The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced plans by the state government to sustain the patial lockdown of economic activities it introduced two weeks ago.

The Governor also threatened to revoke the operating licences of any organisation that neglects the guidelines issued by the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu while Speaking at a press briefing Sunday evening, directed corporate entities especially financial institutions to attend to the elderly, between the hours of 9am and 10:30am before opening to the general public.

It would be recalled that since the gradual ease of the lock down in Lagos,many People have carried on With their usual activities in a manner that negates the principles of Social And Physical distance, there by promoting disease spread

67 COVID-19 Patients have been discharged in Lagos after testing negative to the virus.
They include 22 females And 45 Males including 3 foreign nationals,2 Indians and 1 Chinese.

1)Total Discharged – 67

2) Females – 22

3) Males – 45

4) Including 3 foreign national (2 Indians and a Chinese).

They were discharged from the various isolation centres as seen below.

5) Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba – 24.

6) Onikan IC – 22

7) Agindigbi IC – 11

This brings to 608 Total Discharged Patients in Lagos since the outbreak of the pandemic

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari received the Madagascan native formulation against the Covid-19 pandemic on Saturday.

Speaking At a meeting with President Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea Bissau who brought along with him to the Presidential Villa samples of the traditional medicine as shared to African nations by Madagascar, President Buhari said his position on all such herbal or traditional medicinal postulates had remained the same,and that he will listen to science before allowing traditional or any new medicines to be administered on Nigerians.

On the main reason for his visit, President Embalo said having stabilized his country after the tussles that attended the general elections won by him, he had come to seek counsel from President Buhari on his plan for a government of national unity and a proposed war against corruption in his country.

He also said that his new government met a country beset with a number of issues and problems, the resolution of which would require tremendous assistance from Nigeria.

President Buhari used the opportunity of the visit to praise the good work that the President of Niger Republic, Mahamadou Issoufou, who is the current Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is doing in the sub-region, and commended him for keeping him informed of all that is happening around.

PRESS RELEASE

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has designed a new activity aimed at improving the health and well-being of poor, urban adolescents .

The Approach is using a new, inclusive “co-creation” method to better understand the challenges faced by young person in leading healthy and productive lives.

USAID in a press release disclosed that The result was the five-year, $15 million award of the Youth-powered Ecosystem to Advance Urban Adolescent Health and Well-being activity to DAI Global, which will lead a group of specialized local partners to establish and strengthen a network of “youth hubs in Lagos and Kano States.

According to the statement, The hubs will provide two million adolescent girls and boys with safe spaces where they will acquire skills to lead healthier, more productive lives through counseling on reproductive health, practical information for workforce development, and fun activities and sports that encourage self-esteem and team building.

Deputy Health Office Director of USAID, Minal Amin, who coordinated the effort says The Nigerian organizations that participated in the process will be pivotal in reaching vulnerable youth with life-saving information and services and helping adolescents reach their fullest potential.

The Lagos state government has discharged 13 more COVID19 patients from various isolation centres in the state.

The information was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the state Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu.

the patients who had tested nagative twice before their release includes 11 males and 2 females all of whom were Nigerians were discharged from the Yaba and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation facilities.

With this, the number of COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 541.
