*ROYAL RECOGNITION BY THE MONARCH AND PEOPLE OF ISUOFIA FOR THEIR ILLUSTRIOUS SOLUDO.*

It was apparent from his tone of voice and mien that Igwe C. A. O.Moghalu, a retired colonel and the Isu 11 n’ Isuofia is very proud of his globally celebrated subject Cee Cee Soludo when we paid him a courtesy visit ,January 1, 2021 as part of the activities that culminated in the inauguration of Soludo Promoters Forum, Isuofia chapter.
The sleek and amiable Monarch with an impressive gait made it clear that Soludo is somebody you cannot ignore whether you like or hate him because of the values he brings to the table. He went further to gleefully regale us with Soludo’ s international and local exploits which have brought enormous Goodwill to his community.

It therefore comes as no surprise that a grateful Muoghalu and his subjects from the six villages – Umueze, Ozalla, Isiaku, Okpoko, Akulu and Ezioka will on August 14, 2021 confer a chieftaincy title in recognition of the Goodwill Soludo has brought to the community and the numerous socio-economic development he has ignited . The people of Isuofia are looking forward to the event which also marks their New Yam Festival. Ndi Anambra also can’t wait.

Long before blowing into international and national prominence, Soludo eloquently proved that the morning tells the day. Even without the proverbial silver spoon, he started early in life to support others to find their feet through his endowments. He offered extramural lessons for secondary school students of his community during long vacations plus counseling them on career opportunities.

Later as University Lecturer, he played crucial roles in generating awareness for the importance of education in his community and raising funds for bright and indigent students. He was reported to be one of the highest donors to the fund. The result is that today, Isuofia has a plethora of professionals in virtually all fields of human endeavours.

One remarkable thing about Soludo is that he has remained a true son of Isuofia notwitstanding his international undertakings. He attends his village age grade and other meetings where he and others continue to enrich the quality of the conversations.
He proudly serves as the patron of one of the younger age groups who hold him in high respect and consideration.

Obviously, Soludo’ s name will be written in gold for the role he played in restoring peace to Isuofia after 22 years of internal crisis.
The astute way and manner he deployed in broking the truce has now become a template for other communities having internal crisis to copy in search of resolutions. It is important to stress that Isuofia’ s crisis predated his years in public service.

While the Isuofia people greatly appreciate his social investment programmes in improving the quality of lives in their community in health, education and human empowerment, Soludo has in humility and good conscience, remained taciturn in blowing his trumpet. But we can bet that appreciative Muoghalu and his subjects from the six villages will on August 14 2021 let the cat out of the bag by showing and telling Soludo’ s philanthropic undertakings. Like a gold fish in a glass bow, he can no longer hid or can he?

Be of good cheer.

*Soludo@61: He Will Make The Governor We Will Be Proud Of*

Despite the normal hiccups associated with the contest for power, Cee Cee Soludo’s ideas and vision have continued to bring friends and foes together in pursuit of an Anambra State that will rank as number one in Africa, in security, prosperity and happiness, building on the achievements of Governor Willie Obiano.

It is on this score that majority of Ndi Anambra believe that he is the ideal person to be the Governor of the State, given the prevailing socio-economic circumstances. He has ample personal endowments, variegated experience and sound exposure, in order to hit the ground running in the post-oil era and in the 4th Industrial Revolution. He also appreciates that our greatness lies in our past and is globally acclaimed as a thinker and an exceptional doer that thinks global and acts local.

Today is Soludo’s birthday. We join his family and friends across the globe to wish him well and celebrate this milestone. We celebrate a life of commitment and devotion to making society better than he met it, which has underpinned all his interventions in his public and private endeavours. Succinctly put, he has put enormous time and resources, thinking and working on breaking or reducing the growing dynasty of poverty in our society.

Okpoko, a sprawling slum at the outskirts of Onitsha, where hundreds of thousands live in squalid conditions is one place, for example, that continues to agitate his mind on how to make the residents live a better life. Repeatedly, he talks about Okpoko and how it will be the yardstick to measure his interventions in improving the standard of living among the populace, when he becomes Governor, by the Grace of God.

Another thing that agitates Soludo’s mind is what many regard as the identity crisis in our culture and values. He however, has a handle on the causes, effects and solutions. He says we can measure it and once it is measured, it can be solved. In virtually every aspect of our lives, the percentage of deviants is insignificant. He assures that our society can redeem itself, given the right leadership – in my words, his leadership.

Overall, Soludo canvasses and rightly too, that quality education is a tool that helps to break the dynasty of poverty. He knows this, having been in that valley himself.

Therefore, since he has worn the shoes of the poor, the middle class and the upper class, he knows where it pinches across board and will bring solutions that will give happiness.

Finally, the promise of SOLUTIONS which propels us is worth fighting for all of us and generations yet to come, as we have no doubt he will make us proud as Governor.

Happy Birthday, Cee Cee Soludo!

Be of good cheer!

SOLUDO BEING HARASSED..A LESSON TO BE LEARNT FROM HISTORY

*Soludo Is Being Harassed To Give Up His November 6, 2021 Governorship Bid Just Like They Did To Zik in the 1979 Presidential Election.*

Those prodding Hon Chukwuma Umeoji to torpedo Anambra’ s journey to One State Livable Megacity should take a lesson from history- that it is futile fighting the people and by extension God. Ndi Anambra have bought into the vision and it is too late in the day to change that.

Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe’s political journey was full of highs and lows. In the run up to the 1979 military return to civil rule, Zik formed the Nigeria Peoples Party(NPP)
which beared striking resemblance to today’s All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Zik was liked and hated by his fans and foes in equal measures but he was one man you cannot ignore in Nigeria’s political emancipation, economic development or soapbox battles. And he was to be stopped. And his party NPP was to be annihilated as it was perceived to represent the interest of Ndigbo just like APGA

So they said he did not pay tax. On evidences that he did, they manufactured a new tax legal jargon. Yes Zik paid tax but he did not pay ” as at when due”. To cut the story short, the above and other bottlesnecks were booby traps to weaken his resolve or distract him just like those behind Hon Chukwuma Umeoji are doing to distract Cee Cee Soludo. But this time, they are more ferocious and deadly.

On March 31, unknown gunmen(whatever that means) stormed Isuofia Civic Centre in commando gestapo style to possibly assassinate Soludo where he was having an interactive session with youths of his community. Thankfully, the evil scheme failed after leaving behind so much collateral damages.

Unfazed, Soludo intensified his local government consultation with party faithfuls and support groups. It was no surprise that he coasted home with an unprecedented margin in one of the the most transparent primaries in Nigerian political experiment. But the enemies of Ndi Anambra would not have it. They plodded on.

The media and the law courts have been turned into another theatre of battle field to stop Soludo from being the next Governor of Anambra state. Contrary to what seems apparent in the public space, the stop Soludo campaign is not just that of Hon Chukwuma Umeoji’ s design. He is only the smokescreen and he knows that.

They know that not even their rigging machine can stop Soludo once his name and party is in the ballot paper because he is the people’s choice. This is why they have opted for cannibalisation as their only competitive weapon.

Now they have not factored in the people’s power- a fatal mistake which is the manifestation of the voice of God. So with the people’s power behind APGA and Soludo, both the moles and the sworn enemies he respesents are wide open for a sucker punch as Ndi Anambra have already decided that APGA and Soludo are their choice.

Be of good cheer!.

MSMES TOO CRITICAL TO THE ECONOMY TO BE IGNORED, SAYS NAFDAC DG.

Press Release

July 25, 2021

DANIELS G.O

Urges MSME Entrepreneurs to be patient and get NAFDAC Certification Identity Before Exporting goods.

The Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye has reiterated the important role that Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play in the Nigerian economy, saying her Agency would continue to render its unflinching support to them in order to enable MSMEs continue to act as a catalyst to economic rejuvenation.

Reacting to the insinuations in some quarters that it is easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for an MSME operator to get the required certification for NAFDAC registration,
Prof. Adeyeye, in a statement by NAFDAC Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola, on Sunday, said the average MSME entrepreneur would testify that the relationship between them and the Agency has tremendously improved and become very cordial in the recent past.

Globally, she said MSMEs contribute up to 45 per cent of total employment and up to 33 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in emerging economies.

In a recent review of a 2017 survey on MSMEs, it was revealed that in Nigeria, there were 41.4 million MSMEs and about 99 per cent belonged to the micro sub-sector., she said, adding that MSMEs are the bedrock of Nigerias industrialization and inclusive economic development; and the most important component of industrialization as set out in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan of the Federal Government.
She stated that the significance of MSMEs in the nations economy cannot, therefore, be over-emphasized.

She further stated that the NAFDAC timeline for the processing of products for registration is Ninety (90) days and that there are consistent efforts to ensuring timelines are met, amongst which are the deployment of a robust e-registration platform called NAFDAC Product Administration and Monitoring System (NAPAMS), which has the capacity for monitoring and assessment of timelines.

However, timely responses to issues raised with applications is required. Some of the compliance issues that are frequently observed range from labelling lapses, inadequate documentations, increased product analysis failure rate & product rejects, especially with highly sensitive products like detection of cyanide in cassava related products, Prof Adeyeye further explained. The ongoing trainings and re-trainings of prospective NAFDAC Applicants/MSMEs entrepreneurs on principles of Good Agricultural Practices and other relevant techniques, are helping in yielding desired reduction of such failures.

According to her, if there is a sector that has been supported by NAFDAC the most it is MSMEs because we reduced the registration fee by 80 per cent for six months last year.

She added that the first two hundred applicants received zero registration fee, while after the first two hundred, we made it 80 per cent zero registration fee. That is palliative which was not done to any other sector. In addition, we waived late renewal fees for those whose NAFDAC Registration licenses expired during the same period.

According to Prof Adeyeye, We did it for MSMEs because they are very key to our economy. The COVID 19 pandemic might have slowed down some people who might have wanted to register. But six months out of the nine months of the pandemic in 2020 was devoted to rendering help to the MSMEs.

She however, admitted that because some of our MSMEs are not very computer literate, they may have challenges in terms of e-registration, adding that some are being helped to register.

That is why we talk about assisted registration procedure. We will help those who do not know how to use computer to register,
Prof Adeyeye further explained that If anybody goes online to start our registration process, and encounter any problem there is an internet/online assistant that will ask can I help you.’ I have tried it myself and you can type any request, which would be attended to online.

The NAFDAC DG also noted that there is no shortcut to improvement with technology or trade, stressing that sometimes we want shortcuts. Sometimes, we do not have patience to start something and finish it. No, it does not work that way.
According to her, some people that have products that they think could be exported, take shortcuts. They do not go to NAFDAC to test their products before they are exported.

Thereafter, the government of the receiving country stops the product, and they reject it and destroy it. We all need to learn not to take shortcuts.

Prof Adeyeye insists that the Agency will not compromise Global Best Practices and standards under the guise of placating its clients who have refused to follow due process to get the required identification certification. ‘’It’s our responsibility to safeguard the health of the Nigerian people’’, she said.

For MSMEs products, she maintains that it is 90 working days, (four and a half months), adding that If people cannot wait for four months to get their products registered, they may complain.

Regarding the granting of approval for MSME production sites, the NAFDAC helmswoman said If we go to a production site to check whether the place is fit for the manufacturing or packaging of products for human consumption and the place is found to be filthy and may make people sick, we will not approve the site, adding that we will say ok do this or do that. If people are not patient to take correction, they may feel frustrated. We have supported MSMEs to a great extent and we will continue to support them.

Prof. Adeyeye admonished the MSMEs to always ensure that they comply with all relevant government policies and regulations; collaborate more amongst themselves to jointly engage government constructively on issues concerning them; foster unity and cohesion for increased resources in achieving better economic benefits.
