mistakes may be, I encourage you to allow Jesus to forgive you of all your sins and receive healing for all your diseases.
My friend, let the past go. Let the mistakes go. Allow yourself to be free, and learn to forgive yourself by receiving with an open heart Jesus’ total and complete forgiveness today.
Once, the Lord showed me a vision of what happened at the cross. I saw how all the sins of the entire human race (lies, deceit, envy, bitterness, adultery, addiction, bondage, murder) and all the consequences of sin (fear, sicknesses, guilt, disease, and condemnation) swirled around Jesus like evil spirits and demons, laughing heinously, taunting and tormenting Him. Jesus became like a magnet for all sin and of His own volition accepted all this sin into His own body.
You and I will never be able to imagine the excruciating pain that tore through His body at the cross. Every malignant cancer, every tumor, every sickness, and every disease came upon Him at the same time.
He who knew no sin took upon Himself the mountainous weight of all men’s darkest and foulest sins. He took it all Himself.
The Word says that “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matt. 8:17). “Himself”—a singular, reflexive pronoun that signifies the exclusion of you and me.
Since He Himself has taken the full punishment, judgment, and condemnation for all sin, you and I are excluded from every punishment, judgment, and condemnation for all sin when we receive Him as our Savior.
But the story did not end there. Jesus did not die on the cross in the middle of receiving upon Himself all of humanity’s sins. He took it all and accepted it all in His body. Then the fire of God’s judgment was unleashed upon His own precious Son, and only when every last sin had been punished did Jesus cry out, “IT IS FINISHED!” moments before breathing His last breath (John 19:30).
Can you see that? Jesus held on at the cross until every single sin that you have ever committed and will ever commit was punished in His own body. That is why we call what Jesus has accomplished at the cross a “finished work.”
Now, what is your part today? Your part is to believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life and that all your sins have been paid for at the cross.
If you believe that all your sins have been forgiven, sin will have no more power over you. You don’t have to walk around with “a mountain of sin” on your shoulders anymore because this “mountain of sin” was laid squarely on the shoulders of another—Jesus. He Himself has already paid the price for your sins, so stop condemning yourself!
Lagos State has recorded 10 confirmed cases of diphtheria between January 1 and March 27, 2025, as health authorities intensify efforts to curb the outbreak. According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, suspected cases have fluctuated over the period, with some days recording as many as 15 cases and others as few as one.
Providing an update on the outbreak at the weekend, the Commissioner revealed that laboratory tests conducted on 76 samples confirmed 10 positive cases, while 63 samples returned negative results. “Another three samples collected on March 26 are still pending results”, he said.
Prof. Abayomi disclosed that the outbreak has been reported in multiple Local Government Areas (LGAs), with Eti-Osa being the most affected, recording 44 suspected cases. According to him, other impacted LGAs include Alimosho, Badagry, Ikorodu, Kosofe, Ojo, Mushin, and Lagos Island, where various numbers of suspected and confirmed cases have been identified.
He emphasized that in the interest of public safety, all confirmed cases are mandated to remain on admission for treatment. He urged the public to cooperate with health authorities, noting that this measure is essential to prevent further transmission of the disease.
“As part of the state’s response, 21 individuals have received Diphtheria Antitoxin (DAT) treatment, with King’s College, Eti-Osa, accounting for the highest number of recipients – 14. Other beneficiaries were from Lagos State Model School, Meiran, and various locations in Alimosho, Kosofe, and Badagry”, the Commissioner said.
Abayomi stated that data analysis from the outbreak report shows that the outbreak peaked in the third, fourth, and tenth weeks of 2025, with four cases confirmed each week.
Abayomi however, noted that a decline in the number of cases in recent weeks indicates that containment measures may be yielding positive results. The state government has intensified contact tracing efforts, with 118 individuals identified as potential contacts of infected persons. Out of these, follow-up has been completed for 100 individuals, while 18 are still pending. Additionally, 36 individuals across affected LGAs have received prophylaxis to prevent further spread.
Prof. Abayomi noted that confirmed cases have been linked to locations such as King’s College in Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos State Model School, Meran in Alimosho LGA, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Mushin, De-Emmaculate School, Mile 12 in Kosofe LGA, and Gbara Junior Secondary School in Eti-Osa LGA. “
He said These areas remain focal points for intensified interventions, including targeted vaccination campaigns and public awareness efforts.
The Commissioner reiterated that vaccination efforts targeting close contacts of index cases, suspected patients, and frontline health workers remain ongoing. He disclosed that a total of 36,310 individuals have been vaccinated so far. This, according to him, includes 7,473 individuals aged 9 to 17 years and 28,837 individuals aged 18 years and above, among whom 13,633 are healthcare workers. He further disclosed that risk communication and public health sensitization efforts, which commenced at the onset of the outbreak, have been reinforced through community-based social mobilization and media campaigns.
As Lagos residents prepare for Eid-el-Fitr, Easter celebrations, and the second-term school vacation, the Commissioner urged strict adherence to precautionary measures. He advised the public to maintain high levels of hygiene, wash hands regularly, use sanitizers, and avoid crowded places.
He emphasized the need for prompt reporting of symptoms such as cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat, red eyes, neck swelling, and thick grey or white patches on the throat.
He assured Lagosians that the state government, through the Ministry of Health and its partners, is intensifying surveillance, treatment, and prevention efforts. “We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide regular updates. Residents are advised to stay informed and adhere to all public health advisory
Today’s Scripture The LORD will enlarge your kingdom beyond Jerusalem, and you will rule over your enemies. Psalm 110:2, NCV
Extend Your Dominion Jerusalem was the home of the Israelites. They were used to having protection, favor, and blessing there. That was normal. But God said, “I’m about to do something unusual, out of the ordinary. I’m going to increase you beyond what you’re used to. I’m going to take you beyond what you’ve seen in the past. I’m giving you new ground.”
God is saying that to you. “I’m about to extend your dominion, extend your income, extend your influence, extend your wisdom, extend your talent, extend your anointing.” You’ve been blessed in the past, but you haven’t seen anything yet. God is about to enlarge your territory. You don’t have to make it happen. Just keep honoring God, keep Him first place, and He’ll make things happen that you didn’t see coming. He’ll take you to levels that you’ve never imagined. You’ll have unprecedented favor to not only defeat what’s defeated you in the past, but you will rule over it. Get ready for freedom, get ready for abundance. Keep praising, keep believing, keep expecting, and the Lord is going to extend your dominion.
A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You that You are a more-than-enough God, and You want to extend my dominion with unprecedented favor. Help me to enlarge my vision of what You can do and start living with a victor’s m eentality. I declare that I am taking the limits off myself and You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
SECTION TWO
As we press deeper into the power of right believing, I want to show you practical ways in which you can be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Right believing is all about renewing your mind and uprooting the wrong beliefs that shape your thinking and behavior. That’s why the Word of God says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think” (Rom. 12:2 NLT).
God wants to change the way we think by shifting our thoughts from self-occupation to Christ-occupation. Our human tendency is to be focused on ourselves. We are prone to excessive self-introspection and are easily susceptible to becoming preoccupied with ourselves rather than with Jesus.
Many of our greatest pains, struggles, failures, and miseries stem from us being “I” centered. Oftentimes, we are engrossed with thoughts such as, “Have I done enough?”, “What is wrong with me?”, and “Why do I have so many weaknesses?” Unfortunately, when we become overly occupied with self, we become obsessed, oppressed, and inevitably depressed.
My friend, is your mind filled constantly with thoughts of how you have failed, how you have missed it, and how unworthy you are? That is symptomatic of someone who is clearly self-occupied. Thoughts like that cause a person to develop an inferiority complex.
People who suffer from this are ever ready to condemn themselves. Their minds are clouded with negativity and pessimism.
But self-occupation can also manifest at the other end of the pendulum’s swing as a superiority complex. There are people who think they are always better than everyone else. They are painfully arrogant, and they think their perspectives and opinions are always right. Whether you are feeling superior or inferior, your focus is still on yourself, and in the end that causes you great pain, misery, and heartache.
Only in Christ will you experience true transformation and walk neither in pride nor in false humility. When you are Christ-occupied, the flesh in you becomes inconsequential and you begin manifesting all the lovely, wholesome, and beautiful attributes of Jesus unconsciously.
The fruit of the Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, and kindness, flow through you effortlessly when your mind is renewed and occupied with the person of Jesus. It’s an inevitability! You cannot touch His grace and not become holy any more than you can touch water and not get wet.
