Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Ephesians 3:20, NKJV

An Exceedingly Abundant Year
I believe this is going to be a year where God exceeds your expectations. He’s not going to do just what you’re asking for; He’s going to exceed it. He’s going to open doors you never dreamed would open. He’s going to take you further than you’ve imagined. You’re going to look back and say, “I never dreamed I would be this blessed. I never dreamed I would get this position. I never dreamed I would overcome this addiction. I never dreamed I would feel this healthy.”

Get ready. This is a new year, and God is doing a new thing. He’s about to exceed your expectations. He’s about to do things that you’ve never imagined. He’s going to make things happen that you couldn’t make happen. One touch of His favor will catapult you where you could not go on your own. God is releasing healing, favor, opportunities, breakthroughs, promotion, and freedom. You didn’t have to work for it, you didn’t earn it, and you didn’t deserve it. It’s just the goodness of God, showing His favor on your life.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You think extraordinary, You think abundance, and You think freedom. Help me to expect that You will exceed my expectations in this coming year. I believe and declare that You are doing exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

The devil doesn’t want you to be strong in the Lord’s love for you. Instead, he wants you to question God’s love for you. To accomplish this, one of his key strategies is to try to make you think that God is mad at you.

God’s Word tells us that the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. This means that he cannot just devour anyone. He must look for those whom he can devour.

Some of us are “undevourable.” There may not be such a word, but it certainly describes a great place to be when the enemy is on the prowl for his next victim.

My friend, you can become “undevourable” to the devil. The secret is found in the preceding verse, “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:7).

Can you see it? The secret to being “undevourable” is to be carefree and not be bogged down by anxieties and worries! It is to laugh a lot, enjoy your life, and to take no thought for tomorrow.

To the legalistic mind, this sounds terribly irresponsible. However, in God’s mind, your greatest responsibility is to rejoice in the Lord always and to not worry about your past failures, your present circumstances, and your future challenges!

Why? It’s because of what God’s grace has already done for you. And it’s because the One who has the power over death is caring for you and watching over you right this minute.

If you want to see victory over the enemy’s attacks, then learn to relax, to let go, and to release every oppressive thought, worry, and care into Jesus’ loving hands. Believe with all your heart that He cares for you and that you are not alone in this journey. You have a constant companion in Jesus on this great adventure called life.

Note that the devil walks about like a roaring lion. The devil is an impostor who tries to intimidate you through the impression that God is angry with you.

Let’s be clear here: there is only one true lion and that is the Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ (Rev. 5:5), the King of kings, and He is not mad at you today. His wrath is directed at anything that seeks to destroy you. You are not the object of His wrath; you are the object of His love.

So be strong in His love for you. That’s how you resist the devil who will have no choice but to flee from you!

Happy New Year

God Has Moments Of Favor That You’re Going To Come Into That Are Going To Catapult Tou Ahead.

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
Ephesians 1:18, NLT

Flooded with Light
The apostle Paul knew that our minds would try to talk us out of the awesome future that God has planned for us. He knew that we would get passive and let disappointments, setbacks, and delays cause us to quit believing and to settle where we are. That’s why he prayed that our hearts would be flooded with light. To be flooded means to be overwhelmed. We are not to be overwhelmed with doubt, with trouble, with problems. No, we’re to be flooded with light, flooded with hope, flooded with faith, flooded with expectancy.

In this coming year, God has moments of favor that you’re going to come into that are going to catapult you ahead. He has things in your future that you can’t imagine right now. My question is, Are you expecting a favor-filled year? Are you anticipating great things? Are the eyes of your heart flooded with light, or have they become dim? Ask God to flood your heart with light so you can say, like David, “I am confident I will see the goodness of God.”

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the new year that is right in front of me. I ask You to flood my heart with light, with hope, and with faith for great things. I am fully confident that I will see Your goodness in my life this year in ways that I’ve never imagined. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

Wherever you are, whatever it is that you do, with the Lord’s presence and His unmerited favor covering you, there is no way you will not be a success. When I started working in my early twenties, I kept on practicing the presence of Jesus and in a short time, became the top salesperson in my company.

I not only closed the biggest deals for my company, but I also secured the greatest frequency of sales transactions. I started as one of the lowest-paid employees in the company, but the Lord consistently promoted me, and gave me different income streams from within the same company until I became one of the highest-paid employees in that organization.

Please understand that I am not sharing this with you to put a feather in my cap. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that all the successes that I have experienced in my professional career are a result of Jesus’ presence and unmerited favor in my life.

I shared with you about my professional career (before I entered full-time ministry) so that you will not walk away thinking that I have personally experienced good success from the Lord only because I am a pastor. No. Like I mentioned earlier, whatever vocation you are in, you can experience the presence of Jesus and His unmerited favor, and He will make you a success!

Whether you are a chef, driver, or consultant, it doesn’t matter. God is on your side to bless and make you a success.

Of course, you understand that I am referring to only morally upright professions. You cannot depend on God’s unmerited favor if you are in an industry that requires you to compromise on your Christian morals.

If you are involved in a morally corrupt industry or a job that expects you to lie, cheat, or deceive, my advice to you is to get out! You do not have to depend on a job that puts you in a morally compromising position for your income. God loves you intimately and He has something so much better in store for you. Trust Him.

God is here to save you from destroying yourself. He wants to give you good success and He loves you too much to see you remain in a job that forces you to compromise. The Bible says, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold” (Prov. 22:1).

God has a higher way and better plan for your life. You can walk in it today by depending on His unmerited favor to provide for and prosper you!

BEING ON A MISSION BY LIVY-ELCON EMEREONYE

31/12/24

DANIELS O.G

Being on a mission by Livy-Elcon Emereonye

The greatest thing in life is the gift of life, little wonder a chapter closes when someone dies.

Life is a process of strife: from conception through birth to death is a continuum of struggle for survival — the survival of the fittest.

To breathe in and out is not a mean feat, and if you are in doubt, see those on oxygen or ask their caregivers.

The free things we enjoy might actually be the most expensive things anyone can think of.

Sleeping and waking up unaided may look simple until one encounters sleeplessness. Insomnia can make the night too long, with every second harbouring multitudes of demons.

Going to the toilet and every day might be considered a routine, but someone who constipates and stays days without pooing might have a different story to tell. Anal tag or fistula is not what anyone can wish for his worst enemy.

One with a good dentition that can chew bones and nuts might not know what individuals with holes in their teeth go through in a day.

The one who urinates peacefully might not understand what people with dysfunctional urethras and ureters pass through just to urinate.

With functional eyes, one might be ignorant of the dangers blind individuals face.

More than our possessions, our lacks make us appreciate our existence the more.

It’s common that those who have tasted two opposing powers are modest and would see life from a broader perspective.

What we encounter would last longer than what we hear or read about, but some things are better imagined than encountered.

Life is not what we think. It is a mixture of ups and downs. Our expectations might not always be met. Our dreams might not ever come through, but be thankful and kind if you have a modicum of good health.

Regardless of age, sex, class and status, we face challenges and feel pains.

Life is not funny. Our existence is not a bed of roses. Nature attends to everyone.

As you live and move about, don’t be too proud or arrogant; compete with no one even if you own the world — the world of six-foot that might be denied at the end.

In the final analysis, life is nothing and nothing counts.

The Man Who Does Not Walk According To The Wisdom Of The World Is The Man Who Is Blessed.

31/12/24

DANIELS O.G

JOEL OSTEEN MINISTRIES
Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
“As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say.”
Numbers 14:28, NIV

DO YOU WANT  WHAT YOU ARE SAYING ?
Moses had led the Israelites out of slavery to the border of the Promised Land. God had promised they would defeat their enemies and live in abundance. They had this great report of victory, but then the other report from ten spies said the enemy was too big and powerful. Rather than believe God, the Israelites let fear dominate their thoughts, and they begin to complain against Him. “We’ll never get in. We’re going to die out here in the desert.” It’s significant that God answered them and said, “I will do exactly what I heard you say. You will all die in the desert.” They didn’t realize that by speaking it out, they were prophesying their future.

If God were to do exactly what you’re saying today, would it be what you want? Are you speaking victory, health, abundance, freedom, and new levels? Or are you talking about how big the giants are, what you’ve been through in the past, how you can’t accomplish your dreams or break an addiction? Don’t let tongue trouble keep you out of your promised land.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are always greater than any difficulty or adversity I will ever face. Thank You that You are listening as I declare that, based upon Your promise, I am well able to go in and take the land. I believe that You are going to bring me to the next level. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

Today, I want to talk about how you can depend on God’s wisdom to succeed. Wisdom from the Lord comes by God’s unmerited favor. It is not something that you can study for or acquire with your efforts. Wisdom from the Lord is something that the world cannot have.

This is not to say that the world does not have wisdom. Step into any bookstore today and you will find shelves full of books containing experts’ theories and methods on all sorts of subjects. The majority of these, however, stem from human wisdom, which strengthens and builds up only the flesh.

Whether they know it or not, the people of the world are crying out for true wisdom from the Lord. Just look at the constant demand for self-help books. But what we need is not more “self-help.” What we need is the Lord’s help! Read books that are written by Spirit-filled believers and Christian leaders who encourage you to look to Jesus and not to yourself.

Psalm 1:1 tells us this from the start: “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly.” Beloved, this means that there is counsel in human wisdom. But the man who does not walk according to the wisdom of the world is the man who is blessed.

At the same time, if his delight is in Jesus, and he meditates on Jesus day and night, Psalm 1:3 says, “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

My friend, make a decision to walk in the counsel of the godly and not in the counsel of the world, and you will see whatever you do prosper. God has raised up men and women who are established in the truths of the new covenant, and who will help you keep your eyes on Jesus.

In Him, you will find all the wisdom that pertains to life. The Bible tells us that in Him “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:2–3) for your success. Keep looking to Jesus, draw on His divine wisdom and see the difference it will make to you!

December And The Rise In STIs By Livy-Elcon Emereonye

DANIELS O.G

December and the rise in STIs by Livy-Elcon Emereonye

There’s something unique about the human species. The way we are wired plays vital roles in our belief systems, and our belief shape our motif and actions.

With the belief that the year ends in December, most of us run amok in pursuit of amorphous celebration and in the process become entangled on the web of preventable problems.

Many people throw away their hard-earned money and savings within a day because of incorrect assumptions.

As we get swept up in the celebration madness, we risk ending up with both financial burdens and health issues. Certain individuals put themselves and others at risk based on mistaken beliefs and presumptions regarding December, behaving as though tomorrow may never come.

Why December?

What happens in December?

One might suggest that December brings about the greatest level of frivolous spending in households each year. People often exhaust most of their savings accumulated throughout the year in December. Individuals misuse money on necessary and unnecessary clothing, food, trips, and events in their quest for acceptance and status. To fulfill both real and imagined expectations, we often push ourselves beyond our limits, which leads to consequences.

In December, nearly all prices increase, and the crime rate follows suit. Those who cannot satisfy their aspirations rely on shortcuts and illicit approaches.

Instances of sexual promiscuity soar to new heights. Individuals engage in casual sex, often without protection and with several partners. Certain women view it as the simplest method to get money from men, while some men think it is the sole means of receiving something in return for their financial contributions and generosity. Every individual exchanges one thing for another.

Much like a billy goat, humans find themselves in an excited state, moving towards something that delivers swift outcomes.

Simply put, sex functions like electricity; you can sense its effects instantly. Individuals who have lost their virginity will feel overwhelmed by the thrill of eroticism, eagerly expecting their next encounter, while those with more experience may take a subtler approach to seducing friends and acquaintances—and some have succeeded!

Everyone knows that sexuality can be enjoyable, but engaging in it for the wrong reasons with the wrong partner can lead to lasting consequences.

Engaging in illicit sex can lead to unintended pregnancies, illegal abortions, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), family breakdowns, and in extreme cases, even murder.

In December, contraceptive pills and devices fly off the shelves like inexpensive bottled water.

Even though there is a high demand for condoms and emergency contraceptive pills, many women, due to a lack of knowledge, turn to drug abuse as a method of contraception. They utilize various brands of liver salts, take a capsule or two of antibiotics like ampicillin or cloxacillin, and mix in table salt, soda water, and pepper among other things to ‘prevent pregnancy.’

After engaging in unprotected sex, many men experience symptoms similar to menstruation a few days later. They have soaked pants. Many people report experiencing a pulsing sensation from the penis accompanied by itching and a painful burning feeling while urinating. Any man who faces this experience will not just sit back. This situation probably indicates Gonorrhea, although other STIs and UTIs can show similar signs and symptoms, leading individuals to seek treatment and a cure in various places.

Gonorrhea is treatable and curable. Considering that cost-effectiveness differs from being inexpensive, any patient who consults a skilled clinician will achieve positive outcomes.

Women often do not recognize the signs and symptoms of Gonorrhea and other STIs as easily as men because of anatomical and physiological differences, which may lead some to unknowingly spread the infection.

It’s important that healthcare professionals should always counsel their patients on the need for their partners to be treated as well ( so as to curtail the spread) even though it would be revolted against with a wave of masculine ego saying, “I no fit. I no go near hear again.”

The interconnectedness of sexual relationships becomes evident when one individual mentions Gonorrhea, as it usually results in other cases emerging within days.

It’s advantageous to be careful.

All Our Struggling, Willpower, Discipline, And Self-effort Cannot Do What The Presence Of The Lord Can Do In An Instant.

29/12/24

GOSPEL CORNER

Did you know that Jesus’ name is not just Jesus? His name is also Immanuel, meaning the Almighty God is with us. How comforting it is to know that our awesome Almighty God, who is also our loving Father, is always with us!

A precious brother shared with me that even as a believer years ago, he had a problem with alcohol, and every night he would be out drinking to the point that he could not even remember how he got home the next day. He tried everything he could to stop drinking, but failed repeatedly.

One day, he went out with some friends for a game of squash. After the game, he laid down on the ground to rest. As he was resting, he felt Jesus’ presence come upon him and in that very moment, the Lord broke his addiction to alcohol and totally removed his desire to drink!

Today, this brother whom the Lord delivered from alcoholism is a key leader in my church. Isn’t it just like God to take the weak things of the world to confound the mighty, and the foolish things of the world to confound the wise?

You know, all our struggling, willpower, discipline, and self-effort cannot do what the presence of the Lord can do in an instant. And who is to say that as we are talking about Jesus now, His presence will not take away something that is destructive in your life?

You see, you are transformed not by struggling. You are transformed by beholding Jesus and believing that He loves you and wants to save you.

Now, what does it mean to say “God with us”? We must understand it the same way the Hebrew people would have understood it.

There is something beautiful here—this is the secret of Immanuel! The Jewish mind understands that when the Lord is with you, you become successful in every endeavor.

My friend, it is no different for you today. When the Bible says that Jesus is with you, He is with you to help you, assist you, turn things around for you, and make good things happen for you.

He is not with you, as some wrongly believe, to condemn, judge, or find fault! When Almighty God is with you, good things will happen in you, around you, and through you. Expect this to happen to you today!

Today’s Scripture
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6, NIV

Don’t Let the Card Fool You
We see the Christmas cards of the beautiful manger scene. There’s Mary holding baby Jesus with a pleasant smile, with Joseph looking on. The shepherds are huddled in the background, quietly worshipping the newborn Messiah. The wise men are standing by with their gifts, and the Star of Bethlehem is shining so brightly overhead. But if Mary were here, she would tell you, “Don’t let the card fool you. Yes, it was a glorious night, a holy night. And, yes, I’m honored to have been the mother of Christ, but there are a lot of things you didn’t see. You’re seeing the right moment; you’re seeing the culmination of God’s faithfulness and purpose. But you’re not seeing all the difficulties Joseph and I had to overcome to get to that moment.”

She would tell you that you have to be faithful through the difficulties and wrongs, but that God has graced you for everything that you’ll face. God won’t allow a wrong and not give you the strength, the favor, and the endurance to go through it.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are always working in my life to shape my character and prepare me for the new things You have for me. Thank You for seasons of difficulty where You prove my faithfulness. I believe You are taking me through to be used for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

There are many believers today who don’t cast their cares upon the Lord. I believe that it is because they don’t have a revelation that He cares for them.

Look at what His Word says: “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” Unless you have absolute confidence that Jesus cares for you, you will not cast your cares upon Him.

Just think, would you call upon the help of a relative or friend in your time of need if you were not confident that the person would respond to your call? Jesus cares for you. When you call upon Him, know that you have His fullest attention with all of heaven’s resources backing you up!

Maybe you are thinking right now, “Well, I am sure that Jesus has more important things to do than to bother with my problem.” Hang on. By saying that, you have just shown that you don’t really believe that Jesus cares for you.

Now, let’s see what the Bible says: “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Luke 12:7).

I love and care for my sweet daughter, Jessica. But as much as I adore her and care for her well-being, I have never, not once, counted the number of strands of hair on her head!

She does not know how great a blessing she has been to me. I love to kiss her, smell her hair, and hug her tightly. Yet, in all my great love for her, I have never taken the time to count the number of strands of hair on her head in all these years!

But do you know that your heavenly Father numbers the hairs on your head? I really hope that you are beginning to catch the heart of Jesus and not generalize His love for you. His love for you is all-encompassing. If He cares enough to keep track of the hairs on your head, is there anything too small for Him that you cannot talk to Him about?

My friend, His love for you is personal, detailed, and in-depth! Your heavenly Father wants you to involve Him even in the smallest, most mundane matters of your life, and see His unmerited favor surround you, protect you, and lead you to good success.
