WHAT’S THE BIGGEST THING YOUR BRAND HAS DONE FOR WOMEN?(A REFLECTION ON OUR CULTURE OF CORPORATE SOCIAL (IR)RESPONSIBILITY)

What’s the biggest thing your brand has done for women?
(a reflection on our culture of Corporate Social (ir)Responsibility)

BY KINGSLEY OBOM-EGBULEM

It is risky being a woman. That was what dawned on me on January 8, 2009- the day we lost a very wonderful woman”.

We were still basking in the euphoria that welcomed the new year when news of her demise filtered in. We were frozen, literally. It was one painful death that still hurts. She probably would be alive today if she weren’t a woman. I can bet on that.

She wanted a child. But had this uterine fibroid that needed to be taken out so she could conceive. She went under the knife and didn’t make it back. Her husband has since remarried and had three lovely kids with his “second” woman.

Another friend (a fantastic broadcaster and voice over artist) died eight years ago due to ‘postpartum hemorrhage’ that’s excessive bleeding after birth. Her doctor was clueless.

That is the life of a woman.

Just like the case of the chicken and bacon in the making of omelette ;one donates an egg, the other has to die.

Hence, my conclusions about the mystery of womanhood; a mystery attested to by the complex, sophisticated and delicate configuration of the feminine gender.

This mystery clearly assumes a burdensome albeit dangerous dimension as she transitions from womanhood to motherhood.

So, here is a creature “allotted” some disease conditions based on her physiological makeup. From endometriosis, to ovarian cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, postpartum hemorrhage, rhesus factor complication, to uterine fibroids, Interstitial Cystitis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and then the inevitable, almighty menopause.

You definitely don’t have to bother about any of these diseases if you are a man, and have no woman in your life. But these are the cross you must carry if you came into this world as a female. You’re sentenced to this dicey life.

Endometriosis is the most disturbing of them all. It sets off even before your life begins with excruciatingly painful menstrual flow. And then the pain and anguish becomes your second nature until way into your forties.

Now to the core of this dialogue. Is there anything your brand or your organisation is doing to draw attention to these issues?

I didn’t understand Postpartum Depression—another danger most women have had to confront in the course of child bearing. I never knew PD had such a devastating impact on women. This condition makes pregnancy, childbirth, and even motherhood look like suicide mission.

It took the loss of a lady close to me this year to truly understand how terrible this condition could be. Coincidentally, she passed on a few weeks before International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day. It was a tragic loss.

And while I was mulling over this potentially devastating condition, I found out that another lady-an even closer female friend, only recently had a close shave with postpartum depression. She got so bruised, her mom is now raising her baby.

“Uncle K, I couldn’t resume work for three years after I had my baby” she said.

“Jesus Christ!” I screamed as she scrolled through her phone and showed me photographs of herself; before she put to bed, a few months after delivery and what she looked like now.

Worldwide, about 10% of pregnant women (that is 100 out of every 1000) and 13% of women who have just given birth experience a mental disorder, primarily depression.

Postpartum depression is not a character flaw or a weakness. It is simply a complication of giving birth.

If left untreated, it can last for months or longer, sometimes becoming an ongoing depressive disorder. Like in the case of my friend, the woman could have issues returning to work or functioning normally in things they used to find fulfillment in.

Mothers may stop breastfeeding, have problems bonding with and caring for their infants, and be at increased risk of suicide. Even when treated, postpartum depression increases a woman’s risk of future episodes of major depression.

My friend has already given up having kids.

“And what is your company doing about lending a voice towards addressing this condition?”

My friend works as senior brand manager in her company. I couldn’t understand how a woman would go through such a tough moment in her life, return to work and not do something about it in her capacity.

“I understand that your brand is not a ‘feminine brand’ but couldn’t you have taken advantage of the International Women’s Day or Mother’s Day to draw attention to this same problem that you have only just survived?” I chided her.

She stared at me for a while and then the sense in what I was saying dawned on her.

“Sir, that’s not the direction of our CRS policy”. And I ask “would heaven’s fall, would it erode your brand if you invest significant funds to support interventions around early detection of breast cancer, raise awareness about postpartum depression, endometriosis, treatment for uterine fibroids and ovarian cancer?

Is it a crime to put some money on these issues, while funding climate change issues or bankrolling so-called influencers who only promote drug and substance abuse in the name of entertainment?

I was celebrating that Coca-Cola had spent over $137m in sponsorship as founding partners of the Special Olympics since 1968 until date. Only for me to realise that a brand in Nigeria has supported a Polo tournament for over 100 years.

Wow! That’s a record. But I couldn’t find out how this brand has invested consistently over this period in saving the lives of women.

We are still not sure how safe it is for women to ride in BRT Buses in Lagos at night. It took the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwole to realise this. The 22 year old fashion designer was abducted, raped and  murdered, allegedly by the driver of the BRT bus she boarded on February 26, 2022. We’ve all moved on since then. Bamise would be alive today if she weren’t a woman. That is how risky is to be a woman.

The plights of women living with disabilities is national shame. I was told about one of such women (a 20-year-old lady with cerebral palsy) who was raped by a neighbour. Her family didn’t realise it until her pregnancy became obvious. The suspect got away with it because the lady couldn’t talk. You can then imagine the level of sexual assault blind women go through when not protected.

Their plight depicts us as a callous, uncaring people. But would your brand support or fund an intervention for such women? Oops, I remember, such stuff doesn’t align with your CRS policy. Your brand is more concerned with the Oscars, Rugby and Polo. That’s fine. Kontinu!

GOSPEL CORNER: I WANT TO CHALLENGE YOU TO BREAK OUT OF A MENTALITY OF LACK BY CHOOSING TO FIX YOUR EYES ON AN ABUNDANT GOD, WHO HAS PUT HIS UNLIMITED RESOURCES AT YOUR DISPOSAL BECAUSE YOU ARE HIS BELOVED CHILD.

TODAY’S WORD

Today’s Scripture
“If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
John 20:23, NKJV

FORGIVENESS WILL FREE YOU
After Jesus rose from the dead, He spoke today’s Scripture to His disciples. When you retain someone’s sin, you hold on to it. God was saying that when you hold on to the wrongs people have done to you, the poison contaminates you. When you don’t forgive, the sin you retain that hurt you—that bitterness, anger, hatred, or criticalness—can produce the same results in you.

It can be very hard to forgive, especially when someone has hurt you, but you don’t have to forgive them for their sakes; you forgive for your own sake. Forgiving doesn’t mean you’re excusing anyone or lessening the offense. Forgiveness keeps their poison out of your life and takes away their power to keep hurting you. Forgiveness is about choosing to release the hurt and trust God to make it up to you, so you can claim the amazing future that awaits you. When you forgive someone, you set a prisoner free from chains of anger and bitterness. That prisoner isn’t the person who hurt you; the prisoner is you.

A Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that I can forgive other people of their sins and stay free from the poison it holds. Thank You that I can look to You to heal my hurts and right the wrongs done to me. I declare I won’t let bitterness, anger, or an offense have control over my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

Do you believe that our God is a BIG God of abundance and inexhaustible supply? He is the Possessor of heaven and earth. He is not El Cheapo. He is El Shaddai—the Almighty, all-sufficient and all-nourishing one!

And in Christ, the abundance of God’s wisdom, favor, ability, strength, and creativity that you need for a successful family, career, and ministry, are yours to experience and enjoy.

I want to challenge you to break out of a mentality of lack by choosing to fix your eyes on an abundant God, who has put His unlimited resources at your disposal because you are His beloved child.

What is your lack today? Do you need a job? Do you need more time? Or do you just feel overwhelmed by the demands of family and work? Instead of seeing the lack, start seeing a BIG God providing for you out of His abundance, a job you’ll love, wisdom to manage your time and shalom-peace at work and at home.

GOSPEL CORNER: WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS CRITICAL.

TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.
Psalm 92:12–14, NIV

FRESH AND GREEN
If you want to stay passionate and flourishing, you have to stay productive. You have to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning. When you’re not producing, you’re not growing. When you quit being productive, you start slowly dying. Don’t let a disappointment, a hurt, or a bad break cause you to sit back in self-pity and lose your passion. Shake off what didn’t work out. Quit mourning over what you’ve lost. A full life is still in front of you. You have not danced your best dance. You have not laughed your best laugh. You have not dreamed your best dream.

Some people quit living at fifty, but we don’t bury them until they are eighty. They lost their joy and stopped enjoying life. Don’t let that be you. You may retire from your job, but don’t ever retire from life. Stay busy. Keep using your mind. Keep helping others. Volunteer at the hospital. Babysit your relatives’ children. Mentor a young person. God promises that He will bring you to a flourishing finish, not a fizzling finish.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that Your plans for me are for good. I may not understand everything along the way, and it may not have been fair, but I’m not going to lose my passion and stop being productive and growing. I know You’re bringing me to a flourishing finish. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

Over the last two decades, I’ve had the privilege of ministering to precious people from all walks of life. I’ve had the honor of meeting people in my congregation and at conferences around the world and hearing their stories. For those whom I didn’t get to meet in person, their letters and emails to me told their stories.

Stories of liberation from years of anxiety and depression. Stories of being rescued from the prison of fear. Stories of breaking loose from destructive habits and addictions.

Yet, for every person who found their breakthrough, I also know of many who are still struggling today. They are bound by severe insecurities, trapped by all kinds of disorders, and gripped by constant fear. They’ve tried every solution they can think of, but are still desperately clawing to be freed from their emotional and physical prisons.

How did those who experienced victory break free? Why are others still trapped?

The answer is simple but powerful: their beliefs. What you believe is critical.

You see, if you believe wrong, you will struggle with wrong thoughts. Wrong thoughts will produce unhealthy emotions that will lead to toxic feelings of guilt, shame, condemnation, and fear. And those wrong feelings will ultimately produce wrong behaviors, actions, and painful addictions.

Wrong believing starts you on a path of defeat. It is what keeps you trapped and drives you deeper and deeper into paralyzing captivity.

Right believing, on the other hand, is the door out of this vicious cycle of defeat. When you believe right, you will live right. Right believing always produces right living.

Today, begin to believe right by choosing to know and believe in the powerful truths of God’s Word and in His love for you. In the days to come, set your heart to discover and meditate on the Savior you have in Christ and what He has already accomplished for you.

Choose to renew your mind with God’s truths about who you really are in Christ and how precious you are to Him. I pray that as you begin to encounter the person of Jesus, you will begin to experience your breakthrough and lasting victory!

GOSPEL CORNER: THE MORE YOU SEE IN HIS WORD WHAT HIS GRACE HAS DONE FOR YOU, THE MORE FEARS, CONDEMNATION, DEPRESSION, AND DESTRUCTIVE HABITS WILL LOSE THEIR GRIP IN YOUR LIFE.

TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.
Daniel 6:10, NLT

LION PROOF
Daniel was serving the king of Persia and was noted as having an excellent spirit and great wisdom. He consistently maintained his faith while living in a foreign land and refused to waver even when the king issued a decree that no one could pray to anyone but him. Despite the threats, he kept praying to Jehovah and ended up being thrown into the lions’ den. But when you have this attitude of faith, God will fight your battles for you. He sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions.

That’s what happens when you live your days exercising your faith. When you’re in a difficult situation, you rest in faith knowing that the same God who kept Daniel safe in the lions’ den has put a hedge of protection around you. You don’t shrink back in fear with thoughts such as, “Why is this happening to me?” Instead, you rise up in faith and say, “I am lion proof. I am coming out stronger, increased, and promoted just as with Daniel. God is even in control of my enemies.”

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You are the One who opens doors and gets me to where I want to be. Show me if there is anything that is holding me back from having an excellent spirit. I declare that I will be faithful and not shrink back and take the easy way out when pressure comes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO
What does “the truth shall make you free” really mean?

Examine the context of this verse and you’ll notice that Jesus said this to the Jews of His day. These were people who at an early age grew up studying and learning the law. Yet, these people, in ways very similar to us today, still battled with fears, anxieties, sicknesses, and all kinds of oppression, bondages, and addictions.

So this truth that Jesus was talking about clearly cannot be the law, because these people could not find freedom in the law. In fact, the truth of the law only brought them into religious bondage.

My friend, the truth that shall make you free, is the truth of His grace. This is the truth that He came to give us. His Word proclaims that “grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).

The good news is that grace came to set you free from the curse of the law. Grace is not a doctrine or a theological subject. When Jesus talks about grace, He is talking about Himself. Grace is a person. Grace is Jesus Himself.

The truth that has the power to fling wide open your prison doors is His grace. His grace is the antidote to counteract every poison in your mind!

When you encounter Jesus, taste His love, and savor His loving-kindness and tender mercies, every wrong belief begins to dissolve in the glory of His love. And every dark thought and evil addiction that may have held you captive cannot but scatter when it is exposed to the light of His grace!

Your freedom is found in rightly believing in Jesus—His favor and His love in your life. When you believe right about His grace, you will begin to live right.

The more you see in His Word what His grace has done for you, the more fears, condemnation, depression, and destructive habits will lose their grip in your life. And the more you believe and enjoy His grace and love, the more you’ll find the Lord’s wisdom, stability, and peace guiding your decisions and actions.

Right believing always produces right living and the right results.

EFCC TO PROSECUTE CUBANA CHIEF PRIEST FOR ALLEGED ABUSE OF THE NAIRA

17/ 04/24

ELIZA DD

The Anti graft Agency the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is stopping at nothing to nip in the bud the abuse of the “Naira”.

Hence the EFCC has lodged a three count charge against Lagos resident internet personality and socialite Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as ‘Cubana Chief Priest’ for allegedly spraying and tampering with the Naira notes at a social gathering held in February at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

His action is said to have violated the Central Bank Act(CBN) 2007.

Cubana Chief Priest is expected to appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court Lagos on Wednesday April 17th 2024.

The antigraft agency’s prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo(SAN) alongside seven other representatives who filed the charge on April 4th implicated the socialite Cubana Chief Priest to have tampered with N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria during multiple social events.

The first count alleged that on February 13th 2024 the socialite tampered with N500 notes at the said gathering for two hours; the second count cited a similar incident in Lagos in the year 2020 while the third count referred to another scenario in January 2024 also in Lagos.

The legal action is coming following the recent trial and sentencing of Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’”
Zechariah 4:7, NIV

17/04/24

KEEP YOUR VISION IN FRONT OF YOU.
In Ezra 4, Zerubbabel was leading the Israelites who had returned from exile in rebuilding the temple. He laid the foundation, but then enemies came against him and forced him to stop. For ten years no work was done. Then the prophet Zechariah told him to get the capstone, which was reserved to be the last piece of stone that went into the building. Why was it important for Zerubbabel to keep the capstone in front of him? Because every time he was discouraged and thought it was impossible to finish the job, seeing it was a reminder that God would finish what He started. That was God saying to him, “I’m going to bring it to pass. Just stay in faith.”

What are you believing God for? Keep your vision in front of you. Find something that is symbolic of that dream, something that inspires your faith, and put it in a place where you see it every day. Every time you see it, say, “Thank You, Lord, for bringing my dreams to pass.” What you keep in front of you, you’re moving toward.

Answer Your Name Oh Lord

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that the work You have started in my life will be brought to completion. Thank You that I will become everything You created me to be. Help me to keep the vision in front of me and to know that You are bringing my dreams to pass. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

It must have drawn many looks—some curious, some sympathetic, some possibly of disgust. For the owner and all who saw it, the withered hand must have spelled “challenging,” “difficult,” and very likely, “impossible to heal.”

But where others saw the witheredness, Jesus saw only God’s supply of healing and wholeness available to the man. That’s why He said to him, “Stretch out your hand.”

Jesus didn’t see the lack others saw. He only saw the Father’s super abundant supply of grace all over that withered hand. He saw the Father’s heart to heal and bless the man!

Today, don’t focus on your pain, symptoms, or the doctor’s negative report. Whether it’s an aching back, ailing heart, or barren womb, see His healing power enveloping your body. See His grace supplying life and health to you!

GOSPEL CORNER: HEAR YOUR LORD JESUS WHISPERING TO YOU, “PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE TO YOU; NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES DO I GIVE TO YOU. LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, NEITHER LET IT BE AFRAID” (JOHN 14:27).

TODAY’S WORD

Today’s Scripture
See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”
Isaiah 48:10, NIV

REFINED
The Scripture talks about the “furnace of affliction,” where you could either give up and get sour or you can say, “God, I’ll show You what I’m made of. I’ll forgive those who hurt me. I’ll keep believing even though it looks impossible. I’ll stay in faith even though it was unfair.” When you pass those tests, something is deposited inside that nothing can take away. There is a trust, a confidence, a knowing that can be developed only by going through the fire of affliction. I’ve learned that God is not as interested in changing my circumstances as He is in changing me.

Where you are today is not nearly as important as who you are becoming. While God is changing the “where,” allow Him to change the “who.” God puts us in the furnace to refine us, to take out the impurities, the selfishness, impatience, anger, and resentment. If you let God refine you and make the necessary changes in your life so you treat people well and handle disappointments without complaining, you can be used for God’s highest purposes.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

“Father, thank You that You are refining my life with fire and using the pressure of challenges to make me stronger and grow my character. Thank You that every test of my faith is preparing me to overcome and persevere, to go higher and increase. I believe that I am coming out better. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

Beloved, in the natural, there are so many reasons for us to be afraid. We can be fearful of terrorist attacks. We can be worried about contracting diseases and plagues. We can be anxious about destruction and accidents. Round the clock, there seems to be legitimate reasons for us to be filled with dread.

But there is a realm that is higher than what we see in the natural, and I declare to you today that YOU SHALL NOT BE AFRAID. Fear is a spiritual condition, and cannot be combated with a natural answer, or by us trying to reason it away. The Bible tells us that the natural mind cannot understand things that are spiritual (1 Cor. 2:14).

So how can you not be afraid? Invite the God of peace to reign in your life. As you do that, the robust peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

Beloved, as you allow the Lord Jesus to be your refuge and your hiding place, you can receive the peace that He gives. Today, hear your Lord Jesus whispering to you, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

Receive His supernatural peace, which is beyond what is logical, beyond what your limited mind can comprehend. Receive His supernatural peace that will guard your heart and become a bulwark for your mind. And may Jehovah Shalom, our God of Peace, fill your heart and set you free to live fearlessly in these dangerous times!

“I Love My Body”: We Use Bare Hands To Detect Various Sicknesses- Says Onome Osekhabamen

BY: STELLA WILLIAMS
We are promoting ORIGIN POINT THERAPY,” also known as “ORIGIN POINT MASSAGE” where we use bare hands to detect various sicknesses
“I Love My Body Concept” is the art of using the hands as a mechanism for detecting and healing various ailments and diseases bedeviling Mankind.
Speaking at the preview event today, the convener of “I Love My Body” Mrs. Onome Osekhabamen, who is the Managing Partner, of CRUX International Limited, said, “This concept I Love My Body is to raise the consciousness and awareness of all the people living in Lagos state and other states on how to take care of their body.

“Crux Care International Limited is the number one drugless company in the world at the moment, what do we do? We are promoting “Origin Point Therapy,” also known as “Origin Point Massage” where we use bare hands to detect various sicknesses and treat them, if need be, we can also add natural spices.
“We believe that since man was made from the soil, the only thing that can treat a man and take care of the human body should also be from the soil”.

According to Mrs. Onome,” drawing from the Bible,” when God created Adam (during Creation), he gave him plants to tender, that was what they needed to take care of their body.
“If everyone has the consciousness that you should love your body enough to take care of it, it is not enough to take self photographs, this is not self-love, the true self-love is to take care of your body, she notes.
On my advice, one needs to eat right, take the right things around you and, be free from sicknesses, “we aim to depopulate the hospitals”.
We want to train up to five hundred people (500), who do not have jobs, teach and train them on how to use their hands to treat people and help themselves.
She appealed to Government, that since they are providing skill acquisition programs for the people, the government can support them by integrating them into their programs. We need to get people out of hospitals using this method, she said.
In his contribution, the Chief Operations Of the company, Dr. Joseph Dorwodoe “questioned why people would allow sicknesses to interfere with their body without doing the right thing to take care of it. ” what we do, he said, “We use our hands, also known as ” hand of Technique’s “we train people to use their hands and eat their food as their medicine including exercise, they will get back their body”.
Dr. Dorwode noted, “If the government can partner with us at CRUX International Limited, we are ready to train a lot of people through the government. In the course of this program, we have recorded massive results of healing to treat ailments like cancer, and glaucoma, using the hand of Technique to tackle them without using drugs.
In his submission, Mr. Patrick GreatWealth, the awareness campaigns officer of the company enjoined Nigerians to come out and be trained, adding that the forums are created to showcase the healing power of point-of-origin therapy in providing healing solutions to all ailments.
Here are some of the participants who spoke to Waka About Africa about how they got immediate relief from their ailments,
Mrs. Ikeji Winifred told our reporter that she received healing after suffering acute pains for several years, while Mrs. Glory Bright and Efetobore Onwuegbuzie also testified and praised the initiative. Meanwhile, “I Love My Body” training of about 500 people is an ongoing, interested candidate can reach the management on the official line – (08033946445).

GOSPEL CORNER: IF YOU ARE IN THE MIDST OF COMMITTING TO AN IMPORTANT BUSINESS AGREEMENT, I ASSURE YOU THAT IF YOU CAN SEE THE LORD THERE WITH YOU, HIS WISDOM WILL FLOW THROUGH YOU, AND HE WILL GIVE YOU ...

15/04/24

### Something very unique and precious happens when you see that the Lord is with you. Trust the Lord to open your eyes to see Him in your situation, and the more you see Him, the more He manifests Himself.

If you are in the midst of committing to an important business agreement, I assure you that if you can see the Lord there with you, His wisdom will flow through you, and He will give you supernatural insight to locate any loopholes, details, or exit clauses that are missing from that contract that you are about to sign.

lead Me Jesus Christ

Once you involve Jesus and acknowledge His presence, you will sense Him intervening in any decision you are about to make, through the absence or presence of His peace. Sometimes, everything can appear to be in order on the surface, but somehow, you may sense a discomfort rising up in you every time you think about your decision. My advice to you would be to not rush into it.

You see, once you have involved the Lord, the lack of peace that you feel is often His leading to protect you. You can even be in the midst of an argument with your spouse, but the moment you become conscious of the Lord’s presence, your words will change.

Somehow, there will be a supernatural restraint that you know is not from yourself. That is also the Lord!

Beloved, it is important for you to eradicate the notion that the Lord is present to find fault with you.

You may have been raised in an environment where your parents were constantly picking on your faults and pointing out your mistakes, but don’t project this characteristic onto the Lord.

***God knows every idiosyncrasy about you, yet He loves you perfectly because He sees you through the lens of the cross, where His Son has removed every failing from your life. This means that even your current argument with your spouse is washed by the blood of Jesus.**

The Lord’s presence is with you not to judge you or smack you on the head with a giant bat the moment you fail. No, my friend, His presence is with you to direct you, guide you, lead you into becoming more like Christ, and to make you a success in every endeavor you undertake.

JESUS PAID AN IMMENSELY HEAVY PRICE ON THE CROSS SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE LIFE COMPLETELY ACCEPTED AND UNCONDITIONALLY LOVED BY GOD. KNOWING AND BELIEVING THIS WILL MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE—NO MATTER WHAT IS STARING YOU IN THE FACE.

14/04/24

One of our key ministry partners, Ron, shared how he had a dear friend named Tyler, who was from a good Christian family, was great at sports, and was living the “American Dream.” After college, however, Tyler started hanging out with the wrong crowd and developed a severe drug and drinking problem, which in turn led to a series of devastating mistakes.

Within a twenty-four-month period, Tyler lost everything he held dear in his life. Ashamed and miserable, Tyler dropped out of church and almost gave up on life, God, and grace. But God, in His grace, was still reaching out to Tyler (through Ron), as Ron related in this story:

One night, while jogging at a park and listening to a message by Pastor Prince, I felt God prompting me to send Tyler a text message. I felt that God wanted me to ask Tyler, “What does God see when He looks at you?” So while running, I texted him exactly those words. After a long time, I received his text reply:

Tyler: “Are you serious?”

Ron: “Yes.”

Tyler: “Well . . . I’m sure it’s not good.”

Ron: “Jesus.”

Tyler: “What do you mean?”

Ron: “I mean, when God looks at you, He sees Jesus!”

Thirty minutes later, I got this message:

Tyler: “Thanks, man, you don’t know how badly I needed to hear that!”

He Paid Your Debt

Would it bless your heart to know that this is the very message God wants you to receive today? If you are like Tyler, then you believe God’s love for you depends on your actions.

You honestly believe God is ashamed of you because of your mistakes and failures. Well, you may have either not heard or have forgotten that the payment for your sins has already been made in full upon the body of Jesus at the cross.

Therefore, when God looks at you today, He doesn’t judge, esteem, and measure you according to your imperfections. He sees you in the Beloved—He sees you in Christ, and He sees the blood that has been shed for you by His dear Son.

When God looks at you today, He sees Jesus. Because of this, His thoughts toward you are thoughts of loving-kindness, forgiveness, blessings, and favor.

Jesus paid an immensely heavy price on the cross so that you can live life completely accepted and unconditionally loved by God. Knowing and believing this will make all the difference in how you live your life—no matter what is staring you in the face.
