Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned.”
Revelation 11:17, NKJV

Your Future Is Covered.
Today’s Scripture describes God not just as the God of the past and present, He is the God of the future. He is all-knowing. He knows what you need today and what you’re going to need ten years from now. He knows who you’re going to need. Quit worrying about how things are going to work out and trust Him. God is strategic, and He’s got you covered. Nothing happens by accident. He already knows everything that’s going to happen. The good news is that He’s going ahead of you. He’s lining up the right breaks, the right people, the right opportunities. He has solutions to problems you haven’t even had. The Scripture says that before you call, He’s going to answer you.

Are you living worried, stressed out, trying to figure out how your situation is going to work out? God is saying, “Trust Me. I know where you are, and I know where you’re going. You’re not doing life on your own. When you get to where you’re going, it may be new to you, but I’ve already been there.”

His Hands Are Not Short

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are the God of my past, my present, and my future. Thank You that before I even call You answer me, before I even pray You already have the answer lined up. I believe that You are going before me and working in ways that I can’t even imagine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

No matter what challenge, crisis, or circumstance you are faced with today, allow His provision of peace to flow in and through you. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He came to bring you peace, to anchor, and to establish your heart even through the most turbulent of times.

No matter how boisterous the storm appears, how high the unemployment rates are or how low the world economy crashes, allow His peace to reign supreme in your heart and mind. It’s a peace that surpasses all human understanding, and it provides you safety, soundness of mind, stability, and even sweet sleep.

How can you let your heart not be troubled nor afraid? By receiving a fresh dose of perfect peace directly from the Prince of Peace today. Turn your cares into prayers. His robust peace will bring you safely through every storm!

Be wise and don’t just swallow everything—hook, line, sinker.

Gospel Corner

I encourage you to test everything you hear with God’s Word. I always tell my church to read the Bible for themselves instead of simply swallowing all that any preacher, including myself, says.

Be wise and don’t just swallow everything—hook, line, sinker, fisherman, and even his boots! Be discerning when you hear something that does not sit well in your spirit, such as when a preacher tells you that “God gives you sicknesses to teach you a lesson.”

Ask yourself, “Is this in line with the new covenant of God’s unmerited favor? Are there new covenant scriptures to back up this teaching?”

The answer is obvious once you align it with Jesus and what He has done on the cross for you! Why would God give you sicknesses when Jesus has taken every sickness and disease upon His own body at the cross?

With full assurance in your heart that sickness is not from God, you can have faith to be healed! But what assurance can you have if you believe the lie that the condition is from God?

Now, instead of thinking that God is against you, you realize that He is on your side! Your confidence is restored, faith is renewed and His healing can flow unabated through every cell, tissue, and organ in your body!

Let me just share with you the words of Miles Coverdale, who said, “It shall greatly help thee to understand scripture, if thou mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom, and unto whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstance, considering what goeth before, and what followeth after.”

Essentially, he was saying that to understand the Bible, we need to read everything in its context. What powerful advice from the man who translated and produced the first English Bible in the 16th century.

My friend, rightly divide the covenants whenever you read the Bible and you will never be ashamed. Now that you have received Jesus into your life, you are under the new covenant and it is your new covenant right to enjoy Jesus’ unmerited favor to succeed in life!

The Just Shall live By Faith'” (Rom. 1:16–17).

Gospel Corner

When I was studying the Emmaus story, I asked the Lord why He chose to restrain the eyes of the two disciples such that they couldn’t recognize Him (Luke 24:13–35). I asked Him, “Wouldn’t it have been better for them to see You with Your nail-pierced hands?” Wouldn’t it have been better if Jesus had walked down the busiest streets of Jerusalem, lifted up His hands, and hollered, “Yo! Everyone, check this out!”

But Jesus knew that doing that would not produce true faith. He revealed to me that it was more important for the disciples to see Him in the Word than to see Him in person.

Wow, those words brought so much hope and encouragement to my heart. If the faith of the disciples was based on them seeing Jesus physically in the flesh, then what hope do we have today?

Jesus purposefully restrained their eyes so that they would see Him first in the Scriptures. That places you and me on equal ground and with equal opportunity as the two disciples. Jesus wants us all to see Him in the Word.

God’s Word tells us that “faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ” (Rom. 10:17 NASB). This means that the more you hear Jesus unveiled, expounded upon, and pointed to in the Scriptures, the more faith will be imparted to your heart to believe everything God’s Word says about you.

Could it be that the reason many believers are still living in defeat today is that Jesus has not been unveiled in the Scriptures to them?

The gospel is all about Jesus. It’s not about right doing. It’s all about right believing about Jesus that makes a difference in people’s lives.

The apostle Paul says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith'” (Rom. 1:16–17).

That’s the gospel that I am not ashamed of. I pray that you will experience your own Emmaus Road journey as you open up the Scriptures and allow His Word to bathe your heart in the warmth of His loving grace and tender mercies. It’s truly all about Jesus!

Jesus’ word to you today is simply to “abide in Me,” and you will bear much fruit.

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
“So don’t ever be afraid, dearest friends! Your loving Father joyously gives you his kingdom with all its promises!”
Luke 12:32, TPT

It Is Your Father’s Pleasure.
Your Heavenly Father says you’re one of a kind, a prized possession. Don’t go through life feeling inferior, not up to par, not attractive. Have a receiving mindset. “God, I receive what You say about me. I receive Your approval. I receive Your love. Thank You that You have accepted me, that I am worthy, I am valuable, I am a masterpiece.” The Scripture says it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. That means it gives God great joy to bless you, to forgive you, to show you favor. But there’s a condition: Will you receive the gifts? Will you believe that you’re worthy, you’re approved, you’re valuable, you’re blessed, you’re favored? Or are you pushing away all the gifts, thinking you don’t deserve them, that you could never get well, never have abundance, never feel attractive? No, if you want to make God happy, if you want to make Him smile, have a receiving mindset. Start accepting the gifts. Start accepting His promises. You haven’t seen, heard, or imagined what He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You joyously give me Your kingdom with all the promises in Your Word. Thank You that I can come and receive Your gifts of favor, forgiveness, wisdom, and abundance. I declare that I am expecting You to show out in my life in ways I have never imagined. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

I’d like you to picture a strong and healthy tree. A strong and healthy tree does not worry about producing fruit or getting rid of the dead leaves on it.

As long as it receives the right amount of sunshine, water, and nutrients, it will have healthy sap flowing in it that is brimming with all the right nutrients and that naturally pushes out all the dead leaves. And as long as its inward life—its healthy sap life—keeps flowing, new leaves will spring forth on this tree and good fruits will naturally grow and flourish on all the branches.

My friend, as you begin to receive the sunshine of God’s favor and take in the water of His Word, as you begin to feed on Jesus’ forgiveness in your life and your righteous standing in Christ, the dead leaves of guilt, fear, addictions, and every type of disorder will begin to be pushed out by the new life of Jesus within you.

The transformation you will experience, when it is not based on your own discipline and self-control, is truly effortless. It is no longer, “How will I overcome this anger problem?” or “How will I beat this cigarette addiction?” or “How can I curb this habit of overeating when I am stressed and insecure?” Instead, it becomes, “How will Jesus in me overcome this anger problem, this cigarette addiction, this habit of overeating?”

The fruits of your success will be effortless. One by one, the addictions, dysfunctions, and negative emotions will begin to drop off from your life like dead leaves, and new leaves (new positive thoughts and attitudes), new flowers (new desires and dreams), and new fruit (new behaviors and habits) will begin to flourish in your life.

Jesus’ word to you today is simply to “abide in Me,” and you will bear much fruit.

He Died young that we may live long.

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
Luke 9:13, NLT

Grateful for the Partial
When Jesus needed food to feed five thousand men plus their families, the disciples brought him five loaves of bread and two fish and said, “This is all we have.” Jesus could have looked up and said, “Father, are You kidding? Is this what You expect Me to use to feed this multitude? ” Instead, He saw it from a different perspective. His attitude was: “Father, I could have nothing, but thank You that You blessed Me with this small amount.” He saw it as a partial victory. Because He was grateful for the partial, God released more.

Are you complaining about the partial in your life, or are you celebrating the partial? Are you so focused on your flaws and how far you have to go that you’re taking for granted the small victories along the way? Find the good in right now, in the progress you’re making, and thank God for the improvement. It may be small but that’s okay. When you celebrate partial victories, that’s what gives you the strength and encouragement to keep going on the way to total victory.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and love and mercy in my life. Thank You for the partial victories that You have given me, and I know that You are working to bring them to completion. Help me continue to be grateful and see every promise fulfilled. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Psalm 91 ends with the power-packed verse, “With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” Many years ago, the Lord opened my eyes to see that apart from the four names of God that we covered in the first two verses of Psalm 91, there is another name of God, a fifth name, concealed in the very last word of Psalm 91.

SECTION TWO

You see, in Hebrew, the word “salvation” is the word yeshua. And Yeshua is the Hebrew name of our Lord Jesus! Now, isn’t that beautiful?

This is what God was saying: “With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My Yeshua.” Long life is found in our Yeshua. You can know God as El Elyon, God Most High, as the Almighty Shaddai, as Jehovah, and even as Elohim, but the name that gives you full and utter confidence is the name Jesus!

It is not enough to know that God is all-powerful. It is more important you know that God is willing to use His power and might to save you!

That’s what our Lord Jesus did at the cross for you and me. He came and He showed us His salvation by sacrificing Himself on the cross for your sins and my sins.

He died young that we may live long. And not just live long in this world. At the cross, He purchased for us the gift of eternal life, paid for with His own blood. The moment you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your salvation in Him was sure and secure!

I grew up in a church where I was taught that when you sin, you will lose your salvation and have to get born again all over again. This erroneous teaching oppressed my mind day and night. The enemy incessantly attacked me with thoughts that I had lost my salvation. As I was seeking the Lord for answers one day, He opened my eyes and pointed me to the above Scripture passage from 2 Timothy.

Just like that, when the truth of God’s Word came in, all the oppression left me. And every time the thought that I had lost my salvation reared its ugly head again, I would quote this verse, boldly declaring, “It is written, ‘And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom.'”

Beloved, I highly recommend that you meditate on this Scripture. In this one verse you find the Lord’s protection and preservation unto eternity!

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
He saved us because of his mercy, and not because of any good things we have done. God washed us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He gave us new birth and a fresh beginning.
Titus 3:5, CEV

Because of His Mercy.
Before Saul became the apostle Paul, he was the worst persecutor of the early church. He went around having believers arrested and put in prison. Of all people, he didn’t deserve God’s mercy, but God doesn’t give us what we deserve. We deserve the consequences, we deserve judgment, but God gives us mercy. He even knows how to make miracles out of our mistakes as He did through His transformation of Saul into an apostle.

The accusing voices will tell you, “You’re done. It’s your fault. You know you weren’t supposed to do it. You pursued the wrong thing and you just have to deal with the consequences.” No, God is so merciful that He’ll take your wrong and not only forgive you, but He’ll clean you up as well as your mess. It would be easy to live guilty and under condemnation, to not expect anything good. Stay in faith. God has mercy for that mistake. He can make a miracle out of that mess. He did it for Paul, and He can do it for you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, and that includes me. Thank You that all the things that could have disqualified and kept me undeserving were wiped away in Your mercy. I declare that I am forgiven, and I’m moving forward in victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

The Gadarene demoniac was someone who was isolated, left alone, and shunned by people. He had no one to turn to. People were afraid of him and there was no one who could heal his condition—until Jesus came.

Jesus crossed the entire lake of Galilee just to heal this man, despite the devil trying to stop Him with a storm. He travelled a great distance just to minister healing to that man and set him free. That’s the kind of loving Savior He is!

Just as Jesus went a long way to heal one man, He went to great lengths, to the point of death, to purchase liberty, blessings, and health for you. No sickness or circumstance, however grave or disastrous, is greater than what He has already done for you!

ENDING BUILDING COLLAPSE : Lagos State Government Involves Private Sector Participants In Monitoring Of Building Processes

12/03/25

SHINA DJ

Ikoyi 2021 Collapsed Building

To
make Lagos State a more liveable, sustainable and resilient city with total compliance with the standard building regulations in line with what is globally approved as the best standard practice,The Governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwo-Olu has lunched the Certified Accreditors Programme “CAP”

The new initiative , no doubt will further strengthen the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) in achieving its primary goals of ensuring that basic minimum standard is maintained in building construction in the State through strict compliance with the State Building Codes and Regulations to end incessant building collapse

Speaking during the lunch on Monday 10th March 2025,The General Manager Lagos State Build Control Agency Architect Gbolahan Owodunni Oki called for collaboration by all stakeholders to ensure success .

“What we are witnessing today is a further demonstration of this administration’s commitment to its
THEMES+ development Agenda, focusing on an all-inclusive governance through Public-Private Partnership .

I am therefore convinced that the launch of CAP today will help our Agency to serve the people more effectively, while it will also enhance collaboration, innovation and excellence in building control practices.

On this note, I enjoin all Building Owners/Developers in the State to accord the newly Certified Accreditors’ with respect by cooperating with them during monitoring and inspection of various stages of building construction processes as this will help rid the State of incessant building collapse as non-compliance to the government laid down regulations will meet stiff penalty.
To our Certified Accreditors, I welcome you on the board following the approval of Mr Governor for your existence. I therefore charge you not to take this opportunity for granted, rather, you should justify the confidence reposed in you by the Governor by bringing your professionalism and wealth of experience to bear in your new assignment.

I urge you not to compromise on your professional callings, bearing in mind that a single mistake or compromise from your end can lead to wanton loss of lives and properties”

It would be recalled that after the collapse of the 21-storey building under construction at 44 B, C, D Gerrard Road, Ikoyi in November 2021, a panel of enquiry was constituted by Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to investigate the root cause of the collapse and come up with recommendations on how to avert a future re- occurrence.

This constituted panel after thorough investigation came up with far reaching recommendations, one of which is the need for the State Government to collaborate with the Private Sector professionals in the Built Environment for a thorough monitoring and inspections of all ongoing building constructions across Lagos State as a necessary intervention strategy for early detection and prevention of further building collapse by enforcing the laws on standard regulations and compliance .

The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), swung into action to facilitate a Public- Private synergy referred to as “Certified Accreditors’ Programme” (CAP) in line with the recommendation of the Panel which led to the State calling for Expression of Interest from professionals in the Private Sector who will act as Certified Accreditors . The Certified Accreditors who are here present will complement activities of Government Officials in Screening of Drawings, Stage Inspection and monitoring to ensure compliance with the Lagos State Building Control Regulations.

After the Expression of Interest by different Consulting Companies and thorough screening and evaluations carried out on all the documents submitted, the State Government finally shortlisted One Hundred and Eleven (111) Consulting Companies as the State Certified Accreditors and Monitoring Officers who are here to be formally presented to Mr Governor for his official endorsement.

Architect Gbolahan noted that the approval by Mr Governor for the involvement of the Private Sector (CAP) is a further demonstration of this administration’s commitment to inclusivity, bearing in mind that, those in the private sector equally have requisite experience and qualifications that could complement their public servants counterpart ,just to ensure excellence in the built environment.
In addition, it is not that the State government does not have enough personnel or people with the technical know-how in monitoring or supervision of various building processes to avoid sharp practices by quacks in the industry, rather , this administration has always believed in public/ private participation in its development policies, which is the secret of the greater height attained by the State in its development strides.

Get honest and humble enough to say, “God, I need help with this addiction…

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you.”’”
Luke 15:17–18, NLT

Get Real
The prodigal son wasted his father’s inheritance on wild living, had no money, ended up feeding hogs and eating their food to survive. This could have been the end of the story. But today’s Scripture says he finally got real, quit pretending like everything was okay, took off the mask, admitted his sin, and returned to his father. When the father saw him coming, the father came running, hugged him, forgave him, and restored him to his sonship.

The father represents God. When you take your mask off, He will come running to you. That means you get honest and humble enough to say, “God, I need help with this addiction. I need help with my temper. I need help in my marriage. I’ve made a mess of things. I can’t straighten my life up by myself.” He knows your insecurities, your fears, your failures, you’re weaknesses. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay. When you come to God and ask for His help, for His forgiveness, for His mercy, that’s when He begins to restore you and set you on the right path.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can humble myself and admit my weaknesses, sins, and failures. Thank You that Your power goes to work in me when I stop pretending that I have it all together. I am taking off the masks and asking You to help bring the change I need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

In the account of the woman caught in adultery, the Bible is silent on what Jesus wrote on the ground with His finger. But I believe that when He stooped down, He was writing the Law of Moses.

SECTION TWO

I have been to Jerusalem many times. During one of my visits many years ago to the temple precinct where Jesus would have met this woman, the Lord opened my eyes to see that the floor of the temple precinct was made of hard cobblestone.

This means Jesus was not writing on soil. He was writing with His finger on stone.

Then, in a flash, I saw that Jesus was writing the law on stone. He was effectively saying to the Pharisees, “You presume to teach Me about the Law of Moses? I am He who wrote the law.”

Jesus wrote twice on the ground with His finger, thus completing the typology, as we know that God wrote the Ten Commandments with His finger twice.

The first set of the Ten Commandments was destroyed by Moses when he saw the Israelites worshiping the golden calf at the foot of Mount Sinai. God then wrote another set on stones and gave it to Moses for it to be placed under the mercy seat in the ark of the covenant.

I had never heard anyone preach this before—it was a fresh revelation straight from heaven. I love it when the Lord opens my eyes to see His grace!

Do you know why it’s so exciting to know what Jesus wrote on the ground that day? It’s so significant because it shows us that the very author of God’s perfect law does not use the law to judge and condemn us today.

And it’s not because God simply decided to be merciful on us. No! It’s because Jesus Himself fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law on our behalf and took upon Himself every curse and stroke of punishment for our sins on His own body at the cross.

We are forgiven because He was judged. We are accepted because He was condemned!

Whatever your challenge today, your answer is found in receiving a fresh revelation of how much you are forgiven in Christ.

The Rain Seems like a setback, but it’s setting you up for greater levels.

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
…for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
1 Corinthians 16:9, ESV

Desert Bloom
If you’ve ever seen a desert bloom with a wide variety of wildflowers, it can be an awesome sight. The blossoming occurs when high levels of rainfall reach and germinate seeds and bulbs that have been in a dormant state. While excessive spring rainfalls often cause flooding and damage, the resulting flowering desert can be phenomenal.

The apostle Paul says we should never let the rains of adversity to fool us. There may be flooding now—someone walked away, disappointment, a contract fell through, sickness—but the rain is necessary. There are seeds in you that will only open up by going through excessive rain. The rain seems like a setback, but it’s setting you up for greater levels.

You’re tempted to get discouraged and give up, but on the other side of that difficulty is favor that you’ve never seen.

Get ready. God is setting you up to blossom, to flourish, to see new growth and greater favor.

You’re going to see God do what only He can do. Your best days are still in front of you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the gifts and talents and seeds of greatness You have given me. Thank You for every door of opportunity You open for me, and that adversity is only a sign that You are about to do something amazing. I believe that You have the final say. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

The cross, my friend, is the foundation for lasting breakthroughs and genuine inside-out transformation! I submit to you that many people are unable to experience lasting breakthroughs from their fears, addictions, and bondages because they don’t yet understand the gospel of grace.

You can evaluate how well you understand what Jesus accomplished at the cross for you by looking at how free you are in Christ today. Are you constantly struggling with thoughts of fear, doubt, guilt, and condemnation? Are you persistently entangled in a sinful habit or addiction?

If that is you, you need to study, meditate upon, and feed on the gospel of grace. Don’t back away from grace; be strong in the grace of God extended to you. Be strong in understanding that your sins are forgiven. Be strong in the knowledge that you are justified by faith through grace. Be strong in the revelation that today, you are the righteousness of God in Christ.

When you are strong in the gospel of grace, you will produce a godly, holy, and glorious life! In the same way that you can’t touch water and not become wet, you can’t “touch” grace and not become holy.

And this holiness is a true holiness that comes from the inside out. It is a holiness that flows from a heart that has been emancipated from self-condemnation.

We are not talking about superficial outward changes. We are talking about changes that happen in the deepest recesses of a person’s heart, motivations, and thoughts. Real change in a person whose heart is washed by the precious blood of Jesus and touched by His grace brings lasting breakthroughs.
