The first cannabis farm discovered in the northern part of the country is at Saboshi Village in the Dutsi Local Government Area of Katsina State, which the NDLEA described as shocking and worrisome.

According to the Deputy Commander of the agency, Idris Usman, the cannabis farm owned by 30-year-old Mas’ud Bukar, was mixed with other crops, to deceive officers and men of the NDLEA.

Usman further added that during their Stop And Search Operation on the Kano-Katsina highway, the command intercepted two different suspects, Bashir Sa’adu and Muhammadu Yusuf 29 years old, with 1,730 bottles of codeine-based syrups, worth over 10 million Naira, and 8,000 capsules of tramadol.
