Do you have a past that you are ashamed of? Are you struggling to overcome something that you know is destroying you? Do you feel all alone and that no one understands the pain you are going through?

I encourage you to read the remarkable story of the Samaritan woman in John 4. Considered a woman with a shady past, she was gossiped about in her village and probably shunned for being a home wrecker, a “stealer of husbands.”

Now, hers is not a fictional story. She was a real person, just like you and me. Her problems and pain, like many of ours, were real and hounded her every day . . . until she encountered a very real Savior!

Despite the custom of the Jews of that day to avoid any contact with the Samaritans, whom they perceived as spiritually inferior, John records that as Jesus was traveling from Judea to Galilee, “He had to go through Samaria” (John 4:4 NLT, emphasis mine)..

Pause with me and think about these words for a moment: Had to. Needed to. Must. Words that speak not just of necessity, but underscore a steady resolve and even urgency! Jesus had deliberately scheduled a divine appointment with the woman at the well, though she knew nothing about it.

We know from the account that this ostracized, lonely woman had a life-transforming conversation with Jesus at the well. But make no mistake—it wasn’t she who sought out Jesus to talk to Him. It was the Savior who pursued the one whom others shunned. Do you know that He is still doing that today?

Do you have a past that you are ashamed of? Are you struggling to overcome something that you know is destroying you? Do you feel all alone and that no one understands the pain you are going through?

I want you to know that Jesus hasn’t changed. As He was for the Samaritan woman, the loving Savior is still your very present help in your time of need (Ps. 46:1). He knows the suffering, shame, and struggles you are going through right now. And even if what you are going through is a consequence of bad life choices and mistakes of your own doing, He doesn’t abandon and forsake you.

No—a thousand times, no! He goes out of the way to have a personal appointment with you, to restore and rescue you. The fact that you are reading this right now is a confirmation that Jesus is reaching out to you with His love, grace, and forgiveness.

Talk to Him as the woman did. Taste and touch His grace and compassion for you as she did. And like her, discover Jesus’ forgiveness, freedom, and strength to walk into a bright new future.

Is your strength and ability to provide “withered” today? Jesus says to you, “Stretch out your hand, be healed and completely restored with the power to provide for yourself and your family!”

With each of the Lord’s blessings you experience, be encouraged to know that many more blessings are coming your way. Just as there are many seeds in one fruit, so each of Jesus’ blessings contains many seeds that will go on to provide many more blessings for you and your family.

Consider Jesus’ healing of the man with the withered arm. The Gospel of Luke tells us that it was the man’s right hand that was withered. Now, the right hand is a picture of strength and provision.

This man had lost not only his strength, but also his ability to provide! So when Jesus healed this man’s right hand, He not only performed a healing miracle, but He also restored to this man the power and the ability to provide for himself and his family! Hallelujah!

Is your strength and ability to provide “withered” today? Jesus says to you, “Stretch out your hand, be healed and completely restored with the power to provide for yourself and your family!”

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
“And note this: Some who seem least important now will be the greatest then, and some who ppl are the greatest now will be least important then.”
Luke 13:30, NLT

REVERSE THE ORDER
Some people live with a victim mentality or a lack mind-set, always feeling as though they’ll never get ahead, nobody gives them the time of day, they’re the least important. But our lot in life is to excel, to be the head and not the tail. You may be the tail now, but a great reversal is coming. God has ways of shifting things in your favor. Good breaks, divine connections, and favor will catapult you to the front.

Now you don’t have to strive, manipulate people, or force doors to open to make this happen. Just keep honoring God, doing the right thing when it’s hard, being good to people who are not being good to you. Keep praising God. Do your part, and God will do His part. Promotion doesn’t come from people; it comes from the Lord. The God we serve knows how to reverse the order. You’ll go from the back to the front, from being overlooked to being honored, from struggling to succeeding. It may not have happened yet, but your reversal is already on the schedule.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the reversal and favor You’ve already set up on the schedule for me. Thank You for the promotion, the connections, the healing, and the good breaks that You’ve already ordained to come across my path. I believe that You are orchestrating everything around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

It is the Lord’s manifested presence, His glorious power working in your heart and through your hands that will cause everything you touch to prosper with the Jesus-kind of results. In fact, even your harshest critic will have to conclude that the Lord is with you and is prospering the work of your hands!

Beloved, stop looking at your outward circumstances or the position you are in. Whether your employer is a believer or not, Jesus can make ALL that you do prosper when you depend on His unmerited favor in your career! And believe me, when that begins to happen, your employer will sit up and notice that there is something special about you. You will stand out in a crowd!

Remember that the same Lord who was with Joseph is with you today. His name is Jesus and because Jesus is with you, you can expect good success in everything that you do!

For example, when you are placed over a sales project, believe that your sales team will hit record levels of sales never achieved before in your organization. When you are overseeing the finances of a company, believe that you will find legal ways to help your company save on operating expenses and increase its cash flow like never before. When you are placed in a business development role, believe that Jesus will cause doors that have always been closed to your company to be opened to you because of His unmerited favor upon your life.

Perhaps your company is just a small IT start-up, but for some reason, all the big boys in the market, the tech giants, like you. They can’t put their finger on it, but there is just something special about you that makes them compete to find ways to collaborate with you, leaving you spoiled for choice!

Perhaps you are a homemaker. You can also expect Jesus’ presence in your life to give you favor with your children. Instead of constantly resisting and arguing with you, they will find you and your words irresistible. God can increase your influence over them.

My friend, that’s the unmerited favor of God in action. In the natural, you may be unqualified and inexperienced, but remember that all your disqualifications exist in the realm of the natural. You, beloved, live and operate in the supernatural realm!

The Lord Jesus is with you 100 percent. You are a successful person in the Lord’s eyes and as you depend on Him, He will cause everything that your hands touch to prosper.

Don’t sit on the sidelines of life intimidated, thinking you’re unqualified. Put your life, your dreams, your goals, and your talent into My hands and let Me multiply it.”

Today’s Word

Today’s Scripture
Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.
Matthew 14:16–17, NIV

GIVE WHAT YOU HAVE
Thousands of hungry people out in the middle of nowhere, and Jesus tells His disciples to give them something to eat. Impossible. But God will never ask you to do something and then not give you the ability to do it. When Jesus heard the disciples’ excuses, He said, in effect, “You’ve told me all about what you don’t have. All I want to know is what you do have. Don’t sit on the sidelines of life intimidated, thinking you’re unqualified. Put your life, your dreams, your goals, and your talent into My hands and let Me multiply it.”

Compared to what you’re facing now—the financial difficulty, the medical problem, or the size of your dreams—what you have may seem small. You could easily be intimidated. But God is saying, “Just give Me what you have.” If you be the best you can be right where you are, living with confidence, believing that God is breathing in your direction, then God will do for you what He did for the hungry crowd. He will take the little and turn it into much.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can give You my dreams and goals, and You will do something great with them. Thank You that You take the loaves and the fishes in my life and multiply them into something extraordinary. I gladly put my gifts and resources in Your hands today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

My dear reader, today you can experience God’s presence in your life. Say to yourself, “The Lord is with me and I have His favor, blessings, and protection.”

Sense His shadow covering you. His shadow is a picture of nearness. You are not trying to get into the secret place; you are already there in Christ. In Christ, you can’t get any closer to God.

In the Old Testament, God showed Moses, the great patriarch, only His back parts (Exod. 33:22–23). That’s the old covenant—because of man’s failure, God was always departing and the children of Israel only saw His back.

The picture of the new covenant is God sending His only Son, Jesus Christ. It is the picture of the father running toward the prodigal son in spite of his failures. Under the new covenant, we are seated with our heavenly Father in Christ and we see the smile on His face! That is how close you are to God today.

So even if your feelings tell you that God is a million miles away, learn to trust His Word over your feelings. All you need to do is to utter the words “Father” or “Abba,” and immediately you will sense that He is closer than your own breath.

In the same way, even when you don’t seem to feel His presence, you can trust in Him. Trust doesn’t mean that there will be no butterflies in your stomach. Trust means that even though you have the butterflies, you still act on God’s Word.

Whatever it is you are afraid of doing, do it afraid while keeping your trust in the Lord. There are people who are afraid to leave their house, fly on a plane, pursue a new career, start a new friendship, volunteer in a ministry, visit a care group in church, or even show up for work.

Beloved, don’t let fear rule your life. If you’re thinking of embarking on something, most certainly, be led by the Spirit, seek wise counsel, count the cost, and make responsible decisions in your situation. Just don’t allow the butterflies in your stomach to dictate your life.

When you say to the Lord, “In You I trust,” it doesn’t mean you instantly stop feeling any fear. Trust means choosing to act on God’s Word in spite of the fear.

TODAY’S WORD

Today’s Scripture
Israel said to Joseph, “I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too.”
Genesis 48:11, NIV

Mind-boggling
When Joseph was seventeen, his brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt, then convinced their father, Israel, that Joseph had been killed by a wild animal. Israel was so heartbroken that he could not be comforted and said he would “continue to mourn until I join my son in the grave.” Shockingly, twenty-two years later, Israel was told that Joseph was not only alive but the prime minister of Egypt. It was beyond his imagining that he would ever see Joseph again, let alone be able to pronounce a blessing over Joseph’s sons.

Do you see how awesome our God is? He’s working in ways that we could never fathom. We may have given up on a goal, a dream, or a desire, feeling that the door is closed. But God is about to surprise you. He’s going to do something out of the ordinary, something that you don’t see coming, that will boggle your mind. As with Jacob, you’re going to stand in awe, not believing your eyes. That’s how amazing our God is. Stay in faith. It’s still going to happen.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You have the awesome power to restore the things that seem dead in my life and bring dreams and desires to pass. Thank You that You are working in ways that I cannot fathom and that will boggle my mind. I believe that You are amazing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Are you like many today who believe in a “religious” God? Do you believe that God is against you when you fall short, that He is angry with you when you fail, and that fellowship with Him is cut off when you make mistakes?

SECTION TWO

It’s no wonder then that instead of running to the one true solution, many sincere folks run in the opposite direction when they are hurting. So there is a great deception, a powerful, wrong belief about God that has trapped many in the vicious cycle of condemnation, guilt, fear, defeat, and addiction.

My friend, I want you to know today that God is a God of infinite grace. He is repugnant to the “religious,” but gracious and irresistible to those who are hurting.

No matter what you are going through today, whatever addictions may be binding you, right believing can and will set you free. Start with believing this powerful truth:

God is a God of grace and forgiveness. He loves you very much, and He doesn’t hold your mistakes against you.

Don’t let the mistakes you have made in the past hold you back from reaching out to God and receiving His forgiveness for all your failures. Begin to believe right about the Lord, believe right about His heart and love for you, and your entire life will be transformed. Right believing always leads to right living!

AT THE CROSS, JESUS TOOK ON HIMSELF THE BITTER STING OF EVERY ONE OF YOUR FRUSTRATIONS, HURTS, AND EMOTIONAL PAINS WHEN HE WORE THE CROWN OF THORNS ON YOUR BEHALF.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him…then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
Deuteronomy 30:15–16, NIV

POSSESS THE LAND
Even though the first generation of Israelites that came out of⁹ slavery in Egypt had seen great miracles and were finally free, they turned back from entering the Promised Land when they saw the fortified cities and giants. They believed the wrong story that God would not make them victorious, that they always would be a defeated people. They came out of Egypt, but Egypt never came out of them.

Forty years later, the second generation had a different story. Their attitude was that they were going to see the fulfillment of today’s Scripture. They would not let their doubts, their fears, or the opposition rewrite their story and keep them in the wilderness. They saw themselves as sons and daughters of the Most High God. They were going to enjoy the abundance and blessings that their parents could have had. Don’t do as their parents did and let a wrong story—what you’ve been through, what looks too big—convince you that you can’t defeat your giants, you can’t accomplish your dream, or you can’t be healthy, successful, and fulfilled.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are always greater than any difficulty or adversity I will ever face. Thank You that my story is not that of a defeated slave, but I am well able to go in and take possession of the land. I believe that You are going to help me defeat giants and strongholds. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

Doctors tell us that many of the sicknesses we suffer in our bodies are psychosomatic—they are a result of mental or emotional stress we have put ourselves under.

Perhaps you were abused or emotionally hurt by someone you trusted. Maybe you still feel angry and hurt when you think about it. Beloved, I want to encourage you to start involving Jesus. He is your answer.

See the Lord holding you, gently healing your wounds. See Him restoring you, putting courage into your heart and taking away every sense of shame and guilt.

At the cross, Jesus took on Himself the bitter sting of every one of your frustrations, hurts, and emotional pains when He wore the crown of thorns on your behalf. He did it so that you can be free from fears, depression, and stress, and enjoy His peace and rest in your heart, mind, and body.

INSTEAD OF LIVING CONDEMNED, WHY DON’T YOU GO BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GOD AND RECEIVE THAT GRACE AND FORGIVENESS.

JOEL OSTEEN MINISTRIES
TODAY’S WORD

Today’s Scripture
But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.
Romans 5:20, NKJV

ABOUNDING GRACE
You haven’t superseded your allotment of grace. You haven’t made a mistake so big that God ran out of mercy. Instead of living condemned, why don’t you go boldly to the throne of God and receive that grace and forgiveness. God is waiting to gladly welcome you. But here’s the key: He won’t force you to come. In Luke 15, the compassionate father didn’t make the prodigal son return home. It was the young man’s choice after allowing sin to abound in his life. When he took steps to return to his father, his father came running with grace and mercy that was much more abounding.

When we feel the guilt and condemnation, we have to know that grace abounds much more. God sees our failures already covered by Jesus’ blood. Now we have to receive the forgiveness and see ourselves without fault. When you became a child of the Most High God, He made you worthy. You are the righteousness of God. It’s not your righteousness; it’s His righteousness. Lift your head and see yourself as God sees you.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I have been freely justified by Jesus’ redemption and that Your grace is abounding in me. Thank You that the power of Your grace rules over where sin has abounded in my life. I believe that Your grace has no limits. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

When the Lord blesses you, He blesses you beyond what you expect. In the healing of the man with leprosy, Jesus reached out and touched the man, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately, the man was healed.

My friend, did you notice that Jesus touched the man first before He healed him? I love these little gestures of Jesus!

That simple touch restored a sense of humanity and dignity to the man who had not been touched for a long time. Because of his unclean and physically repulsive condition, no one wanted to be close to him, much less touch him.

Jesus knew that the man needed more than just physical healing, so He gave above and beyond what the man had hoped for. Beloved, that’s the love and over-supplying grace of your Savior!

What is your lack today? Know beyond any doubt that Jesus’ provision will exceed all your expectations!

I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO BRING IN JESUS AND SEE WHAT HE DID FOR YOU AT THE CROSS

GOSPEL CORNER

I love the story of how God turned bitter, poisonous waters into sweet, refreshing waters for His people when they came to a place called Marah (meaning “bitterness” in Hebrew)

.When the Israelites could not drink the water, Moses cried out to the Lord. The Lord showed him a tree, which Moses cast into the waters. When he did that, the Bible says that “the waters were made sweet.”

Today, in the midst of the bitter waters of your pain or condition, I want to encourage you to bring in Jesus and see what He did for you at the cross. Relief and healing don’t come from dwelling on your pain. Bring in the tree—the cross of Jesus—and see your bitter waters become sweet!

I love how God’s solution then is still God’s solution now: Throw in the tree—a picture of Jesus at the cross—to turn the bitter waters sweet.

HAVE YOU BEEN AT THE RECEIVING END OF WORDS OF DISCOURAGEMENT, ACCUSATION, AND DISMISSAL? PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE

GOSPEL CORNER

01/12/24

Who do you think you are? Have you forgotten all the mistakes you’ve made?

Things will never get better. You should just accept your lot.

It’s not going to work—you are just going to fail again!

Nobody loves you. You are all alone.

Have you been at the receiving end of these words of discouragement, accusation, and dismissal?

I’ve seen these tactics of deception, loaded with condemning judgment, used too many times by the adversary. I’ve seen too many people, who have tried to move out from under the shadow of their past or break free from their addictions, end up succumbing to these lies about themselves, their identity, and their future and their destiny. As a result, they are unable to break free, and day after day, they simply live to perpetuate the pain, fears, and addictions to which they’re bound.

That’s the power of wrong believing.

Wrong believing puts people in a prison—a prison where its inmates behave as though they are incarcerated in a maximum-security penitentiary. They march inexorably to their dank cells of self-doubt and addictions. They allow themselves to be led into dungeons of destructive behaviors. They have convinced themselves never to dream of a better place, believing that they have no choice but to live in despairing, frustration, and defeat.

If that describes you, it’s time for a prison break, my friend. It’s time to break free from the crippling grip of all that has held you back. How? Through right believing—the light that illuminates the path of freedom out of this prison.

Know and believe that God does not want you to live imprisoned by fears, guilt, and addictions. Open your heart to believe His plan for you is to live with joy overflowing, peace that surpasses understanding, and an unshakable confidence in what He has done for you. Through the cross, Jesus has paid for you to have His abundant life—a life marked by His liberty, His power, and His blessings.

It’s time to let go of the life of defeat and step into a life full of victory, security, and God’s abundant grace!

WHEN YOU DON’T SEE A WAY OUT, YOU’LL BE TEMPTED TO COMPLAIN. NO, TURN IT AROUND AND PRAISE HIM FOR WHO HE IS.

GOSPEL CORNER

30/11/24

JOEL OSTEEN MINISTRIES
TODAY’S WORD

Today’s Scripture
Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness!
Psalm 150:2, NLT

UNEQUALED GREATNESS
You realize just how limited you are, but God is unlimited. We’re natural, but He’s supernatural. When you don’t see a way out, you’ll be tempted to complain. No, turn it around and praise Him for who He is. “Lord, praise You that You’re bigger than this sickness. Praise You that You’re stronger than this addiction. Praise You that You’re greater and more powerful than this trouble or these people.” You could be sending up doubt, defeat, and complaints, but you’re bragging on the goodness of God and sending up praise that sets miracles into motion. That’s when God will show up and do what you cannot do.

Sometimes we’re waiting for circumstances to change, then we’ll give God praise, then we’ll have a good attitude, but that’s backward. You have to praise God first. You have to have that song in your heart when nothing is changing. God is still on the throne. Keep thanking Him that He’s working. Keep declaring that you’re coming through this. Let every breath you take be with praise to the Lord.

SECTION TWO

There is so much wrong believing today about who Jesus is. I am asking you to throw out every idea, concept, and picture that you may have of a “religious” Jesus.

Allow me to introduce the real Jesus to you, for this is where it all begins. I’m not talking about the religious Jesus you may have heard about growing up, but the real Jesus who walked along the dusty streets of Jerusalem and upon the raging waters of the Galilee.

He was the one whom the sick, the poor, the sinful, the down and out, and the outcast instinctively gravitated to and felt at ease with. He was God in the flesh and He manifested God’s tangible love.

In His presence, those who were imperfect didn’t feel fearful of Him, or sense judgment or condemnation from Him. To those who sought Him for healing, restoration, and supply—no matter what their past or background—He always extended a loving, compassionate heart and hand to them and oversupplied their need.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, you don’t have to be “religious” to have access to God and His help. In fact, the less “religious” you are, the better. The real Jesus didn’t come to bring a new religion. He didn’t come to be served and waited upon. No, He came to serve, and serve He did.

The real Jesus created the universe with one command and orchestrated the paths of each planet so that none would collide. He had every right to demand service from those He created, yet He supplied service.

He bowed down and with His own hands washed the grime and filth from His disciples’ feet. Those same hands would later be pierced with coarse nails at the cross, and He would with His own blood wash us of the grime and filth of all our sins by taking them upon His own body. What a far cry from the condemning, judgmental, and faultfinding God whom many have portrayed Him to be!

This is the true Jesus—totally unlike what many of us have been taught about God. He is willing and able to meet your need today and love you into wholeness.
