TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
FOR THOSE GOD FOREKNEW HE ALSO PREDESTINED TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON.
ROMANS 8:29, NIV

BE CONFORMED TO THE RIGHT IMAGE
The reason some people are so stressed and run-down is they feel they have to perform, pretend, and keep up with their friends and others. They have their image on the throne and do things to protect how they’re seen. But you need to take your image off the throne and put God back on the throne. If others only accept you if you perform to their standards, they’re not true friends. It’s such a freedom when you can be real, be vulnerable, and not worry about what other people think. If you’re obsessed with your image, you can’t be conformed to the image of Jesus, and you’re not going to become who you were created to be.

You don’t have to hide or pretend or worry about what people will think. The people who look like they have it all together have issues too. Everyone is dealing with something. Don’t waste another day trying to get their approval. You don’t need them to validate you. Almighty God has already approved you. Be confident in who God made you to be.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You predestined me to be conformed to the image of Jesus. Thank You that I can get off the treadmill of impressing and pleasing others and just live for Your approval. I’m going to live confidently and boldly be the person You created me to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

PSALM 91 ENDS WITH THE POWER-PACKED VERSE, “WITH LONG LIFE I WILL SATISFY HIM, AND SHOW HIM MY SALVATION.” Many years ago, the Lord opened my eyes to see that apart from the four names of God that we covered in the first two verses of Psalm 91, there is another name of God, a fifth name, concealed in the very last word of Psalm 91.

You see, in Hebrew, the word “salvation” is the word yeshua. And Yeshua is the Hebrew name of our Lord Jesus! Now, isn’t that beautiful?

This is what God was saying: “With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My Yeshua.” Long life is found in our Yeshua. You can know God as El Elyon, God Most High, as the Almighty Shaddai, as Jehovah, and even as Elohim, but the name that gives you full and utter confidence is the name Jesus!

It is not enough to know that God is all-powerful. It is more important you know that God is willing to use His power and might to save you!

That’s what our Lord Jesus did at the cross for you and me. He came and He showed us His salvation by sacrificing Himself on the cross for your sins and my sins.

He died young that we may live long. And not just live long in this world. At the cross, He purchased for us the gift of eternal life, paid for with His own blood. The moment you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your salvation in Him was sure and secure!

I grew up in a church where I was taught that when you sin, you will lose your salvation and have to get born again all over again. This erroneous teaching oppressed my mind day and night. The enemy incessantly attacked me with thoughts that I had lost my salvation. As I was seeking the Lord for answers one day, He opened my eyes and pointed me to the above Scripture passage from 2 Timothy.

Just like that, when the truth of God’s Word came in, all the oppression left me. And every time the thought that I had lost my salvation reared its ugly head again, I would quote this verse, boldly declaring, “It is written, ‘And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom.'”

Beloved, I highly recommend that you meditate on this Scripture. In this one verse you find the Lord’s protection and preservation unto eternity!

GOSPEL CORNER : YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT WILL CAUSE YOUR SPOUSE TO BLOSSOM, YOUR CHILDREN TO BLOOM, YOUR LOVED ONES TO FEEL MORE SECURE...

TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
GENTLE WORDS CAUSE LIFE AND HEALTH; GRIPING BRINGS DISCOURAGEMENT.
PROVERBS 15:4, TLB

BRING HEALING AND WHOLENESS.
You have something that will cause your spouse to blossom, your children to bloom, your loved ones to feel more secure. It’s not your money, your hard work, or your accomplishments; it’s your kind words. They need to hear how much you love them, how much you believe in them, how great you think they are. Today there are so many voices saying harsh things, being rude and demeaning, trying to push people down. We need to be just as bold and speak our mind in a positive way. God is counting on us to be healers, to be lifters, to be encouragers.

Don’t let a day go by when you don’t say something kind to the people God put in your life. It’s not enough to just think it; your thoughts don’t nourish anyone. A blessing is not a blessing until it’s spoken. They need to hear, “I love you. I’m proud of you. You’re beautiful. You’re going to do great things.” Make it your business to nourish people’s souls, to bring healing and wholeness.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You for the people You have placed in my life and the special role You have given me in their lives. Thank You that You can take my words of encouragement and bring healing and wholeness to them. Help me to see who I can bless and lift up today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

SECTION TWO

The Gadarene demoniac was someone who was isolated, left alone, and shunned by people. He had no one to turn to. People were afraid of him and there was no one who could heal his condition—until Jesus came.

Jesus crossed the entire lake of Galilee just to heal this man, despite the devil trying to stop Him with a storm. He travelled a great distance just to minister healing to that man and set him free. That’s the kind of loving Savior He is!

Just as Jesus went a long way to heal one man, He went to great lengths, to the point of death, to purchase liberty, blessings, and health for you. No sickness or circumstance, however grave or disastrous, is greater than what He has already done for you!

GOSPEL CORNER: WE ARE FORGIVEN BECAUSE HE WAS JUDGED. WE ARE ACCEPTED BECAUSE HE WAS CONDEMNED!

11/03/24

In the account of the woman caught in adultery, the Bible is silent on what Jesus wrote on the ground with His finger. But I believe that when He stooped down, He was writing the Law of Moses.

I have been to Jerusalem many times. During one of my visits many years ago to the temple precinct where Jesus would have met this woman, the Lord opened my eyes to see that the floor of the temple precinct was made of hard cobblestone.

This means Jesus was not writing on soil. He was writing with His finger on stone.

Then, in a flash, I saw that Jesus was writing the law on stone. He was effectively saying to the Pharisees, “You presume to teach Me about the Law of Moses? I am He who wrote the law.”

Jesus wrote twice on the ground with His finger, thus completing the typology, as we know that God wrote the Ten Commandments with His finger twice.

The first set of the Ten Commandments was destroyed by Moses when he saw the Israelites worshiping the golden calf at the foot of Mount Sinai. God then wrote another set on stones and gave it to Moses for it to be placed under the mercy seat in the ark of the covenant.

I had never heard anyone preach this before—it was a fresh revelation straight from heaven. I love it when the Lord opens my eyes to see His grace!

Do you know why it’s so exciting to know what Jesus wrote on the ground that day? It’s so significant because it shows us that the very author of God’s perfect law does not use the law to judge and condemn us today.

And it’s not because God simply decided to be merciful on us. No! It’s because Jesus Himself fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law on our behalf and took upon Himself every curse and stroke of punishment for our sins on His own body at the cross.

We are forgiven because He was judged. We are accepted because He was condemned!

Whatever your challenge today, your answer is found in receiving a fresh revelation of how much you are forgiven in Christ.

GOSPEL CORNER:THE CROSS,MY FRIEND, IS THE FOUNDATION FOR LASTING BREAKTHROUGHS AND GENUINE INSIDE-OUT TRANSFORMATION

10/03/24

The cross, my friend, is the foundation for lasting breakthroughs and genuine inside-out transformation! I submit to you that many people are unable to experience lasting breakthroughs from their fears, addictions, and bondages because they don’t yet understand the gospel of grace.

You can evaluate how well you understand what Jesus accomplished at the cross for you by looking at how free you are in Christ today. Are you constantly struggling with thoughts of fear, doubt, guilt, and condemnation? Are you persistently entangled in a sinful habit or addiction?

If that is you, you need to study, meditate upon, and feed on the gospel of grace. Don’t back away from grace; be strong in the grace of God extended to you. Be strong in understanding that your sins are forgiven. Be strong in the knowledge that you are justified by faith through grace. Be strong in the revelation that today, you are the righteousness of God in Christ.

When you are strong in the gospel of grace, you will produce a godly, holy, and glorious life! In the same way that you can’t touch water and not become wet, you can’t “touch” grace and not become holy.

And this holiness is a true holiness that comes from the inside out. It is a holiness that flows from a heart that has been emancipated from self-condemnation.

We are not talking about superficial outward changes. We are talking about changes that happen in the deepest recesses of a person’s heart, motivations, and thoughts. Real change in a person whose heart is washed by the precious blood of Jesus and touched by His grace brings lasting breakthroughs.

TODAY’S WORD

Today’s Scripture
Love…keeps no record of being wronged.
1 Corinthians 13:4–5, NLT

NO RECORD BOOK
You might see your relationship with someone go to a whole new level if you just get rid of the record book. Some people have a mental list of everything anybody has done wrong to them for the last twenty years. They have a detailed scorecard, listing every time their spouse hurt them, every time their boss was thoughtless or rude, every time their parents missed a grandchild’s game.

As long as you are bringing up pain from the past, you are going to have strife in your present. You may be right about what happened, but do you want to be right, or do you want to have peace in a relationship? Do you want to have your way, or do you want to have a healthy relationship? Instead of keeping a list of slights or offenses, it could change your life greatly if you get in the habit of throwing out your negative record book. Learn to cover the weaknesses in the people who are close to you and focus on the good. Believe the best in people and move on.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for loving me, for forgiving me, and for not keeping a record of my sins and failures. I want to be someone who loves others with Your love, who covers their faults and weaknesses and doesn’t bring them up. Help me to focus on the good and keep moving on. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SECTION TWO

Our Lord Jesus sent seventy disciples out against the kingdom of darkness, as “lambs among wolves.” Look in today’s scripture at the exchange between the seventy disciples and the Lord Jesus when they returned. My friend, the power and authority our Lord Jesus gave them to operate in is the power and authority we have as believers today!

Romans 16:20 declares that the God of peace will crush Satan underneath our feet! He is a defeated foe. The Bible is very consistent and always puts the devil beneath your feet (Gen. 3:15, Eph. 1:22).

You are not at the mercy of the enemy’s attacks. Don’t put him on a pedestal, as if he has power and dominion over you. Remind yourself that in Christ, you are “far above all principality and power and might and dominion” (Eph. 1:21), and every lion and serpent you shall trample underfoot!

We exercise our authority as believers when we go on the offensive against the enemy today. How do we do that? We wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God! Our authority, our strength, and our victory are found in His Word.

Look at how the Bible describes the armor of God: “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Eph. 6:14–17).

Do you see that the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is the only piece of the armor that is offensive? That is why, for every round of attack the devil launched at our Lord Jesus, He fought back with the sword of the Spirit—He used the written Word of God.

When we pray the prayer of protection in Psalm 91, we are praying according to the Word of God and wielding the sword of the Spirit. So no matter what report is roaring at you, be it from doctors, bankers, or from the news media, take your place of authority and lay hold of scriptures for your situation. Fight back with the Word of God!
